  1. I did BI on MSC (don't recommend) in May. Fell in LOVE--DH & I are doing it on the Regal in April. Cobh--loved this little town, just hit a couple pubs; will probably take train to Cork this time. Looks like a lovely small city Dublin--was a fiasco & unable to get off. SUPER excited to go pub hopping this time! Glasgow--walked around Greenock. FAIL--nothing much in this sleepy town. Will train to Glasgow this time Belfast--did HOHO & LOVED it. Fabulous city. Sad it is not on our itinerary Kirkwall--took the T11 Orkney Tour. FABULOUS & great price Invergordon--did a Loch Ness/Highlands/Invernesss Tour via invergordon-bustours FANTASTIC Completely fell in love w/ this area This time we add Portland, Edinburgh (YEAH) & LeHavre. We hit LeHavre in Oct on our N. Europe tour. Our friends got off & said "meh". It was the last day so we relaxed, did laundry & packed. Possibly the same this time.
  2. I am not sure about that--we just walk up as a party of 2 w/ no issues (and we eat early so that helps). It seems you book this at the restaurant directly, but you could ask in the theatre.
  3. On Celebrity & Princess I left things on hangers tossed the rest in my luggage & they moved it. MSC required me to repack everything. How does Carnival handle this?
  4. My favs too--I would have never known! The word is that they will take it.
  5. I am sailing solo--would I get this offer as well? If so, it says "house wine"--I only drink Pinot Grigio & Sauvignon Blanc (occasionally Prosecco or Champagne) What is the house wine? Thanks!
  6. Sailing next month. I will be on a B2B & booked the steakhouse for the 2nd leg. I would like to change my day & time. Is this easily done beforehand online? If not, would I be able to do it onboard the week before? Thanks!
  7. Do I need cash or do they take a card?
  8. On turnaround day in Sydney, I'd like to hop off & get a bottle of wine and a 12 pack of soda to bring onboard. Anyone know the closest place to do this? (no idea if wine is sold in a separate store as it is some places) Thanks!
  9. I know in the Caribbean they are sticklers about confiscating every bottle of booze until the last day. I have heard in Europe they don't worry about a single bottle (that was our experience this summer). Are they sticklers about this on Carnival in AUS/NZ/S Pacific? Not trying to break any rules! Just trying to determine what drink/wine package makes the most sense! Thanks! (this is Carnival)
  10. It was an amazing deal via VIFP. $700 (including taxes & fees) for 20 days New Caldonia & NZ. Included $400 OBC (this is 8 day plus 12 day) Used points for the flights & hotels--couldn't pass it up! Seriously, we don't gamble as much on a cruise as in Vegas. We had like 1500 points at the end of a 2 week cruise...many many others with tens of thousands of points!
  11. Guessing it will only let me buy one as I am sailing solo this trip. Can I buy another from the head waiter?
  12. Good to know. I have the Venezia booked for May out of NYC. It was looking like I would have to cancel, and this makes my decision easier. I will say, MSC has passenger issues across the line, it appears. ( I can attest that behaviors were similar on my Caribbean & Europe cruises on them last year...cross MSC off the list)
  13. Appears I can only buy 1...will only let me add one to my cart!

I have heard in Europe they don't worry about a single bottle (we found this on another line this summer). Are they sticklers about this on Carnival in AUS/NZ/S Pacific? Not trying to break any rules! Just trying to determine what drink/wine package makes the most sense! Thanks!
  16. This looks like a very good option--about $120 for 5 bottles of wine & one of the options I know I like. This is a cruise out of Sydney, so many Australian options--NZ & AUS wines r my fav. I am reading & it says "Your order will be delivered to your dining room table. Unconsumed wine will not be refunded but you may take home unopened bottles" Does this mean I can only consume it at dinner? Or can I take the bottle to my room upon the completion of dinner? Can I buy 2 packages?
  17. FINAL THOUGHTS We had a great time--we always do. Stayed up much later many more nights than we usually do. (this was the party-est cruise we have ever sailed on any line...well except the 5 day Celebrity spring break cruise that was 75% FSU students...) Loved food, crew, activities, Familiar Strangers, Syds. I wouldn't seek out a Prima class ship to sail again BUT I wouldn't say NO. (for instance, I will sail a Celebrity Eclass ship anywhere if the price & time is right) Prima will be relegated to itineraries we want to sail. Not sure I'd sail from Galveston in the winter again. You really lose 3 days of warm weather (days 1&2 and 7) Sailed out of there last March & didn't notice that. If you have any questions about the ship, port, itinerary, I will try to answer! Thanks for reading!
  18. OOPS FORGOT PORTS We booked this cruise mostly to sail from Galveston so we could see our friends from Houston & to sail a new class of ship. We had just hit these ports in April & have several times before. Costa Maya I lounged around the Waterfront. DH wandered into port are for a couple beers. Belize I lounged around the Waterfront. DH wandered into port are for a couple beers. (yep there's a pattern) Roatan We wandered into port & got fish pedis. It's a tradition once on a trip! Cozumel We wandered around the shopping area. I headed back to lounge at the Waterfront & DH hit Hooters for a couple beers. Unfortunately by the time I got my suit on, dark clouds rolled it. It rained on & off most of the rest of the day. There was a little reprieve & got a bit of sun, but the showers were pretty good that day.
  19. OK...our least fav parts of the cruise (MINOR details) PRODUCTION SHOWS ONE ONLY ONE Donna Summer show. And all I hear was "Great talent but BORING story line" Over & over. So we didn't go. Comdedians--maybe 3 shows all week? Timing never worked w/ Syds Familiar Strangers doing Motown in the theater was brilliant--they are GREAT. 70s & 80s nights in "Club" were fun but personally I just want to hear music from those decade & dance. I don't need the production crew doing...well, whatever the bits they were doing. (they are talented, that isn't it...I just don't care for the concept) Then one night The Price is Right was in the theatre the whole night. (not our thing tho heard it was good) Sadly no Syd's show that night either. OK We will sit & listen to music & play cards--something we like to do on cruises. Well, the couple in the Atrium we like but his guitar was VERY loud. Grating to the ears. We even went up to 8 thinking that would help. Nope. OK We will go to Metropolitan. WELL the music was so loud that we were yelling at each other to be heard before we even got inside. So NOPE. OK We went up to Observation Lounge. DARK. QUITE DARK. Yes, it was open, but most tables did not have a direct light over the table. Very odd. Finally found one & played one game...but the dimness made us drowsy! OK WHAT NOW? Too windy on deck to play cards. Local had no open seats. Kid you not, we finished the game in our room. Never had the problem on any other ship...
