  1. We just came back from AOS on a Christmas cruise. We stay in San Juan before and after the cruise. If your ship docks in Old San Juan, then try to visit Casa Bacardi and take one of their extended tours; check out their reviews on Yelp. Otherwise, you can take a short walk through Old San Juan and visit Fort El Morro for only $5/person. There's really no need to book excursions through the ship, these are really good self guided tours.

  2. We were on the Allure this past July. On the day of disembarkation, we toured the PS because we are booked for next July. The two master bedrooms each have 2 twin beds which can be pushed together to make a queen. The other two bedrooms each have 2 twin beds and 2 twin pull downs. The living room sofa can be converted to a queen bed. So sleeping 14 should not be a problem. During the day, there's plenty of room inside and outside. Unless all 14 are adults, there's plenty of room in the PS.

  3. We just cruised on the Allure in July. We enjoyed Chef's Table much more than 150 Central Park. I felt that the 150 Central Park cover charge, dinner charge (yes, the cover charge does not include dinner) and wine pairing charger made the meal overpriced. The Chef Table cover included everything and the atmosphere was much better. 150 Central Park had better wine, but the food at Chef's Table was comparable and Chef's Table presentation was better.

  4. Check with your car rental company to see if they have a shuttle drop off at the cruise terminal. Otherwise, it's a short cab ride from airport.

I usually arrive at the port around 11AM. There's no line and the embarkation is quite straight forward not like the airport at all. You will have to have your hand carry scanned, but you don't have to take out your liquids, nor take off your shoes.

Enjoy the Allure, there's so much to do.

  5. Great review. I was on the Allure earlier on in July. I enjoyed the Chef's Table experience much more than 150 Central Park. I thought the service was better, the food just as tasty and the interaction between the Chef and fellow passengers really made it a night to remember. I will be on the Allure again in 2015 and I will book the Chef's Table again; this time for our family of 8!
