Yes, two traditional but the 3X was meant for the MDR as a whole. With the current set up of MTD (starting at 6:30 or later), they may get 2X turnover of tables if that, but it is only one part of the MDR. Back in the days of Dynamic Dining on Q class, the plan was to have 3X turnover of tables.

Don't use anything but the RCI planner itself. Not only will it show actual availability, but it will also show the price (which varies by date/ship).

It doesn't even have to be kids - put anyone, even adult, on the booking to trigger the algorithm for the lower price (just one person is needed).

They don't because that is dynamic number - they can change based on number of tables and arrangements of those tables, but figure just over 1/3 of 100% capacity - they can seat everyone turning over the tables 3x. In some articles on the "regular" Q class dining venues are listed at about 430 seats (x4 venues) or about 1700 in the whole MDR.

The Q class ships before Odyssey/Spectrum are like that but they are just as cramped. RCI MDR = cramped (regardless of ship).

Yes, but OP priced it using a GTY rate, which hasn't traditionally been cheaper for 4 people than 2. Obviously, things are different for Icon class. Once everyone knows to put in an extra person to get a discount, everyone will be doing it, and the pricing algorithm may change. We have had a solo surcharge, for Icon class we'll have the couple surcharge.

Yes. Not sure what you mean by walk up, but very rarely will they let you take more than your one free allotment even if they have open slots. If you are a couple and the second person doesn't want to do it, they will typically let you use the second persons allotment.

Realistically, you don't need to do anything before showing up at the pier but have your booking number written down/memorized - that's the number they read from the barcode in the SetSail pass when the check in agent scans it (on paper or on a device).

Invest the time to go to the venue on the first day and talk to the staff about when/how to book.

Yes, on some ships the entire check in process and availability of the SetSail pass has been removed making use of a mobile vice and the app a requirement (if you want to use it at all).
