  1. My assumption here is that this is an error in the package. The Sea Pavilion is the name of Asian theme restaurant on MSC Splendida and Virtuoso, and possibly others. Seaside has Asian Market Kitchen as its Asian specialty place (actually two places in one: Hibachi, and fusion place. When we sailed Seaside when it first came to the US, the specialty dining experience in the Asian market was the ubiquitous Kaito Experience Menu. Looks like that changed to the fusion experience. Much nicer choices!
  2. Seashore and Seascape are sister ships, with the Seascape slightly larger (145 more passengers). Color schemes are slightly different, but you'll find it hard to tell the difference between Seascape and Seashore. Biggest difference is that Seascape has Robotron, the robotic ride on Deck 20.
  3. You are most welcome. I would check all three rental agencies at that Mullet Rd. location: Alamo, National, and Enterprise. Even though they have the same overall owner, they do act a bit differently. I would go directly through their websites, and not use a travel site.
  4. They will want you out of your cabin by 8:00 a.m. at the latest, and will want you off the ship by 10. Walk-offs usually start by 7:00 a.m. Keep in mind that people on the next cruise can't board until everyone on your cruise disembarks and the Coast Guard "zeroes" out the boat to allow embarkation. If I had a late flight like yours, I would rent a car to take the day to go to Disney Springs (or wherever), The shuttles to the rental location on Mullet Rd. run very frequently. We never had a surcharge for the one-way rental, so you should only be charged for a normal day (I use Enterprise personally, but assume it would be the same for Alamo).
  5. Nice idea, but money won't help right away. The entire IT staff is very busy right now with all of their end of school activities. It may get worse next year, as they transition from half-day kindergarten to full-day first grade.
  6. I believe the "Sunshine Party" is most likely more of a disco and Flower Power 70's as a theme (think KC and the Sunshine Band!). The parties have been a mixed bag for us on MSC over the years. White has been large and small (depending on level of crowd participation, as Georgia Peaches pointed out). There was a clip on YouTube about a Sunshine Party on Bellissima last December:
  7. It can be a pretty good descent (and then climb!). On Seashore, we went from Top Sail on16 to the casino on 7.
  8. It is! I was just teasing no1 talks! I never tire of Soprano (or Godfather, for that matter) clips!
  9. We are now beginning "summer rerun season", it appears! 😉
  10. Yes, you have to wait until you get on board. If you have dates and times in mind, you can stop by one of the restaurants that have a host or greeter standing outside (usually one person in Butcher's Cut). They can enter your reservations into the system. If you are in Yacht Club, the concierge can do it for you.
  11. We were in YC, but it did work without the light switch being on. That may have been a change with Seashore/Seascape build. Of course, it could have been a fixture only in YC, I suppose.
  12. No electric outlets on either side of the bed. The bathroom has one single outlet under a cover. The cover lifts, but not fully. We plug in a small night light.
  13. I think relying on an MSC document that is two-years old may not carry a lot of weight. More recently, MSC has outlined the the signature venues. Hola is included, since it is not technically an MSC product. It is separately owned, like Venchi:
  14. If you are Aurea, no, but you can go when you want. If you like your table and servers on the first night, you could let the maitre d know you would like that for set dining. I'm sure they would be able to accommodate you.
  15. Exactly. You may want to check when you board, but on Seaside, there is no dedicated Aurea dining room. They have usually carved out a portion of the Seashore dining room on Deck five for My Choice.
  16. If you are Aurea, it is automatic. There is no need or way to request anytime dining. No worries. Your confirmation will show your dining time as "My Choice" (MSC's term for anytime dining).
  17. I think if you plan on checking out at 11:00 and heading over, you will be fine. They probably won't begin boarding until 10:45 or so. They generally do not check your issued embarkation time, so you should be okay!
  18. Well, Clbl99 will be very disappointed if they go to Port Canaveral! Seascape sails from POM!
  19. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hardy on board MSC Meraviglia. He is a very nice gentleman, and coupling this with the fact that he is Canadian [Remember, Canadians apologize (Oops, apologise!) for something that was someone else's fault!], I can assure you that no malice was intended on his part.
  20. Perhaps this dramatic hidden camera photo will prove the threat concerning the scourge of Vermont pirates.
  21. Same for us! We were recently in YC on Meraviglia. We got the same message back prior to the cruise. I always carry an extension cord, and I've always gotten distilled water. You can ignore the message, but you will likely have to remind your butler or junior butler. Overall, we had no problem, but always with MSC, YMVV!
  22. Plattsburgh is so close to the pirate-infested waters of Vermont! Would the Coast Guard allow sailing from Plattsburgh?
  23. People are being a bit too hard on the OP. Originally, the OP asked about cruises out of NY. Upon realizing that people may interpret NY as the state of New York, which would make readers, of course, think the OP was referring to Buffalo, the cruise capitol of the East, the OP quickly leaped in and clarified the question to be about NYC. The OP then stressed that it was NYC again. And again. And again. But I digress.....
  24. It think that this effort may be lost on the OP!
  25. I think if you just use the stairs in the public area by rooms 14193/91, you would be fine, you still have to go a bit more toward midship to be in the actual buffet area.
