  1. I was on the 4/5 Regal too! Were you at the meet and mingle?? Glad to here it will be acceptable just different. I will be toting some teens this time. They loved the Regal. Hopefully with all the child friendly activities on Breakaway they will be so busy they wont notice the furnishings.

  2. Never been on the Breakaway however looking for a convenient cruise for myself and two teens so need some help choosing a cabin on this ship. A suite is out due to finances. Can anybody suggest a ca b in where I will get the biggest bang for the buck? Just an extra foot or two would be nice. Ocean view or balcony. I know on other lines there are hidden ca b ins with a little extra room. Anything look e this on Breakaway??? Thanks in a d Vance.

  3. Well I have to book the school holidays and coordinate with the kids school breaks. We are Just off the Regal. It will be a year in between as I have one child beginning college and have to find the funds. Also I m a big time planner/researcher.:D

  4. ALL other lines have their April 2017 itineraries open for booking. What is Princess waiting for? So I put a deposit on rCcl cruise but would love to switch if the price, ship, or itinerary are better. Anybody know when they will open or if the New ship will be included?

  5. I tried to book I a mini for four last year and was advised by the princess rep that it was more affordable to book two minis in the lowestcategory as guarantee. At the time that worked out to be more affordable than booking two balconies. We booked the M F mini guarantees any were upgraded to M B minis side by side. We were able to open the balcony dividers. I think you have to go thru Princess for these guarantees. Give them a call. You will not be comfortable with four adults in the minis on the regal.

  6. Thanks all.. I Was mostly referring to dinners. We still had a great cruise. The ship was beautifu. The spa treatment was excellent. We enjoyed the light show, balancing act and the comedian. Participated in trvia and bingo. Could not do the marriage game as we were at dinner. I just wanted to post about the food so others were not expecting excellent and being disappointed.

  7. Ok,I'll say it. The food at dinner wasn't that good. The souffle was tasty as was the lamb and veal however, the beef was horrible in the late traditional dinner. Tasted like it was turning bad. Not aged beef, but bad. The lobster was bland and tasteless. The pastas were mush. The crawfish Mac and cheese was so salty it was no t edible. I swear somebody dumped the salt shaker accidentally.I know food is subjective but I guess my family'expectations were too high. The buffet was a bit better however I think Princess misses the mark by trying to make it too diversified. Curried dishes, Chinese dishes, grape leaves, white fish at breakfast? The homestyle dishes of meatloaf and chili. Really? The same food as a school cafeteria? We sailed 4/5-4/12/15. Maybe they were cleaning house before switching itinerary? Whatever the reason... we miss the ship but not the food.

Don't hate the messenger. Just want you to be prepared.

  8. We did the regal over Easter break and there were lots of people your age. The concerts were matchbox twenty, pink and I forgot the other one. The adult pool was mostly 30-50 year olds. This was a multi generational cruise but the 70+ were found more at the piazza area and early traditional dining. The activities included bingo, trivia, ice carving demo, stargazing, and movies under the stars. There could have been more activity choices on sea days. The shows were ok and the comedian was hysterical. Princess is a good fit for us. The food was ok not great but definitely better than we found on Carnival or norwegian cruise line.

  9. Can anybody here report on the amount of children specifically teens on board during the school holidays like Christmas and Easter breaks?? Just wondering if there is enough to keep them occupied. We recently sailed Princess. The kids loved it and had plenty to do. For the adults the activities were a little lacking. Researching next cruise.

  10. Can anybody who recently sailed the Caribbean during Easter report if there were children on board. We are not really into rock climbing and zip lining but were wondering if we bring teens will there be others for them to befriend:confused:.

  11. Yes I am a mean mom. LOL. They will understand when they have their own kids.

In regards to the kids activity listing.... there is no daily sheet for children. It is given out the first night at the kids club. My children had late traditional dining, so they went up to the club later and never received it. They just found out about activities each day when they went to the club. I was in the dark but they don't think they missed anything.

My children were not in my cabin. We booked guaranteed minisuites during one of the sales. We had adjoining cabins which were accessible with the balcony divider open. I also went to guest services and got a card for their cabin. It was more affordable than squishing them all in our cabin.

  12. We sailed the Regal Princess for the kid's Easter break 4/5-4/12. My teens 15 & 17 had a great time. They loved the kids club for 13-17 year olds. Lots for them to do. They ate dinners with the family and then were off to find their new found friends. Activities like karaoke, dancing, and teen dinner. They went to the pool with their friends, participated in some contests, won items like sunglasses, ate pizza, burgers, fries and more, and hung out. After the club closed at 1:00 am they were directed by security to the Piazza where the sat in groups talking and snacking from the international café. I was the mean mom with a curfew. I must say, they appeared to be a well behaved and polite group. My kid's only complaint was that ice cream was not self serve. (Smart Princess) My only complaint was that I never received any schedule as to their activities or a kids patter to keep track. I kept asking my room steward and he either didn't understand English or didn't know what the heck I was talking about. Finally spoke to guest services and found out some sort of schedule was given out on sail away day and we never received it. Thank goodness the children figured it out. On another note... my children didn't want to use princess messenger. I saw only two people using it the entire cruise. I think the didn't want to be found:eek: They said it was because they didn't want to hold anything except their cruise card. For the record... you don't need a waterslide, rock climbing wall or a skating rink to have a good time.
