  1. That would be helpful, but I doubt that they will. I was surprised that they did not have someone in this capacity already. When we were at first going to New Guinea, the info available on obtaining a visa was confusing and contradictory. When I called Regent for advice, the agent just recommended trying a visa service. Thankfully, Regent changed the itinerary, and we bypassed New Guinea.
  2. The Indonesia visa is good for 90 days. As Ioriva said "it is a fussy process" involving scanning your passport (which will never lay flat enough!) Takes many tries to get an acceptable scan. We had an account for both, but did not try a family one - it may be possible. So I don't think Regent could do this without your passport in hand.
  3. For us, when I checked two of our booked cruises: one was only about $200 less for same level of cabin. The other, a Tokyo to Tokyo in 2025 was $1300 less for same level. We had our TA ask about this one, and the our total was reduced immediately.
  4. I didn't know you could get 1/2 order of popcorn sundae. Thanks for the info. I will certainly try that!
  5. Thank you Stefkan We had heard these exact complaints from some friends who did the excursion with Viking. We naively thought "well, Regent would be better" Now that you have confirmed that it seems to be the same exact trip, we cancelled and picked another excursion in Cairns.

  7. Hi! We are on this cruise also and really looking forward to it. Although we generally find Regent Pre/Post tours good, we do NOT feel this one would be! Most importantly, it is only an outdoor tour of Sagrada Familia. NO! You must see the inside. It is fabulous! It also does not include Park Guell - that iconic picture of Barcelona is taken there. Another not to miss place! I would strongly suggest getting a centrally located hotel, book a private tour that includes at least inside Sagrada, Park Guell, and one or two of the Gaudi houses (Casa Mila or Batilo). If possible include a walking tour of the gothic area. Since we are travelling a lot this spring, and since we have seen all of the above, at this point we are just flying home at the end of cruise. But Barcelona is my favorite city, so that may change 😉
  8. Our March 19, 2025, Tokyo to Tokyo cruise seems to have not changed. I hope it does not since this is my first trip to Japan and want an overview. Then may come back for more targeted land tour.
  9. Oh my. You are the wonderful Cruise Critic Roll Call lady! Thanks again! If anyone can get to Xian - please go. But get your visa first.
  10. Absolutely! We may have been on your post-cruise to Xian (February 2019??) On Cruise Critic Roll Call one very knowledgeable woman said we needed a visa for China for this. I called Regent multiple times (we were using a Regent TA at that time) and was always told that we did NOT because we were on a tour. The woman was adamant we did. This question went on until late December. This post tour was most of the reason we booked the cruise. The problem was that we were going to Egypt in January and only had three weeks between that trip and leaving for Asia. The wonderful Cruise Critic Roll Call lady helped us (by email) get everything ready for visa - it was complicated!! The day we returned from Egypt, we over-nighted our application and passport to a service with expedited fees. Got passport with visa back in time! So so glad we did! On the day we were leaving for Egypt, Regent FINALLY sent us an email that we did indeed need a visa. We could never have completed that application and sent passport in time, expedited or not. We would have missed by far the best tour we ever took. Not only were the terra cotta warriors incredible, the whole tour was terrific. Lesson learned - always check the state dept. site for what you need and not rely on TAs, cruise line, etc.
  11. Good to know the veranda was usable
  12. Thanks. Good info there. No one commented on a veranda problem there only tender winch noise.
  13. On upcoming April's trans Atlantic cruise on the Grandeur, when we booked much of it was waitlisted, so we upgraded to a pent house (first time!) but the only available one was on deck 6. I especially enjoy sitting on the veranda watching the ocean. However, someone said that the verandas on the lower decks are often unusable due to sea spray. Has anyone been on deck six in any of the newer (Grandeur, Explorer, Splendor) ships? Did you find that to be true? That would be so disappointing
  14. On our last cruise before covid in late February Carribean Riviera, they had a system in which they would periodically come around and put a card (with a time noted) on unoccupied saved loungers. If also said if still unoccupied in 1/2 hr (or maybe 1 hr - I can't remember) the contents would be removed and placed on a table at one end (the table of shame) This worked very well!!! There was no problem finding a place in the shade on that cruise. The usual chair hogs did not feel they have to hog since a place was almost always open. Makes a much nicer experience for everyone! Oceania did it before and can do again.
  15. Our Grandeur April 10 trans Atlantic roll call is now missing. I remember seeing it previously. Do they just come and go at times?
  16. We have been on several Regent cruises using their air with no problems. We always book a concierge level so go in one day ahead of cruise.
  17. Then can you give us any suggestions as to "how to utilize them" ???
  18. It was a tours by locals Kotor, Perast private tour with speed boat. We had a group of 6 and did not do the longer tour that included lunch (but that would probably ave been nice) We had a male guide (not sure of his name, maybe Ivan?) Hope this helps.
  19. We have been to many ports. Kotor is one of the best. You can easily walk around with beautiful vistas, a walk of the walls, good shopping. However, we took a private tour which pointed out some sites we might have missed, and included a boat trip to the beautiful island with a church that you would have passed by on your way there. It was beautiful and interesting. On the way back, in a boat - way smaller than our cruise ship - with local music playing, we cruised back thru that incredible fjord and we experienced "wow - this is the life!!!"
  20. We have found that the Regent dining experience is mostly very nice, but some meals on Oceania (either in Jacques or Red Ginger) are memorable.
  21. I could not agree with you more about dropping Jacques on the Vista was ill advised!!! One of the reasons we book Oceania is Jacques and Red Ginger. Many ships are beautiful, many have great service and itineraries, but only Oceania has some restaurants which are memorable. I guess I like food, and my palate has developed over time. Might I suggest at Jacques the sea bass in puff pastry for 2? Memorable. About the only food pic I have ever taken. Also, consider the pea vichyssoise. First spoonful OK. Next spoon OHHH. The first time I realized what depth of flavor is. It is a small portion. So try it!
  22. Back in October, I thought this was a snarky comment since that was what it was going to be for us ("That's a suckers (sic) bet"). I am almost afraid to write this out, but we just got our flight, and I could not have asked for any better. A one stop (in Houston) from Pittsburgh to Sydney with decent connection time. I am so grateful. We had previously always been treated well for flights by Regent, but these posts had me so worried!
  23. How about the popcorn sundae?? I am usually not a desert eater, but I save room for this.😋
