  1. We did it once. We were booking an inside room and really didn't care where we were since it was inside. We ended up on deck 8 aft on Breeze which was perfect for us as we prefer aft. I'd do it again if we ever booked another inside. Otherwise I prefer to pick my room.

  2. If you assume you'll be disappointed, you will be. We prefer RC ships, but Carnival atmosphere. We aren't huge drinkers, it just seems more relaxed and fun. The reason we've decided to stick mostly to Carnival is the itineraries. They're always changing and we like the variety. We'd love to sail Allure again, but we aren't fans of the itineraries.

  3. Pre pay your tips, it's so much easier than having them added to your account. As for cash, we typically bring $500 or so. We bring at least $150 of that in ones and fives for tips for room service, taxi, porter etc.

My one tip for a first time cruiser is to bring a pop up hamper- your suitcases for under the bed and that's where most put their dirty laundry but with a pop up hamper you don't have to get on the floor and drag your bag out to put your laundry away.

Enjoy your cruise, I hope you have a fabulous time!

  4. The only photo I know of on the home screen is to upload a photo of yourself to use as your profile pic. Kind of like FB, Instagram, etc. I think it's asking you for permission to access your photos on your phone so you can pick your profile picture.

I've used the app twice on board and there's no link to view your photos taken on board from the Hub app. You still have to go to the wall and search for your pictures.

  5. We did a beach excursion at Atlantis. Honestly, we thought it was a dump. The employees were not friendly, and we didn't think it lived up to the hype. We did explore many areas of the resort. It's disappointing and we aren't hard to please.

  6. We stayed in a cove on the Breeze a few months ago. Personally, we prefer a balcony higher up. (On dream class it'd have to be aft though as I don't want to overlook the promenade)

The best part of a cove was being on a low deck coming back from ports- just a quick dash up the stairs. We didn't like being so far from everything else. We also missed being in the sun while on the balcony. It seemed dark.
