  1. Last May, I arrived on time for our check in for Arvia at 12.05 for a boarding time of 12.15 and was still waiting in the queue at 12.30!
  2. We flew out to Malta from Bristol in 2022 (TUI) we had to collect our luggage from the carousel and it was then transported by lorry to the ship and we re-united with it outside our cabin. On the return journey the cases were put out the night before and we collected them at Bristol. Earlier this year we flew (Jet2 charter) to Tenerife again from Bristol and had to collect our luggage on arrival. It was then transported on the coach we travelled to in to the port. It was unloaded by crew who delivered it to our cabin. For the return it was the same procedure as above. Cases out the night before and collected at the airport on landing.
  3. More problems this morning🙄 Had booked assistance to take us to the terminal, but they didn't come. Reception chased them up, they denied any request despite hotel having received a conformation email. Eventually got to the terminal to assistance desk, they couldn't process the request until we had checked luggage in and had boarding passes. At check in desk there was a query regarding OH walking stick, although I had filled in the appropriate paperwork required by P&O! Am now sitting in departure lounge waiting to go to the gate. I will finally relax when I'm in the air. Will give you a full report when I get back.
  4. Morning all, -2 here, with a feel of -7. Up early for breakfast before heading over to the airport building to check in. I haven't got WiFi on board so will only be able to catch up with you if I pick it up while ashore. Have a good and stay safe and warm. Pam
  5. That sounds good. It has just taken me 7 hours to travel fron home to Bristol!
  6. We have finally arrived at Bristol Airport after a long journey. It has only taken us 7 hours! The snow that caused railway points to freeze at St Erth was only very localised, and was clear a few miles up the road, but snowy again around Truro. It seemed all the trains were running late too. Hope you've all had a better day than mine has been.
  7. Well, I've left home but have only got as far as the station and all trains are cancelled as the points have frozen! So an now sitting in the drafty waiting room.
  8. Thank you for the information as we are due to call at Funchal on Monday and again the following week on Azura.
  9. My son has just called in on his way to work and annouced it's snowing. Just hope it doesn't affect the trains.
  10. Good morning, Coldest day on record here, according to my phone's app, at -2c. We went out for a meal last night to save cooking and OH car was saying it was 21c😕I think not!! I'm all packed and ready to head of to Bristol to join Azura tomorrow. I am looking forward to some warmer weather. Hope everyone has a good day, stay safe and warm. Pam
  11. We were on Brtiannia in September and it was one MDR, The Oriental, with fixed dining at 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm with a 15 minute window for late arrivals before doors closed. Freedom dining was in the Peninsula and Meridian MDRs.
  12. Avril, Glad to hear that Frank is improving and hope your colds get better soon. It's -1c down here this morning, but clear blue sky and sun. I received a phone call yesterday with my MRI results, so at least I didn't have to go round the houses again. Ithen spent a lot of time trying to sort out travel insurance. According to the oncology nurse who rang my scan shows treatment reaction, so not all good news, but not bad either, and will have another scan in six months. Now that is sorted I will get on with my packing, time is ticking by. Take care and stay warm.
  13. Good Morning, Had rain when I got up this morning and it's a cold 4c although feels more like -2c. Dry now and clouds are beginning to break up so we might get to see the sun. Meeting a friend for coffee this morning and then need to start packing. Hope everyone has a good day and take care.
  14. What a lovely surprise - free drinks on P&O! Enjoy. Hope you have a great cruise. I liked Iona when we were on her two years ago. Where has that time gone?
  15. Sorry to hear about your Mum. Hope she doesn't have to wait long for her MRI results so then can get things sorted. As others have said ramble away. It helps!
  16. A dull, grey day here at 4c but feels a lot colder. At least it's dry and not windy. Taking a trip up to Truro this morning, and it will be the scenic route as the A30 is closed all weekend. Hopefully I can then get on and finish the dress I'm making and I intend to make a start on the packing for next week. Wish me luck! Have a good weekend everyone, whatever you have planned.
  17. Thank you. Have arranged to meet a friend for coffee Monday morning, who I haven't seen for a while, so will get phone calls diverted to my moblie.
  18. Things haven't gone to plan this week. I ordered some zips which have arrived but the colours aren't suitable, so was going to take a trip up to Truro to get the ones I need, but had problems with the car. Plus I been battling with the hospital to get my MRI results. I have spent a good portion of today trying to find get answers and am not much further forward. Rang several times this morning and left a message, got a phone call from the doctor, who can't answer my questions regarding my travel insurance, but he did inform me that they would be looking at my scan on Monday and said he would ring me on Monday,🤞 if not for me to ring on Tuesday. We leave home to travel up the the airport on Thursday to join Azura on Friday. Things are not going well!
  19. Have a lovely time and I'm sure you will enjoy being in the Caribean.
  20. So glad to read that Frank is home again and the only medication needed is an iron tablet. Wishing you both well and take care. Pam
  21. Very true. My mother used to have a mobile phone, but as she rarely used it, it got cancelled. She now does not have a mobile phone as she can't get a signal where she lives, nor can we when we visit!
  22. We had the ability to book The Retreat beforehand , about 14 days prior to our cruise on Britannia and it is also available to book now on our upcoming cruise on Azura. The price listed is for the 14 days, no pricing for day passes.
  23. That's really good to hear as we join Azura in 9 days. Hope the weather stays the same as I am looking forward to some warm weather.
  24. Thank you for taking the time to update us. Hopefully he will be home again soon. I know how hard it can be putting on a strong front for everyone else, when it is the last thing you are feeling. Everyone here is wishing Frank a speedy recovery and is also concerned about you too. Take care of yourself, sending you both my best wishes and some virtual hugs🤗
