  1. I have always had no problem taking taking enough clothes for my holiday, with one case each and often bring back clothes that I haven't worn. The nearest I get to the launderette when onboard, is walking past the door🤣
  2. The say is always rains in Bergen, but we have always had good weather when we have docked there.
  3. We were on Iona in January last year and Cadiz was the only day of the of the fortnight we had rain. It also happened to my birthday too!😒
  4. Well, the weather forecast is wrong, again🙄 We've just had a couple of very heavy, torrential in fact, showers, and now it's brilliantly sunny. I was going to walk to meet my friend for coffee this morning, but I've changed my mind, I'll take my car.
  5. All sorted, booked a slot for the 23rd December and whilst on the site booked one for the 28th too. Just need to tweek them nearer the dates!
  6. Morning all, Having a quick look at the weather forecast it looks as though we aren't going to get any rain, but we will see! I'm up early. I didn't sleep well, so got up to book my Christmas delivery slot. When the queue opened I was informed the wait time was 41 minutes, but it dropped to 20 minutes almost straight away. Meeting friends for coffee this morning. It's been a while since wer had a catch up due to illnesses. Right off, to see where I am in the queue! Hope you all have a good day.
  7. My son's girlfriend is vegetarian and family in Sicily bought meat free arancini for her, which contained ham!
  8. Our weather seems to be stuck in a rut, as it has been the same for the last few days, sunny in the morning and rain later. Our neighbours, the other side of the lane had a large firework display which we watched, sat in the comfort of our house.
  9. Although we travel from a different direction, if we travel up to Southampton, especially by train, we always travel up the day before. The only time I travelled on National Express it took me four hours just to get to Plymouth, whereas the train takes less than two to get there, and that's on a slow train!
  10. Our weather is the same as the last couple of days - mild (12c), windy and sunny with torrential showers. Guy Fawkes night tonight, so I hope everyone stays safe and any animals aren't too frightened!
  11. Morning everyone, I got my weekends mixed up yesterday. I was thinking that Rememberance Sunday was this weekend, but it's next weekend!🙄 My daughter's birthday so we're all going out for a carvery meal this afternoon to celebrate. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.
  12. I have a revolut card and have transfered sterling to Euros and Norwegian Krone. I have used the card to pay for items and when in Italy used an ATM to withdraw Euros. I also transfered my unused Norwegian Krone straight to Euros without having to transfer it back to Sterling first. If you have multiple currencies on the card, just make sure that it set to the currency you want to use. I did forget to do this and had the card declined as there wasn't sufficent money in the other currency!
  13. Thank you, for your posts. We are in the Canary Islands on Azura in January so am finding it interesting to read about your visits to the various islands. We tried the Silk and Spice wine when on Azura last May and can say we also enjoyed it. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  14. Bright sunny, mild (12c) but still windy down here with a yellow weather warning for rain later. Got a Tesco delivery for this evening. It was originally booked for tomorrow morning but as the end of our road will be closed for a Rememberance Sunday Service I changed it. Other than that I've nothing planned for today. Hope you all have a good weekend.
  15. Oh no, what unfortunate timing (although something like that is never good) as if you haven't got enough on your plate already! I hope he isn't in too much pain and it heals well. Wishing you well and take care. Pam
  16. Still windy here, but we have got some sunshine interspirsed with the odd torrential shower. The wind is making it feel chilly though.
  17. Morning everyone, My daughter woke about 3 this morning and said it was all calm. I was woken at about 4 with the wind battering my bedroom windows and it's still seems as strong. There are reports of lots of trees down round about too. Sorry to hear about your niece @Josy1953 Stay safe everyone.
  18. It's pretty wet and windy out down here. I have just read tha Spirit of Adventure is sheltering in Falmouth.
  19. It's sounding very wild out! The rain is battering the windows and the wind's strengthening, just glad we're not out in it. There are no trains running this week or next, due to engineering works, so there's replacement buses running. My son and daughter just managed to catch the last bus home from Truro as all the others have been cancelled due to the weather, with none likely to be running tomorrow either until about mid-day. So it looks like neither of them will be in work tomorrow. Stay safe and keep warm everyone.
  20. Morning everyone, hope you are all well. Windy but dry here at present. Need to take a trip over to Asda, but other than that I'm not venturing out. Plan on having a baking and jam making day, as have lots of apples and raspberries to use. Stay safe.
  21. Don't normally get trick or treaters here, although since last year we have had a family with children move in next door but one. I have got some sweets in, just in case, but the lights are turned off so it looks as though nobody's home!
  22. I feel your pain. In May I went into Penzance ticket office to buy tickets to Southampton for the 13th May just after the dates for the strikes had been announced (for the 12th and 13th) and asked if GWR would be affected by the strikes and was told "No you will be fine to travel." I ended up paying my daughter for petrol and a hotel as she drove us up, as we couldn't get up any other way.
  23. Hope the seas calm down for you and your wife feels better too.
