  1. My math and vision are fine. It wasn't anywhere near 90% before COVID either. Hyperbole isn't effective.
  2. I was on three Royal cruises in 2022. No one had any where near half of the people dressing up on "formal" nights. Your claim of 90% suggests poor vision or math skills.
  3. On Harmony in October it was much fewer than half who dressed up. Probably less than 25%.
  4. I was upgraded from a GTY inside to a balcony using Royal Up in September, bid $5 over the minimum. Someone cancelled, we kept getting their notices.
  5. I did the opposite... instead of feeling that I had to "get my money's worth" out of the soda package, I brought the 12 pack on board. I drank a lot more free water (especially at meals) and didn't even finish the 12. The packages change your behavior.
  6. The only thing I will do at Coco Cay is go to a free beach area with at least one beer and go into the ocean up to about my shoulders and bob up and down while I drink. The rest is so grossly overpriced it's ridiculous.
  7. The Bahamas VAT is 10%, used to be 12%, so yes, it could have been a dollar difference.
  8. I see this and read the "incident report"... so what? Some kids did something you didn't approve of for 10 minutes out of an entire week. "I’m sure it’s on RC surveillance for the ship." LOL
  9. "I read a headline but not the article."
  10. We did the car rental from Avis a few weeks ago. It's not cheaper than getting an Uber ride, but you do have the car to go out with. Going back to MCO, the wait was going to be 45 minutes for the Avis shuttle (it filled up frequently with parties of multiple people) so we paid an Uber about $20 for the 5 minute ride and also didn't get caught in a line of people picking up cars.
  11. Pre-cruise testing reduces the number of infected passengers boarding - some people will test positive - while many will be infected yet test negative and be allowed on board. Testing helps, but not 100%. It would potentially reduce the number of people getting exposed while on the ship.
  12. And techically you didn't need to make that so informative post.
  13. I am a coke drinker who had been buying the soda package... and hauling the cup around all day. Last two cruises I just brought a 12 pack of cans on board. And had some left over. Amazing how the package can induce you to drink a lot more than you actually "need".
  14. Try google's flight search site. And be flexible, it might be a lot cheaper to fly into a major international airport (like JFK or Miami) and ad a second leg than to try to book all the way through. Look out for the "basic economy" type fares, they can be killers by the time you get done.
  15. I have seen plenty of women who "I thought" were wearing outfits not flattering... but the heck with me, if these ladies want to go on a cruise vacation, more power to them. Same with the old dudes in the speedo poolside.
  16. Could have been more to the point by just saying "I want I want I want".
  17. As others have said, you do you, we'll do us.
  18. Thanks. I've never gone to fort hamilton, looking it up on a map it looks like what's beyond where the streets end when I'm wandering past the car dealer. Looks interesting. And free!
  19. I am considering taking the Dec 13 NCL 5 day cruise from NYC to Bermuda. Would be in Bermuda from 9am Thursday until 3:30 pm Friday. I have never been there so late in the year, and Horseshoe and Tobacco Bays, my favorite beaches, probably aren't a great idea. I have seen on other threads people planning to go the the caves by ferry/bus which sounds doable, is the lighthouse also along that route? Any other suggestions besides walking around Hamilton or the Dockyard? Thanks
  20. LOL Churches emptied in the 1970s due to harassment of teens who weren't dressed to others' preferences. They never came back. I look good in shorts, suits, whatever. My wife looks good without make up.
  21. I was in Orlando two weeks ago, asked an Uber driver typical fare to the port, he said about $130, so depends on the number of passengers whether it's for you or not.
  22. From our trip back in March (things are probably more open now): Two70 is underutilized. Most of what we saw of it was demonstrating the technology, moving tv screens, music etc. They did not have nightly shows. Pre-Covid, they ran a really "eclectic" show, not last time. Short trips on North Star were free on port days but all require reservations. The paying trips are longer and go out over the side of the ship as well as up and down. We did it in port at Canaveral. You go up high. That's about it. iFly is available - you pay for it, reservations required. If you're curious to try it, it's much shorter than what you would get on a visit to one of their land locations, but it's also a lot cheaper. I think your time in the tube is a minute of less (which is enough for just the experience of it). Bumper cars - also reservations required. You can get in line in case they have no-shows. Limited hours.
