  1. So in the "My cruise manager" portion of the carnival's website you can book sure excursions that has the excursions listed by port and date your cruise ship is in port? However I think I'm missing something... We are in mahogany bay from 8-3 and the rule of thumb is to be on board 1.5-2 hours before sailing right? So our time in this port would be 8-1 or 8-130 however the little french key excursion caught my eye, I was really excited this was offered however the departure time is 10Am with a duration of 4.5 hours, making arrival to the ship at 2:30 am I missing something? Why would they offer this excursion?

  2. We were on the January 4th sailing of the Legend and weren't able to dock at Mahogany Bay. I actually thought we had docked - we were alongside the dock but they made an announcement they were unable to dock for safety reasons and we left. It was stormy there anyway.

Did you go to another port? Or did they just slow the speed of the ship getting back to Tampa?

  3. So my family and I will be aboard the Carnival Legend in April calling at Grand Cayman. We've heard the major thing to do here is visit seven mile beach. So I'm assuming we will be able to quickly catch a taxi to the beach correct? Also where are we going to? Anyone have suggestions on where to be dropped off? We are looking for a nice beach to snorkel right off shore with a fairly low cost of admission and or other associated cost? Any ideas on this and what to do while calling in Grand Cayman?

  4. My understanding is you put your luggage out the night before (like everyone else) but you don't see it or deal with it again till your final destination... So we will be on the Legend, how does it work with FTTF... It's been a while since we cruised. The only luggage we will have to deal with on demarkation day is our carry on stuff. So since we have FTTF and our flight does not leave till 225PM how could we go about debarking? Could we get off early with FTTF with self dembark or wait till 10 or so? can someone tell me how carnival now works demarkation and possibly the easiest way for me to go about it considering I'll purchase luggage express and FTTF? Thanks!

  5. We were on the pride in 2011 and it had a standard buffet. Everything from pizza, deli, ice cream, dessert station, drink station, breakfast (cereal) station, asian, grill, and also a section that changes everyday like italian, caribbean, and the chocolate buffet!!! Also they have the MDR and steakhouse along with a coffee bar with desserts (Extra cost) enjoy your cruise!

  6. HI, we will be sailing on the Legend starting on April 13th. We have to pay in full by January 28th. So when is a good time to complete all the check in info online? I was thinking maybe the end of February. Too early? Too late? Just about right? what's everyone's experience with this?
  7. They do only release a little at a time however.... It may not be 15 tickets it may be 20 tickets but either way I do believe they limit it. When we booked our cruise on the Legend for April it wash't available at first. However a week later it was and it said they only had 9 tickets remaining. I hope they limit it or what good would the program do?

  8. We are just off the Legend yesterday. We arrived at the terminal at noon on the 5th and were on the ship in 12 minutes.

Debarkation went very well. We were in the first group after the self-assist and were off the ship in 10-15 minutes.

If you are looking for something to do before boarding, there is a nice aquarium located at Terminal 2.

Tampa is a great place to cruise from.

Great! Thanks for the info, glad to hear you had a smooth embarkation and demarkation experience!
