  1. We will be sailing the Carnival Legend in April out of Tampa and we paid for FTTF. Can anyone give any tips on the port of Tampa with FTTF? Our flight comes in at TPA at 8:45AM (Has anyone have info on TPA is getting a cab hard?) I know we will be at the port a little early! (Any tips on the fact we will be there early) Also with FTTF are we taken to a separate lounge to wait? Finally demarkation, how does this work with FTTF. Concluding... Does anyone have any general tips for TPA, Port of Tampa, Embarkation, Carnival Legend, FTTF, or demarkation in general? Thanks!

  2. We are on the ship 2 weeks from today. I don't want to pay for the sushi--DH doesn't like sushi so he wouldn't go but I love it and usually go down for it by myself before dinner. I hope it is still there....!

You're going to be on the last sailing before her dry dock :) Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have sushi on the buffet before they install the sushi restaurant!

    Have a wonderful cruise!

  3. I've read that they have stopped the sushi bar to accommodate the new fleet wide taste bar! I've read reviews where some say one day during the cruise there is sushi on the buffet. In the Legends dry dock two and a half weeks from now they will be installing Bonsi Sushi on the ship which will be there for the rest of the US sailings, however this is a pay expense.

Thanks for the sail and sign info also! Very helpful! :)

  4. Does anyone know that has been on the Carnival Legend recently if the ship has some sail and sign kiosk locations? I was thinking about setting up a cash account for someone in my party and this would be an easy way to keep an eye on the account and or add cash to it, instead of standing in the long guest services line....

  5. Just got everything figured out! So we got our room switched back to our original room that is AFT, port, Balcony, with sofa bed. Agent on phone was extremely nice and had no issue changing it right back. He stated he did not know why it was changed as he saw the price drop we called about was for the same category and rate! He of course apologized and changed it. It however upsets me that someone (possibly the agent that issued our price drop) changed it without saying anything or even asking permission! By the way the one they switched us to was not a quad.... Glad I had an eye for detail and caught that now instead of when we got our S&S cards!

  6. So when we originally booked our cruise on the Legend we choose our room to be on level 6, balcony, aft, with no obstructed view and also with a sofa bed. However since then I've called carnival cause of price dropped. I just now noticed that our room has changed to the exact same style room however is FWD, which doesn't bother me. What upsets me is that instead of a sofa bed it has a upper bed. My son is 17 and I know he would be much more comfortable on the sofa. Why would they change it? the price drop? I was planning on calling carnival soon will they fix it? Worse comes to worse i guess we could cancel and re-book as it's the same price and we haven't paid in full, however we brought FFTF will that be refunded or no? and I guess there's no guarantee of getting it again..... Help with advice, thanks!

  7. So we're sailing on the Carnival Legend in April of this year visiting the Western Caribbean. Our family wants an excursion of a private beach sort of thing. We're looking for:

    -A private beach

    - Great snorkeling right off shore

    - Cheap food & drinks

    - Nice facilities

    - Not long from the cruise terminal! ***

I noticed in Mahogany Bay Roatan there is an excursion called Tabyana Beach Break can anyone give a review on that and some tips?

Anyone else know of anything like so in the ports of Grand Cayman, Belize, or Cozumel????

    Thanks in advance!

  8. OK, We're sailing on the carnival legend out of Tampa in April after the dry dock when the ship is upgraded to go to Australia. As part of the upgrades I've heard it's suppose to include "Australian Power Points" which I googled and are essentially the plug outlets that are common over in Australia, so will it still have our standard plugs installed for the rest of the Tampa cruises? I was also planning on brining a power strip along to allow use of several more plugs. When it comes to the power strip whats allowed? The reason I ask this is when we sailed on the pride in 2011 they took away my power strip yet I see people taking them on cruises? Are they even allowed in Luggage on airplanes? Thanks in advance!

  9. We definitely want to go with a place that is pay as you go. We would prefer a mix of beach and ocean with snorkeling. I was reading on paradise beach and they ask you to spend $10 p/p in food which is not bad but is it strictly enforced? The only reason I some what steer away from this stuff is because we can easily walk back on the ship and get equally better food for free?

