I’m very excited to be cruising on the beautiful Anthem of the Seas in December and it’s my first time on this class of ship. I cruise solo, and have made several lunch and dinner reservations at Jamie’s Italian.

I’ve notice in videos and pictures that it has an outside dining area, and was wondering if this is to some degree climate controlled, or does it get too hot in there to be comfortable, especially cruising the Caribbean? I thought it would be nice to sit out there and enjoy the view while waiting on the next meal course to be delivered.

Been on her 3 times, dined at Jamie's three times, Outside dining area was never open. Maybe if it's still in port at night? Never was during sea days for dinner outside.

  2. Do you miss it?  I never thought I would but I really do. They have the best Schooner Bar in the fleet. I miss it so much. I also really miss every venue having direct views to the sea.  I'm in my 40's now so all the bells and whistles aren't as important anymore.  Know what else I miss? They still have a true Cinema with stadium seating. Sure its a little gimmicky if you will but I love it. Nice to have that option maybe on rainy sea day or something.  I also love where SeaView Cafe is, now Izumi. SeaView Cafe was the hidden little food gem back in the day.

Anyone who hasn't sailed on one in awhile, Are there things you miss about Radiance class ships?

  3. God bless anyone who has the financial means and time to achieve pinnacle status. If I live another 20 years maybe just maybe I’ll hit 340 points. And please don’t take what I said personally before I was just busting chops.  I enjoy meeting fellow cruisers who share the passion.

  4. I got em for $95, then the beach cabana at Coco Beach Club dropped from $1,399 to $699. I canceled the day pass for the cabana. I would only do it again if there were 2 ships docked. We also treated that day as our specialty dining day. The food was very, very good.

Cabana Tip: The fridges at Coco Beach Club Cabanas barely work, those beers have definitely been skunked.

No problem with the food in the MDR, or for that matter, the Windjammer, but for us, the more we cruise, the less patience we have with the MDR experience. It takes so long…

This one throws me for a loop in my 18 cruises on Royal I’ve never had slow service in the main dining room ever. Specialty restaurants are hands down at least double the length of time.

Are you on a CC roll call for an upcoming cruise. Often, someone plans an informal meet and greet.

I go as far as saying on a roll call that I booked a cruise and look forward to it. I went to one meet and greet I believe on the serenade of the seas and it just wasn’t my cup of tea or maybe just the people weren’t.
