  1. Are you talking about the March 30th Veendam repositioning cruise? 15 days from Ft Lauderdale to San Diego?

If so -- you won't find many children on that cruise.

Up north here many of our schools do not get a spring break. They do get 3 days at Easter. But this year many schools will be in session then as we have had so many snow storms and schools closed. One district is going to have to go to school on a few Saturdays because now only were they closed for snow but at the beginning of the year they had a teacher's strike that lasted 10 days.

We are on the Veendam March 30th, 15days, but we are departing from San Diego to Ft.Lauderdale. Thank you for the info!

  2. Just curious, as we do not have any children, when March Break is? I do believe it is somewhat different everywhere but we are wondering if it will be done by the time we go on our Panama Cruise March 30th. Just asking...

  3. Jacqui, as we all know food is very subjective. I enjoyed them. Are they worth the extra charge...I have to agree with solocanadian. Are they better than the one in the MDR? I'd have to say the same. They were all plunked on a plate also with the butter a piece of parsley and a quarter lemon. It still took some work to get all the meat out of their halved shells. To be fair I don't know what I was expecting....Would I order them again, probably not. Than again I was not impressed with the PG. We both much preferred the older menu. We will give this menu another try on our upcoming Panama Cruise and hope that it will change our minds..Everyone in life has to allow for a one off.JMO

  4. Well, I must say I am a little embarrassed here. Much as I love the recognition, for which I thank you all greatly, I am not used to having the spotlight shown on me so brightly.

I love participating here because I enjoy the camaraderie, enjoy talking about cruising, and like sharing what I know. Helping is not about recognition, though, so I would prefer that we all turn off that spotlight now, and focus on the other threads.

    Thanks.

Just one little more "thanks" from me RuthC as well. I hope to have the pleasure one of sailing with you and meeting you face to face. I always carry chocolate with me;)

  5. I like your approach but then you have radicals such as CruiseWhere who want a cruise in Paradise (LOL). I don`t know what room he is referring to where wine drinkers have to pay...

My dear Quebecois friend, if you have been paying attention to the new rules regarding the wine policy you would have than read that you now can bring on unlimited bottles but with a fee for each bottle....put that in your pipe and smoke it...charge smokers as well!! DUHHH...

  6. We just did the 18 day Hawaiian Cruise on the Veendam in Dec 2013 and there was not a complaint to be had! As a matter of fact we will be back on her in March for a 15 day Panama Canal Cruise.

The staff was phenomenal. Food was great. If I have one issue it would only be the aft "Seaview" deck where there are only little shallow hot tubs. IMO it's a waste of space and ruins the view that might be had there.