  10. Our family will be cruising on the CCL in April visiting Cozumel for the first time. In my research I've come across two popular places... Nochi Cocum and Paradise Beach. Can anyone give any helpful tips and hints into these places along with their review? Do these places cost? What's there to do? Transportation? We're in port from 10:00-6:00 that day which for us would probably be 10:00-4:00 or 4:30 (we don't like to cut it close) so would time allow us to travel to one of these places? Your help is appreciated! Thanks!

  11. We are going CAVE TUBING next week in Belize! Will write the review on vivtours when we get back. I have heard great things about Little French Key in Roatan and we are doing independent Chankanaab in Cozumel

    Seeya when we get back..............

    -Boomer

Have an awesome time! I'll be sure to read the review! Safe Travels :D

  12. We are cruising on the Carnival Legend this upcoming april on a Western Caribbean cruise calling at Grand Cayman, Belize, Cozumel, and Mahogany Bay. Does anyone have tips, must see, must do things to share? Also anything to avoid or to not waste time on? Also is the popular 7-mile beach in Grand Cayman free? Thanks ahead of time!

  13. We booked our cruise in April this tuesday and did the same as you, and it was sold out however last night I checked after posting a similar thread as this and there was 9 left and we took it. We are 148 days out, apparently they release 15 at a time depending on how many VIP members they have.

  14. Okay I plan on purchasing early bird check in. I also plan on participating in Carnival's Luggage Express. Southwest early bird check in reserves the boarding position 36hrs. prior to the flight and the boarding passes are available to print 24hrs. prior to the flight. Does anyone know how early carnival prepares the documents for you when participating in Luggage Express? Will they know we're apart of early bird check in and know just to print the documents.. I'm confused can anyone help?!?!

  15. Ironically after reading all the replies on my thread, I headed on over to Carnivals site to check to see if any opened up, and there was! There was nine left! I brought mine and so glad I got that out of the way. Eight only remain now! Thanks for everyone's help and we are tendering to two ports I believe Cozumel, and Grand Cayman so this $50 should be worth it.

  16. We're sailing on the Legend... I've recently heard of the sail and sign kiosk (which weren't available on our last cruise) can he manage his account from one of the kiosk? As in insert money to be credited to the account, does it have a cash option at the kiosk? Does anyone know if the Legend has one on board?

  17. Hi Carnival03 :)

When I phoned Carnival I was told the FTTF program

becomes available 120 days prior to the sail date, and

is available to 50 cabins. However I have read otherwise

within a few posts on here.

Some Cruise Critic members have stated they booked the

FTTF program more than 120 days prior to their sail date.

And some members have stated they saw it listed as sold

out and after time passed it became available.

Also, some members have speculated that if not many diamond

& platinum guests are aboard the cruise, more than 50 FTTF

becomes available. Not sure if I agree with that particular

speculation but it is indeed possible.

The bottom line is, I would certainly keep an eye on it. Hope it

becomes available for you, good luck!

    :)

Thanks so much for the insight, checking on FTTF openings will become a daily routine till April!

  18. Yes, just keep checking. FTTF was sold out for months for our Breeze cruise this coming February. about 4-6 weeks ago it opened up again. It was sold out again after 3-4 days.

Thanks for the info. I will for sure be checking up on it. Sounds like a great program.

  19. My husband and I are going on our first cruise this coming Jan to Cozumel and Grand Caymans. I am still trying to navigate the in's and out's of cruising. I am in need of any tips and tricks to make the most of our time and save money. Little known facts, what things are must see, specific tid bits about our ship (Carnival Paradise) etc. For example, we don't drink alcohol but I am addicted to fancy, frozen, fun non-alcoholic drinks. Is there a cheaper way of satisfying my guilty pleasure than just paying out the nose at the bar? What is included with your meals drinks wise and what are you charged for? Is a soda card worth it? How do you get one?Can you order anything besides water with room service without being charged? Lots of silly drink questions I know, but it's seriously is an addiction :) Is there anything free in the spa? Like a sauna? Excursion reccommendations? Are the Mayan ruins worth the full 7 hrs of your time in Cozumel? Been trying to research all of these things and am making very little progress. HELP!!

The soda card is nice and I believe to be worth the money, if you drink a lot of soda. I personally don't care for the water from Carnival nor the tea. Lemonade is pretty good but you can't drink lemonade all week so the soda card is perfect! You can use it in the MDR for dinner also.
