If you cruise late August, that's still during summer vacation, there will be lots of families on that cruise.

We were on 2014 Christmas cruise and we could get cappuccino and espresso in MDR.

We just came back from AOS on a Christmas cruise. We stay in San Juan before and after the cruise. If your ship docks in Old San Juan, then try to visit Casa Bacardi and take one of their extended tours; check out their reviews on Yelp. Otherwise, you can take a short walk through Old San Juan and visit Fort El Morro for only $5/person. There's really no need to book excursions through the ship, these are really good self guided tours.

You have to be off the ship by last call. I think around 10:30?

Check out Sixt car rental, they might have a pickup at POM.

They provide the rock climbing shoes, but you still need to have socks.

We were on the Allure this past July. On the day of disembarkation, we toured the PS because we are booked for next July. The two master bedrooms each have 2 twin beds which can be pushed together to make a queen. The other two bedrooms each have 2 twin beds and 2 twin pull downs. The living room sofa can be converted to a queen bed. So sleeping 14 should not be a problem. During the day, there's plenty of room inside and outside. Unless all 14 are adults, there's plenty of room in the PS.

Yes, they have a scale there to weigh you! I was on Allure this past July and while I was in line for the zip line, a fellow passenger was rejected for being overweight and I saw them weigh him.

There is a Specialty Dining table on the Promenade during embarkation, and there will be some dining staff floating around outside Windjammer. Some of the Specialty restaurants won't be open till later.

Sorry to inform, but the water taxi stop at Pier 66 is undergoing renovations and is closed. You will have to walk across the bridge to the Hilton.

You must be doing the European cruise on the Allure. We're on the July 21 sailing. Most of the suites were sold out early because this is the first time the Allure will be in Europe. Keep checking close to final payment time or immediately after.

The Royal Family Suite is a lot less than the Royal Loft Suite. But the RLS is much nicer with a much larger balcony.

Yea, I heard some kids running around while we were there for Chef's Table.

We just came back on the Allure in July. One of our specialty dinner was at 8:30 (we're from west coast) and the restaurant was full and humming.
Wait till you board and there will be specialty dinning staff on the Promenade to help you and offer 20/30/40% off the cover charge for multiple specialty restaurant reservations.

We just cruised on the Allure in July. We enjoyed Chef's Table much more than 150 Central Park. I felt that the 150 Central Park cover charge, dinner charge (yes, the cover charge does not include dinner) and wine pairing charger made the meal overpriced. The Chef Table cover included everything and the atmosphere was much better. 150 Central Park had better wine, but the food at Chef's Table was comparable and Chef's Table presentation was better.

If your daughter gives her Sea Pass card to the photographer, then those pictures will be included in your package.
-
If you purchase a photo package at the beginning of the cruise you get $75 off. We'll be cruising with 8 next year in a PS, so, we will be buying the package (per suite) and taking as many pictures as possible!

I was on Allure in July. They still had the shampoo dispenser and bath soap.

Check with your car rental company to see if they have a shuttle drop off at the cruise terminal. Otherwise, it's a short cab ride from airport.
I usually arrive at the port around 11AM. There's no line and the embarkation is quite straight forward not like the airport at all. You will have to have your hand carry scanned, but you don't have to take out your liquids, nor take off your shoes.
Enjoy the Allure, there's so much to do.

Great review. I was on the Allure earlier on in July. I enjoyed the Chef's Table experience much more than 150 Central Park. I thought the service was better, the food just as tasty and the interaction between the Chef and fellow passengers really made it a night to remember. I will be on the Allure again in 2015 and I will book the Chef's Table again; this time for our family of 8!

RCL is just concerned with people sneaking liquor onboard in water/soda bottles. If your case of water/soda is unopened, then you should have no problems.
