  1. We have a son in law who is an FBI agent. He said always keep your passports locked in a safe. Passports are worth over $40,000 on the black market. He also advised to always keep a copy with you.
  2. Someone on another c.c. forum said the Princess ships are just big banquet halls with banquet food. I whole heartedly disagree on both counts with what they said. The food looks beautiful & far better than any banquet I have eaten at.
  3. To each his own. I do not wear the same clothes for a nice dinner out as I do when going to McDonalds. My Mother had a saying "Class will tell." To each his own. Some of us are rule followers & others are rule breakers. NO need to bash because you disagree.
  4. I could not agree with you more. There are land vacations for the "casual" people or a Carnival cruise. I personally feel it is very disrespectful to the hard working dining room crew on the ship to come in looking like you are eating at Joe's down home diner.

  6. Personally we prefer the Hotel Moxy. The staff cannot be beat & the hotel is rather new.
  7. Our big draw back to Celebrity is the cost of the drink package. On Celebrity it is $89 per DAY. We are not alcoholics, thus cannot justify such a high rate. Even though I love my Cappuccinos & fresh juice. We like the friendliness of the wait staff on Princess.
  8. Sorry. One more question. Can I use the gift cards when I use Princess EZ air as well as paying for our cruise?
  9. We just learned of the AARP gift card yesterday. Is the card legit? Has anyone used the card?
  10. We are not buffet people & are wondering if there is anywhere else to have lunch on our first day.
  11. It has been several years since we have taken a Holland America cruise. Does H.A. have a Carnival shareholders credit? Do they offer anything for a military veteran?
  12. The way some people maul the food in the buffet plus standing in long lines, the buffet is NOT for us. I do the serving at home & like to sit down & be served.
  13. I second the Moxy. We really enjoyed it. As a woman I loved being across the street from the shopping mall.
  14. We were also on the sailing of May 20 to May 27. May 29 (2 days after disembarking) my husband came down with Covid. On May 30 he was hospitalized. On May 31 I came down with Covid. Keep in mind we live in Florida & were in San Diego to visit our daughter. We stayed at Ramada by Wyndham in Point Loma. It was in great need of painting & repairing. This did not help our recovery any. We finally flew home June 3. With that in mind we did a 28 day cruise from Sydney to San Francisco on the Grand Princess in March. Never got sick, even though the Captain announced a Norovirus outbreak.
  15. Yes. The food is very good in the dining room, the production shows were excellent & Carnival's price was the cheapest. We are very blessed that we can now afford to sail on Princess & Celebrity & pay more.
  16. I would say all our sailings on Carnival were like this. (We have taken 9 Carnival cruises.) Honestly never more than 7 days, which may make a difference. We now prefer Princess, then Celebrity.
  17. If drinking is your thing, Carnival is great. Far too prone for people to be rowdy for us.
  18. Aren't you lucky!! Our first two Covids had nothing to do with a cruise ship, nor travel. We take great precautions but Covid is air borne. NO! We have no plans on staying home in the future. Thank you for your concern.
  19. Wish we could say that. Our third time with Covid, but the first time hospitalized with it.
  20. We were on the Emerald. The doctor did not tell us what strain we had. This is our third time getting Covid. My husband had a booster last June. I am double vaccinated. Guess that doesn't matter.
  21. We just got off a 7 day cruise. My husband was admitted to the hospital with Covid & I came down with it two days later. The doctor thinks it is likely we contracted it while on the ship, as he fell ill 2 days after disembarking. This strain is nasty.
  22. We were on the same cruise. It is different now cruising after Covid. We just got home from a 28 day Sydney to San Francisco cruise 19 days before this sailing. There were only 2 production shows in the entire 28 days. All but a couple of guest entertainers were mediocre at best. Food was great, & staff could not have been any better. The shows & entertainers on this ship were great. Food again good. However, 2 days after we disembarked my husband ended up in the hospital with Covid. 4 days after disembarking I became victim to Covid. We were on another ship 28 days & never got Covid. You just never know.
  23. Wow! Your issue is a new one to me. Yes, you will need to contact Princess EZ Air. By looking your flight up, you now can get a jump on changing your flight. If this happens I try to make a false booking directly on the airlines site. Just do not complete the booking. I find a flight or two that will work & then call EZ Air ready in case they come up with an unworkable plan.
  24. Check online directly with the airline you are booked with. I got one of those dreaded notices, but rather than wait days, I went to the airline directly. Our time change was only 5 minutes. The airline booking # you will need is the confirmation # on the upper right side of your Princess booking info. If the new time is not acceptable you will get a jump on fixing your travel.
