Hi Paul, Just wanted to thank you again for your wonderful review. Also, the notes you wrote about Taz are exactly like I remember him. I talked to him about his photography also as my Dad was a professional photographer & I grew up in front of a camera! He was just so nice to talk to & always had that wonderful smile.
Did he happen to say where he will be after Edge? We sail on Reflection next March, so was maybe hoping he'd be on her.
Again, thanks so much for spending so much of your time filling us all in on your travels. Take care & maybe one day we'll meet in person.

Does anyone know the approx. beer prices on Oasis or have a picture of the bar menu's? Just reg. beers, like Bush, Miller, etc. Thanks for any help. :D

What are the names of these new ships??
-
Thanks so much for your wonderful review & especially for giving Taz our "hello" message & for the the pictures of him that you posted. Hoping to run into him again on another cruise.
Hope you made it home safely & will look forward to your review of Reflection. We sail on her nx March.

Thanks everyone, I just checked, NO SALE ! Will just keep checking & hoping. :D
-
Anybody think RCI will have a sale on the drink pkg. & excursions over the Labor Day wk. end?? Hoping the drink pkg. goes to $42. per day! ;p

Have you tried the Chocolate Martini? Have Taz make it for you! Please tell him hello from the OConnor's.
I did tell him hello and he remembered you! He said to say hello back! I’ll post a pic from sunset bar tomorrow with him.

Oh, thank you so much. We just thought he was the greatest, plus he bought us our last martini on the last night of that cruise. Thanks again & look forward to your pictures. I too have pictures of him!
Looking forward to more of your review. Have fun!
-
Right now we are getting ready to go to the Martini Bar. I wonder how the crowd will be tonight since we are in port.

Thank you! I’ll be sure to mention your name when I see him tomorrow morning.
He’s switching to Edge mid October to start setting up the bars and will be on the Edge until middle / end of January.

Thanks so much. He was such a nice person & we enjoyed talking with him every night. Maybe when he leaves Edge he'll go to Reflection! :D

Loving you review & your pictures, especially the one of the bar tender, Taz! He was our server at the Martini Bar on Silhouette & we never forgot him. Was hoping he would be on Reflection nx March, but guess not. If you see him again please tell him the OConnor's said hello & we missed him on Silhouette the last time we sailed on her.
Looking forward to more of your review. Have fun & Happy Anniversary! :D

Has anyone done snorkling right at the beach in St. Maarten? Is there anything to see? (right at the beach where the water taxi drops you off).
-
Really enjoying your review & your pictures. If you get back to the Martini Bar and see a server named "Taz" (he's also from Turkey) would you please tell him hello from the O'Connor's. He was just so sweet when we met him on the Silhouette a while back.
Looking forward to more of your review.

Just went back in to the website & tried again & it went through using the OBC & didn't ask for the credit card, so not sure what I was doing wrong, but it's booked! Thanks for helping anyway. :D
-
If the OBC isn't thru the cruise line, it won't show until you've boarded the ship...usually day 2. If you want to book now, you'll have to pay for it.
If the OBC IS thru the ship, then call and book it on the phone and get them to apply it....if they will.
I may try to call but just want to make sure I will get the same rate that's showing on the website. The OBC is from the cruise line (RCI).
-
Does the Cruise Planner indicate you have $100 OBC? Also is the excursion $54 per person and you have more thn one person?
Yes, it's showing he has the OBC. I am only booking for 1 person to go on the excursion.
-
I'm trying to book an excursion using OBC & it's still asking for credit card info! The OBC is $100. & the excursion is $54. so why do they need the credit card info? Does anyone know the answer to this?
-
If it exists, it will be in the online check-in area, but many have reported not seeing it anymore.
It's still there for Oasis. I just did ours last wk. & it's under the online check-in page, should be close to the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.
-
We are thinking of getting the drink pkg. also, & someone told me to wait till Labor Day as they may put it on sale at again like they did for 4th. of July at $42. ! We sail in Oct. so I'm waiting till Labor Day to ck. it out, you may want to do the same! Just a suggestion. :D
-
I believe it's the "Amsterdam" as it's a much smaller ship than the "Nieuw Amsterdam" & we also saw the news where it showed the ship "Amsterdam".
Prayers going out to the family of that crew member. Hoping for some good news.
-
Does anyone know what the benefits are for being a share holder with RCI?
-
Thanks for a wonderful review & your beautiful pictures. Do hope that some day you will make it back to the Emerald Isle & up to beautiful Donegal! :D

This is one of my favourite ever reviews for a number of reasons. I was born in Kilkenny, raised in Waterford and live in Donegal, so to see places I know well through the eyes of a visitor is a real pleasure.
My surname is Kavanagh, Caomhánach in Irish, which means "of Kevin". The was initially a nickname given to Diarmuid Mc Murrough's son Art, because he had been sent to Glendalough to study under St Kevin. Essentially, the name indicated he was Art Mc Murrough, the pupil of Kevin. Seeing the pictures of Strongbow's tomb (Art's brother in law) followed by the pictures of Glendalough was lovely.
Then, the picture of the motorway junction outside Dublin - I was caught in traffic on that overpass yesterday as I drove from Waterford to Donegal.
Rarely has a review on CC spoken to me so much of home!
A really well written review as always, Claudio, and I'm glad you enjoyed your time here.
One point re : Holyhead, any fans of 1960s TV may remember a TV series called 'The Prisoner'. It was quite weird and starred Patrick Mc Goohan, probably best known for its opening dialogue "Who is Number 1?" "You are Number 6". "I am not a number, I am a free man". It was filmed in a village called Portmeiron which is just over an hour away from Holyhead, and a fascinating place to visit.
Sorry to jump in here, but just wondering where in Donegal you are? Our family is in Lettekenny, Ramelton, & my mother inlaw is from Carrigart. Love Donegal !
