  1. But more to hold our heads up high about. But truly in the grand scheme of things England has been at it much longer than the USA. So they've had much more opportunity to influence. For better or worse.
  2. I hope it's clear to those discussing this that Oceania does not offer a guarantee until the available cabins in a category are sold out. So, you can't pick your room in a specific category if there is a guarantee offered in that category. Just like many other things that are different from many of the main lines you have to readjust your thinking for Oceania. It's their world their way, not what other lines do or have done in the past. Not that it's good or bad, it's just the way they do it.
  3. Let's add this from the O website. They don't have Vista on the website yet. Owner’s Suite, Vista Suite and Oceania Suite Advance reservations may be made on the date final payment is due and has been received until 7 days prior to sailing, which varies between 90 and 150 days, depending on length of sailing. Penthouse Suite Reservations may be made 75-7 days prior to sailing, if the booking is paid in full. Concierge Level Veranda Reservations may be made 60-7 days prior to sailing, if the booking is paid in full. All Other Categories Reservations may be made 45-7 days prior to sailing, if the booking is paid in full. and then this: Guests are permitted to make the following reservations in our specialty restaurants - which vary by ship, category and length of cruise: Marina and Riviera Owner’s Suite, Vista Suite and Oceania Suite Cruises 7 days or less: 1 reservation at each restaurant Cruises 8-17 days: 2 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 3 reservations at each restaurant Penthouse Suite Cruises 17 days or less: 1 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 2 reservations at each restaurant Concierge Level Veranda, Veranda, Ocean View and Inside Stateroom All cruises: 1 reservations at each restaurant Insignia, Nautica, Regatta and Sirena Concierge Level Veranda and above Cruises 7 days or less: 1 reservation at each restaurant Cruises 8-17 days: 2 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 3 reservations at each restaurant All other categories Cruises 17 days or less: 1 reservations at each restaurant Cruises 18 days or more: 2 reservations at each restaurant
  4. I'm pretty sure he's right, on the O Ships Martinis, Grand Bar & Hallway and GDR are on deck 6, starboard.
  5. If Oceania uses the same berth at Canaveral then there are no operators there at all. You will need to set up and plan in advance if you are going to DIY there. The things you see people talking about on the Ports Of Call are at the docks used by Disney & Carnaval. I've been there 2 or 3 times on Oceania and the area they dock at is just a huge empty parking lot. Having said all that do try to go to the Space Center. I loved it.
  6. Well, not so much, or maybe if it wasn't for the obnoxiously grating tone of her voice. I don't tolerate East Coast brash that well.
  7. Glad you had a good experience. I do know that it's a breakfast place, and the full name is International House Of Pancakes. I ate there once and had to send the eggs back twice. At that point I was starting to wonder what they would do to my food, we got up and left, have never been back. But you have to wonder, just how hard is it to prepare eggs over medium in a place that specializes in breakfast food?
  8. From my previous experience as long as you spend a minimum of $1000 that is billed to Oceania cruises it works fine.
  9. It will work on an existing booking but you must have been targeted for the offer and applied it to your card.
  10. In this instance it is the sound of an airplane going over head. Maybe you've never seen it an internet board before. Maybe I made it up, it's gonna go viral.
  11. Right, what’s up with that? Let’s spend thousands of dollars and see things that very few are fortunate to see and spend the whole time being miserable. Life’s too short for that.
  12. Not really, it means you didn’t understand what he was saying.
  13. Staff serves food but there are some items that you get yourself. Also condiments are shared.
  14. Once again you're talking about things you know nothing about, other than what you've read. But thankfully we didn't have to read through your list of dates, cabins, and what you paid for them.
  15. Interesting, it must be a Delta thing that we couldn't check in until 8:05 for an 10;30 boarding. I had Priority Pass with my Hilton card but they have now discontinued that as a perk and raised the price. For the most part I've liked their lounges, especially that one that had a serve yourself bar. We also had that secondary search, just wondering if it was really necessary. We didn't have to power down any electronics for taxi and takeoff. Must be an AA thing.
  16. Yet you've never been on Vista, so how do you know for sure other than others opinions you've seen here and elsewhere? I've never been on Vista either so I really have no opinion on it.
  17. Maybe there used to be. I think when the NEXT refits were done they may have removed some. I remember a big bruhaha at the time. I'm not sure on the Vista Suites or Owner's Suites
  18. Yes, those are all nice perks. I was actually referring to the top cards from the airlines that get you in their specific lounges. Access to the lounges is their top marketing point. The cards you and JYDcruise mention have many other options and perks, with lounge access being one of them. Either way in the scenario I mentioned no one has access to a lounge with that time frame unless there are lounges pre check in at the Santiago airport.
  19. Just to add a little more to this. Just because Final Payment has been made doesn't mean that they automatically ticket your flight. But final payment must be made before flights are ticketed. It must be requested. Final payment I believe is now at 150 days. Usually you will find out your flight assignment at 70 days, and then it will be ticketed at approximately 45 to 30 days. Deviation changes everything in the above scenarios, this is accomplished by payment or having 15 cruises or more with Oceania.
  20. I just activated an offer on my White Everyday card for 20,000 membership points for $1000 spend on Oceania. Since I have a final coming due next month it will work out great for me. I like free money and free points. Better check your cards, I have a lowly card with no annual fee. The only time I use it is when an offer like this comes along. I'd think better cards would have even better offers.
  21. But they do have a whole new airport, but not a water fountain in the place. Only water available is to purchase in single use plastic bottles. Maybe we need to send all the environmentally conscious folks down here to give them some training. Should be a no brainer.
  22. For those that don’t like to hear about things they don’t like better not read this, but it appears updates on what’s happening around the ship seem to be a 3 or 4 time a day occurrence. This had happened my last 3 or 4 cruises. Apparently there are going to be new entertainers on the upcoming cruise as at least half of them are at the airport. There is a new Cd taking over. It’s a young lady from the UK, SR will have to fill you in on names. Peter will be onboard through Ushuaia then go home from there. Meanwhile I have another hour and a half before we can check in our bags. Who designed this system? Boarding time is 22:25, can’t check bags until 20:05, that gives us two hours and twenty minutes to check in, go through security, get to our boarding gate and maybe have time for a quick bathroom break before boarding for a 10 hour flight. Tell me where the advantage would be to pay over $500 annual fee for a credit card that gives you lounge access in this situation? Oh yeah, they recommend you be at the airport 3 hours early for an international flight. OK. Flying, the funnest part of a trip. I’m not grumbling. Just tired.
  23. Ad far as I know we don’t get upgrade flights free either. At least not from Oceania
