  1. Based on recent posts, expect to wait in a 30 minute line for said sandwich. Or longer now that there will be more demand with complimentary room service gone.
  2. Unless a Maitre D makes a one time exception, you're not allowed to switch back and forth between assigned time and YTD. If you want to eat earlier one night you could always eat at the Lido or make specialty dining reservations.
  3. Royal will make both pax buy the alcohol package online but people on here report being able to call in and order the higher-tier non-alcoholic package (basically Cheers minus the alcohol), not just the soda package, for the non-drinker.
  4. Yes, really, even if pregnant. If visibly pregnant Carnival won't serve you alcohol, but their line is that person can still get a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks with Cheers. e.g. bottled water, soda, juices, mocktails, premium coffee and tea, shakes...
  5. Especially when the second passenger who has to buy it isn't a big drinker. But as long as people keep buying it under the current conditions, they'll gladly sell it.
  6. I don't have or travel with kids. I think people who do should pay for the privilege of sending them to Camp Carnival. I'm not in recovery so I think the people who go to Friends of Bill W should pay to rent the space they use for meetings onboard. I don't go to karaoke so I think people should pay per song. I don't use the waterside so think people should pay per slide. At what people does someone become so self-centered that only what they value should be included in the cruise fare, or so cheap that they're okay with Carnival becoming a Motel 6 on the seas, where your fare only includes your accommodations and you pay a la carte for everything you do, eat, or drink? Except of course what they personally value.
  7. @logan25 You misspelled shoe leather
  8. Carnival does not allow only one person in a cabin to purchase Cheers under any circumstances... other person is pregnant, recovering alcoholic, has medical reasons why they can't drink, roommate has DOU. No exceptions whatsoever if both people in room are 21+.
  9. When finding a late night snack began requiring you to make an extra trip to the Lido to get food to stash away or wait 30 minutes for pizza, I started ordering a cheese plate to go every night in thw MDR when I order dessert. That's now my snack when I come back late from the casino.
  10. Check out the thread on yesterday's announced room service changes. For some, that may be the straw the broke the camel's back.
  11. Exactly. At one point I would have called them Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. They're becoming that old hotel, way past its prime, that only cares about cutting costs vs. investing anything in the customer experience and can only meet the standards to rebrand as a Motel 6.
  12. When the cheerleaders succumb to the KoolAid they've been drinking
  13. I second the "no" answer. Lots of posts on here over time and the answer was always no, not under any circumstances.
  14. Yes. Pre-COVID they gave you a form to fill out, so the steward couldn't stop you from checking AM and PM. Post-restart the steward asks you AM or PM, so easier to insist on one or the other.
  15. They were trying to push once a day, but twice a day was still officially available, even if the stewards didn't want to admit it. After restart, once a day became the standard, although it sounds like some of the stewards are still doing twice day, possibly by request.
  16. COVID also gave them an excuse to go from optional once a day stateroom service to mandatory stateroom once a day stateroom service.
  17. At the time I had a friend on the CD's staff (now the Fun Squad) who said Carnival Corporated prohibited them from promoting it, other than listing it as an upcoming event in the Fun Times earlier in the week and one line on the daily schedule in the day of. As popular as the Captain's party was, does anyone think there would have been "lack of guest interest" if they promoted a party with free drinks the same way they promote Inch of Green, art auctions, the spa, the steakhouse, etc.? Carnival thinks they're sly with their planted obsolescence schemes to ultimately cut amenities and death by a thousand cuts so they can ultimately blame "lack of guest interest" but some of us have seen it multiple times, are on to their game, and are voting with our feet and wallets.
  18. Great idea, that will be even cheaper than the trinkets they give away now!
  19. Have you seen the amount of wasted food at the buffet? People are going to waste complimentary food whether they order it to their room or get it at the buffet. There may actually be more wasted now that most people will go to the Lido vs. paying for room service because there's much a bigger variety of food to pile on your plate leave then uneaten.
  20. People will stop ordering when they have to call in their breakfast order (not order on the door hanger) and get tired of waiting 30 minutes for someone to answer, then Carnival will say it was due to lack of guest interest. Just like they got rid of the formal night Captain's cocktail party and said they were replacing it with the Fun Farewell party, then they intentionally didn't promote that so they could later cut it due to, you guessed it, "lack of guest interest."
  21. I I love it how they start the email how they've been watching guest patterns since the restart, as if people suddenly stopped ordering complimentary room service since then. Then they obfuscate the point that complimentary room service is going away other than at breakfast and give every excuse except the real reason that they're trying to cut every cost they can. More of the continued death by a thousand cuts to Carnival's product pushing me to book on other cruiselines.
  22. His milkshake brings all the boys to the Lido deck🎵🎶
