  1. Thank you so much for this detailed info! This is so helpful!
  2. Any reports on the option to check luggage all the way home from the ship before disembarkation? Not the whole EZAir thing - we booked air travel on our own. I may be calling the service the wrong name, but I mean the thing where Princess takes your checked luggage the last night and gets it to the airline. I've never used it, and not sure they are still offering it since the restart. We will disembark in Port Everglades and would love to not deal with our bags since we have a later flight out that day. Have you used this option with Princess recently? If so, did your bags indeed arrive at your final airport? And, if anyone has done this in Fort Lauderdale, did it make your experience at that small, overrun airport any better? Thanks for any input you may have!
  3. since this has been revived, another question: I have a ship-shaped flash drive that I got when I purchased photos from Princess on previous cruises. It used to be that when I brought it back onboard for the next cruise I got some sort of discount or was able to download photos to it without an extra fee. Something like that, I don't remember exactly what. Does anyone know how it works now? Is it worth bringing along the drive on my upcoming cruise?
  4. We will be a group of 4 with luggage arriving at FLL. Will there be taxis in the stand area that can accommodate us together? I'm assuming yes, since we've never had an issue getting one from the port to the airport, but just wondering if there's something I should be aware of. Thanks to anyone with recent experience!
  5. Thank you so much for this review. We are taking friends with us on Princess soon, who have never cruised. I am reassured by your general good impressions of the line. Hubby and I know we'd have a good cruise anywhere there is sun and a lounge chair, but I so want them to like it!
  6. I've only accidentally picked up roaming charges on St John, never St. Thomas. However, to cover yourself, just go onto your ATT account and activate the foreign day pass option. Then at most you will only be charged $10 for a 24 hour period of roaming.
  7. Thanks for this, we are planning to try Secret Harbor in March. How about getting back to the ship? Do the big taxis stop here regularly? Or is it possible to call one?
  8. @strobellayjam Thank you so much for taking the time to post those! It's been awhile since I've been on Princess so this was a good re-acquaintance and has me so excited for our upcoming cruise on Enchanted!
  9. That would be awesome - thank you!
  10. If anyone is onboard Enchanted in the next several weeks, would love to see Patters if possible...please?
  11. Thanks y'all. I'm not the brightest bulb today. Was confusing with tags from another line. All good.
  12. Never mind. I was confused. Should have measured first, then not posted. Nothing to see here lol
  13. Thanks, this is helpful for setting expectations. Hubby just needs to be able to email for work. I'm assuming, @MissP22, you are able to comment on cruisecritic from the ship wifi. That is my barometer. If I can see and post, he has enough to work.
  14. Thank you for this review! We are looking forward to this itinerary on Enchanted in February. One question: How was the internet?
  15. This is interesting - we booked in 2021 for our Feb 2023 cruise. At the time, there were no Princess Plus or Princess Premier. Instead, we had a promotional price that covered fare, wifi, gratuities, and what they then called the "premier beverage package." When they came out with PPlus, they changed our drink package to the Plus package. No notice, just saw it that way in the planner. Had my TA call and confirm that we were not getting the premier beverages anymore. Princess claimed it was a renaming, not a downgrade. Now when I look at onboard purchases, it shows "Plus Beverage Package including service charges" as a complimentary gift. No mention of old or new, and no 50 notation. I will be curious to see what actually is covered at this point.
  16. Thank you for all this great information, so thoughtfully organized! I'm getting so excited for our February cruise on Enchanted! I saw that you enjoyed the Wake View bar. How was the sunbathing space in that area? Is it an adult only pool? Crowded or relatively easy to find loungers? This has been my favorite spot on other ships that have the aft pool and bar, hoping it will be on Enchanted as well.
  17. Thank you! This is helpful. I originally was getting the same message of check back later with "view or book daily reservations" but that has gone away now. It's a ten day cruise, so I'll probably figure everything out by about day 8 lol
  18. I finally found an answer on a thread on the UK cruise critic that suggested using the web-based version of the app https://www.princess.com/plan/oceanready/ I was able to see dining options and make reservations in that way. A few days later, my regular app on my iPhone seemed to unglitch a little. It still shows "check back closer" if I click explore dining options, but day-by-day it allows me to make reservations. It must be hard to keep the app running smoothly when everyone has such different experiences using it. One person's totally useless is another person's it worked just fine. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and let's hope this is the worst thing that happens for the whole cruise 😜
  19. We, too, have the drink package. And I'm sure, very sure, I will never hit the 15 drink max. But it's nice to know that I can hedge a little bit with happy hour in the lounge 🙃
  20. Did anyone ever figure out the issue when this happens? I'm all paid up, green-laned for boarding, for our February 2023 cruise. People on my facebook group have had no issues booking dining. But everything I click in the app related to any kind of dining - explore options, add reservation, view menu - all lead to the "check back closer to cruise" screen. I've deleted app and reinstalled, signed in and out, restarted phone. So frustrated.
  21. Perfect - this is exactly what I was hoping. Thank you!
  22. Sorry if this has been answered a million times and I just couldn't find it: In the suite concierge lounge, am I correct that there are (alcoholic) drinks served in the evening? And if so, are these included as part of the experience or are they charged against the room/drink package? I'm trying to figure out if it's worthwhile to plan a pre-dinner linger in the lounge, like on Royal Caribbean, or if we are better off heading to a bar or just drinking our own wine in the room. Will be on Enchanted if that matters. Thanks for any insight!
  23. ATL is huge and you will most likely have to take a tram to switch terminals. As long as your flight lands on time, you should be ok. But if you are delayed, it can be dicey. I fly delta a lot, and have more than once had to actually run to make a connection in ATL that should have been "enough" time. I hate when they "help me out" by tightening my connection time. It may be worth looking online to see when the next flight runs. Even if you opt not to call and ask to be switched, it always makes me calmer to know that if I do miss a connection, there is another flight they can put me on. Often, though, I call and point out that this is not my choice, and if there is another flight they will switch me at no charge. YMMV And pasodancer is right, you want to be as close to the door as possible. You can lose a ton of time waiting on people who do not have tight connections to deplane.
  24. Steve is great - we've insured with him for years @moposhIt's my understanding that if you buy the insurance from the cruise line, it only covers the cruise. So if you had an issue that prevented you from getting to the ship to take the cruise, you are not covered at all. For example, the weather this spring that prevented some folks from getting to PC from up north, when the flights were all cancelled. The airlines refunded the ticket but I know of at least one person who had only RC insurance and lost the cost of the cruise he could not get to. Steve always describes his coverage as "from the minute you leave the driveway"
  25. Thank you! Your experience is exactly what I'm hoping for! And what a smart idea about the water. We will definitely copy you on that!
