So let's review...
Testing is not 100%
Wearing a mask is not 100%
Hand washing is not 100%
Temperature Checks are not 100%
Social Distancing is not 100%
And when you combine all of these together you're in better shape but not 100%
Let's go cruising. 😳

Not letting it dominate me... that's for sure. We have a Plan B in place. If we cruise, we cruise. If we don't, we don't.

Easy...
Hmmm. Thank you. About 4or 5 of these arm chairs are history.

I have only one cruise booked and there is no L & S cruise available for us.

If they could cook a fresh and juicy burger in the Windjammer, none of this would be necessary. Instead we get either a dried out slab of meat or a floppy piece nothing.
I'm convinced that they seriously do not know how to properly cook & serve up a burger. They learn how to cook up some wonderful dishes through out a cruise but when it comes to a good juicy burger... they fail.

It wouldn't be open on Sundays.
Really doesn't even need to be. I mean most are off the ship by 10am and when we board, the last thing on my mind is fast food joint... even if it's Chick-Fil-a

Is Sonic even still around? I haven't been to one since high school. From what I remember I always liked them. I wouldn't mind them on a ship. Someone mentioned What-A-Burger. Growing up we always went there. Great burgers at least back then.
Sonic (Oklahoma based) still going strong. They have quite an extensive menu for fast food. In the past few years, they've added drive thru lanes but you can still get car hop service as well.
Whataburger (Texas based) is still the #1 burger in Texas and surrounding states. They recently sold 49% of their interest to a Chicago group. The founder's kids are retiring and the younger family has no interest in managing thousands of burger houses across the country. So they sold out but kept the majority interest. It's expected the franchise will go nationwide now.

Am I right, CA😉
It's rare, but we had In & Out last night after the grandson's ball game. Their fries are much smaller, but not too bad.

Dont think i would miss it at all .
I have read on these boards that Guys burgers on that other cruise line is better and free
all day long. Never been on Carnival , so just going on what i read.
Five Guys > Johnny Rockets. Hands down... w/o a question.

Some need to get real. Some are so niave to think that science can not be an arm of a political party or paid for a particular point of view. Research paid for & financed by individuals and groups. Thousands upon thousands of scientists world wide are attempting to find a vaccine. Yet to think that the Director of the CDC thinks his words are powerful enough to tell us that in 8 to 12 weeks the pandemic can end with wearing masks. I'm embarassed for some & feel sorry for others. BTW, this is the guy that will also tell us all when & if we can go on a cruise again.
With that.. I'm out.

Bars and restaurants. No testing, no masks. There is growing evidence that a combination of testing, masks, and cleaning is effective.
I do. It seems to be working in controlled environments where masks are mandatory - colleges and universities are doing better than expected so far.
So you think just wearing masks will end a pandemic? Wow & I thought you believed in 'science'?

I'm very curious... please sound off...
Who actually believes that if every one wore a mask the pandemic would be over in 8 to 12 weeks?
Me: No way Jose... Dr. Science Man & Director of CDC

I think some are on a 4th & 5th wave.

Not really. I know cruise workers get paid very low. However, in their home country they would make less. I doubt there will be a shortage of people to fill the positions.
This.

I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to come to that conclusion. I'm certain Dr. Redfields assertion is based on science and what the agency knows based on the data they're reviewing. He's hardly the only Doctor to say this. As far as who's controlling the message, we're not to discuss such things here so I'll refrain from taking the bait.
I'm glad you're certain. Many are not any longer.

That's all well & good, but you didn't answer my question. And you're the one that said the nmessage is being controlled. So who's controlling the message, "We are nowhere near the end." ?

"They" are not indecisive. Its outside influences that are controlling messaging and policy. That's the problem.
OK... let's say I buy what you're peddling. Then tell me who is controlling this message,
"Nowhere near the end."
Here's (3) changes that took a whole two minutes to google, share, and post. There are more. It's to the level that they're looking like my comfortable and nearly worn out flip flops. You can google more if you need to.

More false positive testing?
Can you imagine flying to Rom from the US for a 11 night cruise and being test in this fashion?
This is going to suck for some future cruisers.

It's only Monday. By Friday, the CDC will have reversed this a couple of times. They are so indecisive that it's difficult to follow them and/or believe in them any longer.

We have a nice group on a Celebrity Roll Call that has been pretty active and also planning excursions. Even pre-Covid I noticed that some roll calls were dormant while others were pretty active. I think it has more to do with the type of cruise & the ship. I have found that European cruises have roll calls that are always pretty active.

Very funny
When the death toll from Covid 19 gets to 340,000 (most projections say it will) it will mean that in less than a year, for every 1000 American citizens there was a death
That's NOT nothing
Then wear a mask, social distance, and stay home when you can. Your choice.

https://doh.sd.gov/news/coronavirus.aspx#SD
Here is South Dakota's problem. This is active cases by age. This paints a clear picture of the problem not just in SD but the whole US. The young ones could care less. The "what's in it for me" or "what do I get" mentality is literally killing us.
Nothing wrong with this picture. It looks like folks are developing anti-bodies. Deaths is the only measurements that's needed. Reduce death counts.

Give it a break. EVERYONE is going to die. How many deaths in SD below 70?
33 minutes ago, flyguyjake said:The 7 day moving avg is 10.9% positivity rate.

In comparison:
CA 2.8
NY 0.9
TX 9.9
WA 3.4
SD 24.2
ND 7.1
More fearmongering. You're full of fearmongering stats. So tell us about that 24.2%. Are they over 70? Under 21? Are they dying? Are they out of hospital beds? And lastly, more importantly... if you're scared or worried, don't go to SD. You have choices.
