  1. It's really just a matter of perspective. Anyone who has been cruising with Carnival over the last 35 years knows that the colors are not meaningless. They once played an important role in luggage delivery to your stateroom. Before the ability for folks to print their own boarding docs and luggage tags, Carnival would mail you these documents. Your luggage tag was a little 2" x 3" card with a stretchy to attach it to the handle of your luggage. The tag was indeed color coded to the floor and position of your stateroom. You would hand-write your name and stateroom number on the tag. If you lost or forgot your little tag, the Porter would look up your cabin and provide you with the correct color tags for your stateroom. Again, you had to write your name and stateroom number on the tags. The color specifies the deck and position of the stateroom and gives the guys sorting and delivering the bags an easy visual to know which deck to drop off the bags. I'm sure the color coding is still produced on the current luggage tags that we all can now print online because you really don't want to make a software change -- any software change can introduce errors and requires a lot of testing before implementing. Easier to let folks know in the FAQ section of the Carnival site. Somewhere along the line Carnival decided that printing in black and white is just fine. I'm sure it was easier for Carnival to just let folks know that it's fine to print luggage tags in Black & White, as opposed to making a software change.
  2. Hard to leave your slot machine when you are on a hot streak... Urine leak is a likely consequence... 😂
  3. Fresh water would be nice. However, I spent 2 weeks cruising a B2B on the same ship, in the (saltwater) pools and would have never known the pools were salt water had I not learned prior. The pools are only typically about 25 feet wide by 45 feet across and 4 feet deep, so swimming is not an asset. Mostly just keeping cool and telling stories and lies amongst each other while enjoying a cocktail. So, now scratching my head why these pools would be so amazing and how much more fun those pools would be without saltwater in them.
  4. You have to be out of your room by 8:30. If no US Customs issues, all passengers are usually required to be off the ship by 10am-ish. US Customs can't clear the ship for boarding until everyone is off the ship ( i.e., has been cleared ).
  5. Pretty sure everyone is going to die... even though it passed CDC... 🥱
  6. If you are a foodie, there are many Carnival Corporation cruise lines you can select. Carnival Cruise Line is about fun -- advertised as "The Fun Ship".
  7. Show proof of this statement... even a little proof... even a tiny bit of proof. Pretty big statements to make.
  8. Thank you for your honesty. So, the cruise price seems to be a break-even, and there's an additional $1k to $2k spent on 'Entertainment'. AKA, Gaming. Is this an accurate description ? Seems like the Gaming is really not any more than folks spend on a couple 6-hour excursions.
  9. So, if you were to infer by your experience, folks say they pay $100 ( guessing pp ? ) and free drinks in the casino ( likely most often just the 1st person in the room ). How does that play out ? Say, a 7-day cruise. Assuming they still have to pay port & Taxes. Also, assuming an Interior costs $1,000 less than a balcony ( most never explicitly specify what the casino booking room is ). How much does it really cost per person or per cabin ?
  10. Asking about "Cutbacks" is like asking, "What am I going to miss that I don't even know anything about". Really... ? 😂 😂 🤣
  11. Lots of posting of $100 rooms, free drinks, etc. posted often. Carnival's Casino is not giving away money and only offer these bookings if they think (know) they will make bank. So, What is the final cruise price you casino gambler's actually pay including losses... ? Was talking to a guy at the pool on the ship... said I was doing a Back-2-Back cruise. He said he couldn't afford to do a B2B because of the Casino. Anyway... any honest gamblers willing to tell their stories, both good and bad ? Really don't want to hear only the rah-rah stories about how they owned the casino. Just looking for the bottom line of how much the casino offers really cost you.
  12. To answer your question(s) directly: Yes, you leave your stuff alone in your cabin. Don't touch a thing. Yes, you can stay on the ship... don't need to get off the ship ( see below how this works ) If you want to get off, they give you card that gets you back on the ship if you decide to visit/enjoy the port, without having to wait in any lines. Our B2B in New Orleans, we received notice to meet in the Main Dining Room at 8:30am. Carnival did their paperwork there, and U.S. Customs came up to verify our passports, and were checked in for cruise #2. However, sometimes U.S. Customs requires you to leave the ship, in your B2B group, down to the terminal, and then y'all march back onto the ship. Next, you relax in the lobby bar area enjoying Mimosa's provided by Carnival, free of charge, until boarding starts for all the other cruisers waiting in the terminal.
  13. OMG... Hilarious, I must have dipped into the Cheers pre-cruise... Yup, percentage signs are not the same as dollar signs... 🤣🤣🤣
  14. Also, "Up To" 10% off infers all amounts from $0 to $10.
  15. OBC can be requested for cruises that start by July 31 2024.
  16. Funny that when people get away with something, especially if more than once, that they treat that as the rule rather than the exception.
  17. From John Heald, 5 days ago: "This is one of those times where I need to respectfully and very kindly ask those that have permission to go directly to the cabin to drop off that carry on bags to please do just that, drop them off. This is of course for guests, who are diamond, Platinum, staying in a suite or have Faster to the Fun. The cabin attendant is not “ being rude” by asking you to leave and not allowing you to unpack. They need to clean your cabin, they need to do it to the highest of standards and then they have to move onto the next one So please do just drop off the bags and then please go and enjoy lunch etc. Cheers"
  18. They have a QR code... Not everyone likes using a phone... some like the old fashion method of doing things.

  20. Well, you have to shop. We took advantage of the $100 pp OBC they were offering for our upcoming cruises... We booked thru a Big Box and received a few hundred dollars in cash-back incentives for each cruise, so I count that as a price reduction as well. They are $32 billion in debt, so it's not so easy to offer a lot of incentives. The people who brag about their casino incentives and pricing are sure pretty tight-lipped about how much their cruise really costs. Casinos are not staying open and offering those rates because they are giving money away... 😉
  21. Oh... that reminds me, speaking of painful... They really need to do a better job of vetting the wait staff that they have sing in the MDR. There's some great voices out there... but I've also had to bare some pretty bad singing.
  22. I don't eat cake, so can't don't have an opinion on the deserts. However, I've been very pleased with their bread selection, quality, and taste.
