  1. Sadly, I have heard/read about cruisers arriving at their assigned times that were left standing OUTSIDE the terminal for over 2 hours due to people being allowed in at times other than their check in.  I don't think this was Celebrity but it certainly means that unless the cruise line enforces the check in times, those arriving on time could be left outside.  Cudos to Celebrity if they enforce this.

  2. Yesterday I heard about ones of the ships (I believe it was Carnival Horizon) having 2 hour PLUS wait, some people outside in the heat, to get on board due to people not honoring their check-in times.  Apparently these people were being allowed to go ahead and board, while people  who were there at the proper time couldn't even get into the terminal.  I thought there was to be strict adherence to the boarding times and that if you arrived early you would be made to stay outside of the terminal until your time.  What has been the experience on Celebrity Edge?  We have an 8/15 Equinox cruise and I don't want to be outside in the hot sun while "offenders" are allowed ahead of us.

  3. We have an 8/15/2021 Equinox cruise scheduled that is a 12 day cruise.   I’ve read that prior to 11/1/2021, there can be no cruises longer than 7 days.  This was an article back in November so I’m assuming this could likely be outdated.  Any idea if this correct.  If B2B’s are allowed, seems like 12 day cruises would be okay.  Check-in is still closed.

  4. I apologize if this is a repeat question but I'm wondering if you want to purchase WiFi prior to your cruise and are Diamond +......how do you get your discount?  Do you get a better rate prior to sailing and then allowed your discount on top of that?  Am I better off to wait till I get on board?

Have you tried contacting the organization that vaccinated you, and asked them about getting a CDC card?

My husband and I were vaccinated in Georgia and received a small card with all necessary information on it.  When we went for the 2nd vaccine, we had to take our card and the appropriate info was added to it.  I've really never heard of anyone being given what you have.  Perhaps they ran out of cards.  I would try to check it out with someone.  If you had it done at a pharmacy, perhaps they would be willing to get you the card.

  6. Due to the average incubation period being 5-6 days and many longer, these people likely got the virus from their flight.  Getting the virus once vaccinated is less likely but breakthrough cases WILL happen and the cruise lines expect it.  Cases will be less severe or totally asymptomatic.  Celebrity as well as MSC have handled this perfect.

We're on the 8/15 12 night Equinox. Hope we sail.

We have three families on the 8/15/2021 cruise also.  Can't wait and just HOPE that it REALLY happens.  Our final payment was paid recently so that seems to be encouraging...guess we'll hear as soon as they know for sure whether or not it's a go.  Our 3/15 Silhouette cruise last year was cancelled and we booked this one assuming that everything would certainly be up and running in over a year.......NOT!

I see a 12 night Equinox going out of FLL.  Since it is out of a US port then not likely to sail by mid-August.   Recently my 9 night cruise on Silhouette out of the UK for Aug 26 2021 was cancelled by Celebrity as they redeployed for UK-only cruises.  I cannot say when your cruise will be cancelled but perhaps hopefully before final payment next month.  Yes frustrating!

Yes it is frustrating but can't fault the cruise lines.  Happy that UK cruisers will be able to sail.

  9. Our 3/15/2020 Celebrity cruise was cancelled so we rebooked an 8/15/2021 12 day Equinox cruise.  Obviously, things are still up in the air and even if cruising was allowed tomorrow, it would be a couple of months before actual sailing and my understanding is that cruises will be limited to 7 day, 50% capacity, balcony only cruises.  Due to this, I keep wondering when we will be told that our cruise will be cancelled.  The cruise lines may just need to keep the money until the last minute and I'm actually okay with that.  BUT....since our cruise is more than the 7 day (we do have a balcony) and I think the ship was full...seems that it will be cancelled and rebooked as a 7 day at 50% capacity.

I haven't been on Cruisecritic.com for a while and have tried to read remarks but they are MANY.  I realize no one probably has an answer to this but wanted to check anyway.

  10. We're both over 70 and plan on leaving next week on a 12 day Silhouette cruise.  Afraid....no, concerned.....probably a bit.  We will take additional meds and WASH HANDS often.  I feel this is no worse than the flu but who really knows.  We will go and hopefully be aware of as much as possible and try to have a good time.

  11. I'm trying to get clothes together and it would help to know when "formal" nights (I realize they are not called formal) are on a 12 night cruise on Silhouette.  I'm assuming there will probably be three.  Does anyone know what day of the week they fall?

Celebrity published a notification to passengers on the Feb 1 cruise yesterday.   Looks like the itinerary has been changed to protect those traveling.     They are offering a 100% refund or modified itinerary.

We received a similar email earlier this week concerning those who would NOT be allowed to board any ship if they had been in or flown into certain countries.....and our cruise isn't until 3/15.  I thought they were being very pro-active.
