  1. Depends on the ship. On the Sun, you can because the bar is next to starbucks. On others like the Encore, you cant. You take your drink to the bar.
  2. Not so much, but I don’t know if I’ve given them much chance to.
  3. Currently on the Sun with the plus ultra mega package. I wish they had more peated whiskeys than talisker, and they have run out of Ron zacappa 23 in the store room, but overall it’s been good. Ask any questions I’m on until Nov 21. FYI, as of this sailing they are no longer offering the viva vino packages. It’s been an issue with some folks.
  4. I have been able to get bottles of the carton water, pellegrino, aqua pana, and whatever else that bar might have, any bar. I also like stopping by and grabbing a few bottles to take back to cabin for night and the next morning.
  5. Normally after dinner espresso has been covered under the regular drink package when it's in the restaurant. The Premium Plus covered all the drinks at Starbucks, plus all the bottled water, that's why I usually always get it.
  6. My experience has been that the crew, when they see you have the premium package, they let you have everything except the things they know are extra charge, like bottles of wine and such.
  7. Funny story on the Louis, I happened to be on board while the Fleet Bev Manager was on board and we had a discussion of the Louis. She said it was possible to get a couple of ‘drops’ to sample. I was skeptical, and kept questioning if the staff was aware of this. She insisted they were. Next night, I tried ordering the ‘drops’, of course the server was totally confused. Long story short, I got a full serving ‘pour’ of the Louis, for no money. Next morning a friend mentioned to Fleet Bev Manager that they messed up and I’d gotten full pour for free. She was not happy, but friend did not elaborate and played dumb, didn’t want anyone getting fired or in trouble. FBM had to depart that day for another boat, so I didn’t run into her again. I will say based on the serving I tried, it wouldn’t be worth the $100+ that they charge for it.
  8. Usually the bartenders will work at different bars, or rotate on a schedule, so they’ll be familiar with what is in each bar.
  9. It can be a mixed bag, but several of the bars will stock top shelf things, it's not exclusive to the Haven.
  10. I didn’t want to risk it not bein* available with the money it was gonna save me.
  11. Getting ready to spend 41 days on the Sun next week. I hope this gets fixed by then. Please keep us updated if it gets better.
  12. Oh wow!! Last year the local mexican restaurant was offering shots on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for $8. I went many times.
  13. Anyone on the Sun right now that can post the officer list?
  14. I'm due to get on the Sun in a week for 41 days (Seattle to Lisbon). Looking forward to it! Who's your cruise director? How is the entertainment on board?
  15. Excellent post, and I have experienced the same getting the PPBP and it's why I usually keep getting it. When the staff see that you have the package, they will bring out new things to try, or make recommendations. On Epic last year, the Atrium bar knew that I'd stop by after dinner for a couple of glasses of port wine. They managed to get a bottle of a really great port. They said it was the best on the ship and only served in Cagney's, but they always made sure they had a bottle for me. (and I think they might have gotten chewed on a little by the head bar steward as well) People should count the costs if it's worth the upgrade to them, but if you're open to trying new things, the staff will make suggestions when they see you have the package. Also, I love Don Julio 1942. (my funny Don Julio 1942 story, was on my first Panama Canal cruise, 10 years ago. In Cabo, met up with some friends who were vacationing there and their trip overlapped with my port day. We wanted a 'tequila factory' tour, or at least Yelp said one was nearby. Turns out it was a restaurant, with a tequila bar in the foyer, a big fake agave plant, and a big chalk board with a greatly abbreviated process for how tequila is made. I asked the bartender for a smooth sipping tequila, he got out the DJ 1942. Loved the first shot so much, had two more. Then it occurred to me that I should as what the bottle costs, as I'd had three $20/shot. Bottle was $120 😄 )
  16. I've not done the math on the prem plus, but here's been my experience. When the staff see you have the package, they are more likely to suggest high end things for you to try, since they know they won't have to deal with price/how much, those discussions. I've gotten to try things that I'd never pay retail for. (including Louis XIII, which was kind of an accident)
  17. Agreed, this is what I did, saved me several hundred $$
  18. I ended up just calling my PCC and he processed it. He was also going to get me into an OV for no money as well since prices had dropped.
  19. It it shows up for me as well, but I click on it, it says in cart, but that it's $0, and I hit confirm, and it still says $0, but acts like I have it. Something not working right.
  20. Taking long cruise on the Sun starting in October. Anyone on board now who can send a list of the current officers?
  21. The Jewel is doing several this coming Jan and Feb.
  22. The setup seems hit and miss and different on every ship. Last November on Epic it was an unwieldy PDF file on Amazon Fire tablets with not any easy way to search.
