Chef’s table is expensive.  Ship’s tour is expensive. They have waiting lists. Expensive to one person is a nice experience to another. It will probably only be once per night or not even every night but I bet a lot of people will do it. I will.

And the spot is way to small to be the Signature restaurant. Plus with my cabin right outside this space, I have to explore the rest of the ship somehow!  🤪

Here’s hoping people in the Signature suites get this new restaurant comped as 360 was/is?

I'm a bit concerned after looking at this photo of the Cabana mini suites located in the top half of the sphere.  It appears that the balcony glass goes up much higher than in a standard balcony cabin.  This is a deal breaker for us if we cant get fresh air in our faces, and we are booked in one of these cabins for the Sun on Aug 3rd.   Does anyone know if this is the case?  Thanks muchimage.png.28e7d9ea85571879ec364da4f8fccb09.png

To me it looks as though the balcony is the same height as the normal ones but the bottom of the glass extends further down into the deck below meaning the gap between the two floors is smaller but you shouldn’t need to be on tip toes to see over the glass. No doubt it’s this way to make the sphere more apparent. Obviously only an assumption until the ship is launched.

Edit - looking again it seems the sphere balconies are the same as the normal balconies but there’s glass instead of the metal superstructure at the floor of the normal balconies. Hope this makes sense.

Is it me or does that toilet look awfully wide?

I think it’s just the wide angle lens giving that impression.

Must say I’m getting more and more excited to sail on the new ship and see Princess’s next generation. Will be spending 30 days on her starting in September 2024 - 16 nights in a Penthouse suite on the TA before spending 14 nights in a mini suite around the Caribbean with a ten night Orlando stay in between. Should give plenty of time to enjoy everything that’s on offer. Cannot wait.

That bathroom looks lovely but there is absolutely NO storage.

There are no drawers and the three minuscule shelves have now been reduced to one.

I wonder if the large expanse of wood under the sink is in fact a drawer. We have something similar at home.

Now booked 14 nights aboard in August 2024. So looking forward to being on a new ship in its inaugural season again.

The last one was Celebrity Edge back in 2018 and there was loads of hype about it on CC. I'm somewhat surprised Sun Princess isn't receiving the same level of attention/debate!

Possibly because Princess cruisers on CC can be a miserable bunch and unreceptive to change 🤣

  6. It’s likely that there will be a number of children during school holidays. This will apply to week long or two week long cruises. We’ve never found it to be a problem but it will depend whether you’re pool deck lovers or not.

Gratuities are included in the Princess Plus and Premier packages but otherwise payable on a daily basis per person with the amount depending on which cabin type you are in. Can’t remember whether it’s just the first two passengers that need to pay them though.

  7. I would suggest people who are rightly assuming there have been cutbacks watch some recent YouTube videos of people who are experiencing their first Princess cruise. It’s interesting to see through new eyes how impressed they are with Princess compared to other lines and how they feel the Plus and Premier packages present such good value, again, compared to other lines. Perhaps then people would realise that, despite the cutbacks, Princess still offers one of the best all round cruise experiences available.

They were emails from Viking.  Also mentioned on the UK section of Viking on FB

    Okay. Thank you.

I never get these email offers 😤

I sometimes receive emails but didn’t receive these ones. That’s a shame as would have been interested.

There have been many cancellations because of the re routing of cruises away from Israel.  I have seen offers of prices from Viking which are more like those we used to enjoy when Viking started operations. Lots from the UK have jumped aboard and will enjoy the lovely Greek Islands at a very good price.

This is interesting to hear. Where have you seen these offers? Emails from Viking or through travel agent websites?

Odd not to see balconies all along the back of a ship - such a strange design choice to have a series of staircases using up that prime space!

It does seem weird but I’m hoping this means it’s publicly accessible space perhaps with a seat or two on each level. Although looking at this picture, there doesn’t seem to be much room for seating.

Would love to see some higher resolution shots of the stern. So far the only one we've seen is kind of fuzzy.

Also would love to know if she's fully fitted out during the sea trials or if there's more work to be done at least externally.

And finally (for now), she's been sitting in Palermo for three days now. Looks like on the satellite images she might be getting more work done because the location looks like a dry dock. Anybody know for sure?

Yes, she is back in dry dock. I saw a post on Instagram earlier confirming this.

So confirmation in the press release above of the Teppanyaki restaurant and that there will be a pop-up Catch by Rudi. Plus exclusive dishes and a Prime Rib carving trolley in the new Reserve and Signature Restaurants. A few other tidbits too but still holding back on the deck 17 Speciality Restaurant

Good to hear of the enhanced menus in the Reserve and Signature restaurants. Will be interesting to see who the celebrity chef will be. Assume they’ll be working on the high end deck 17 restaurant - Altitude? Hope both are more well received than Share by Curtis Stone was. We enjoyed that when we ate there on the Emerald.
