You do know that if people in the WJ did not waste huge amounts of food, the ship would not have to budget for as much instead of blindly charging us all for it.
They "make our lives easier" because they get paid to do it.

You must really believe these people can't manage their own lives without making it as simple as possible. I believe they are capable adults.
Many crew workers successfully support households thousands of miles away, The "hardship" of $2 bills isn't a major hurdle. Give the crew members some credit, they aren't helpless waifs.
As someone who has never ordered multiple entrees, nevermind 6-10 lobster tails, I am pleased that I won't continue to subsidize those who do as much as before. That doesn't mean I blindly defend anything.
