We just sailed out of Port Canaveral on the Getaway on 11/18. Haven. We live close and arrived around 10:00. Dropped bags and parked right on the ramp leading up into the covered parking. Came back down on foot where there was alot of hustle and bustle. We saw a tent that said HAVEN but there were no crew members around and a few passengers standing around wondering what to do. We just walked right past and went up the exterior elevator to the 2nd level where there were greeters directing traffic to the security pass. Once through security we were pointed to the line for the large bank of check in area. I said, "Haven?" Oh, you go this way and pointed behind her. Straight back to a small holding area where you check in and get your card. Snacks, coffee etc. There was a customs delay and while first on board it was around 11:30.

Was on the Getaway last week in DR. Our itinerary just said, Puerto Plata and when we boarded there was the change letter to Amber Cove. We were the only ship there on 11/26 and many enjoyed the swim up pool bar.

Just did a 10 day on the Getaway out of PC. $200 and we parked right on the up ramp into the covered parking and were the first ones off the ship and through the toll. Save your ticket when you enter and then you have to scan it at the exit before inserting your CC.

Fresh off the Getaway it was no problem getting a Blind Russian at the Prime Meridian bar. In fact, Rachel the Rebel bartender said she'd make it straight up or frozen and it was vodka, kahlua and maloneys. I had to google the BR after I saw in a Jamie Logical thread she liked them, it is on one of the bar menus.

Just off the Getaway on Mon. The Haven french dip I had on day 1 was nothing like the french dip I had on day 9. Not nearly as much great lean meat...

I did both the Getaway slides on Sunday and had not only a few knots on the back of my head when I came out but quite the adrenal rush (64 here). I talked one of my new buddies into doing it with me and his wife held all of our worldly goods. There are weight limits and you must be under 300lbs. When my bud stepped on the ticket came out and said, "one at a time please."

We disembarked the Getaway yesterday. 10 days in the Haven. The only time we went over the $15 was a $1 charge for Buffalo Trace a few times and the only bar that had it was the Atrium. Craft beer seemed limited in some areas. We did get the bartender in H2O to ice down beers for us in the hot sun while we watched the World Cup. You just have to educate them with a few bucks to put a new one in when they take one out. They kept a container right behind the bar for us and kept it full of ice. The staff seemed to change often but they were great! Also, my new found buddy and I did a blind taste test of Bailey's for a buck compared to Maloneys for sub-$15 and the difference was not noticeable - especially if like me you toss a shot in with another shot of Kahlua along with a double espresso in a large coffee cup to inspire dancing the night away after dinner!

We just disembarked yesterday. Made and Anita were behind the bar but I think Made only has 3 weeks left in his contract. Alex at the concierge. Darius running the restaurant. And alot of great staff supporting them all.

This is like watching a Scooby Doo where the mask is lifted off a brand new poster only to reveal--------- ----------------------------------it's Karen the jilted Haven lowball bidder!

I searched and could not find useful answers here. If I use the app while onboard is it gonna chew up my very few at sea internet minutes? I have a 10 day approaching with 150 internet minutes. If I peruse the dailies on the app, whooops- would you like to buy more minutes sir?

It would be nice to sip a nice bottle of port at the end of the night on the balcony. Technically, port is fortified wine. I wonder if they will not let me bring a bottle on? Any port lovers bring a bottle?

Aye, all 4 of my grandparents were Irish immigrants. The gift of gab and a strong liver works well on NCL!

Artemis just updated: NASA has requested backup launch opportunities for Wednesday, November 16, at 1:04 a.m. and Saturday, November 19, at 1:45 a.m., which are both two-hour launch windows. A launch on November 14 would result in a mission duration of about 25-and-a-half days with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean Friday, December 9. The Saturday early morning Artemis could give the 11/18 Getaway folks (me included) a double header launch with the Friday 5:30 Falcon for sail away and then the nightcap Artemis blastoff at sea!

AFC East tightening up, thanks J-E-T-S. I was flipping back and forth between Fins/Bears and Bills/Jets wondering if JL made it home to see the game in time... Are you a member of the Bills Mafia? I saw them take over the Elbow Room in Ft. Lauderdale when the Bills visited earlier this year. They are definitely the team to beat.

Where I come from the Booty Special would be misinterpreted.

The only way to sail away is with a real blast! Praying for no delays or postpones due to weather. If it stays on schedule there will be alot of launch watchers in the area, extra congestion near the port.

Who cares about the internet? They have stadium PICKLEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally. Pointy heads. Have. Listened.

I never forget my small plastic baggie(s). Why? Because I fill them with cheerios from the buffet or room servie and then feed the wild donkeys on the islands. They love cheerios. Cheerio!

Was the food good?

Streaming my be a lesson in frustration with lags and buffering. NFL games are played on all tvs (including your cabin) with 3 on Sun, Mon and Thur nights and Sat late in the regular season. If you are in O'Sheehans you'll see about a minute pause and everyone is on pins and needles until the game finally shows up and a loud cheer is made! You'll still have access to some ESPN and sportscenter for highlights. Also, Thanksgiving games are shown too. I've noticed that Steelers and Packers seem to travel very well in their team colors on gamedays. We usually sail out of FL and there will be some Fins, Bucs and Jag fans around too. We once sailed on Celebrity Reflexion over thanksgiving and they set the theater up with big screen and a special bar rolled in to show all 3 games- there was only about 20 people interested and we had a blast!

I miss my kitty and we haven't even left yet. And I will be going to see Cat Daddies on Fri.

What a bunch of Maloney! We're sailing 10 days out of Port Canaveral for Thanksgiving. Who wants to buy my drinks?

Here's one for you: Let's say I bring one of those insulated, stainless steel travel mugs. Will the Haven bartender make me a drink like a margarita or vodka/tonic in it? Or is it ok to just dump his glass drink into my mug? Is it kosher to fill up the mug and then take back to the cabin, say one for the road? How about unopened beers? I would guess gratuity will go a long way here...

For those of you who received the FCC how long did it take until you were notified? I started the 7 day period 9 days ago and have yet to hear anything.
