  1. I am so sorry you are going through this nightmare. I too, fear that other passengers will decline to report covid if they contact it onboard. Especially after reading about it here.
  2. I still can't figure out what is so bad about the PG. Do you eat better at home? Heck, I'm glad it isn't the Golden Corral or something like that. People always find something to complain about. I avoid them like the plague.
  3. Of course. I saw a woman bring no less than 7 suitcases on a 2 week caribbean cruise. I'm a carry on gal myself. But, back to the riveting topic at hand.
  4. Well, if you get aggravated, then don't talk about your casino cruise deals. Nice of you to offer your wife's cabin offer....but you can't private message members here. If you are serious, that is.
  5. I thought it was discontinued years ago. Haven't received one in a long time. One more perk missing that I didn't even know was a perk.
  6. My point was that not everyone can afford to do what you do. I'd be in gambler's rehab if that were the case in my life. Way over my head. But, have fun if that's fun for you.
  7. Easy to say when you are on a free cruise and all you have to worry about is an upgrade to a Neptune or whatever. The cost of the cruise for many of us is important. I don't go to expensive restaurants on land and I won't on a ship either. Maybe I've been too busy paying for college for my kids, no free loans there, and have to be sensible. No whining here, just reality. Seriously, if that's important to you, have at it, but it's just not reality for alot of people.
  8. This is a ridiculous menu. The way things are going, I suppose some people think this is normal. With inflation upon us, many are choosing to forgo these expensive restaurants. If you are on a free cruise, you wouldn't mind paying $79 or $99 pp for an upscale experience? I'd rather give the money to charity than blow it on nonsense.
  9. I am one who is so opposed to upcharges on a cruise ship. It's against my moral compass.
  10. I have to admit that I laugh when I walk by a stateroom door with "Cruise Critic" magnets like anyone cares. Oh, I expect they think they will be treated better or something like that. Haha!
  11. We usually just grab a cab and go to the beach, unless you are at Half Moon and Grand Turk. The beaches are right there. I've always felt those ports are pretty safe. However, if you get a chance for a catamaran sail and snorkle, do it; it's fun.
  12. Agree with you, completely. But, I remain confused. The fact that masks are "clearly being required indoors" makes me wonder why the unvaccinated will soon be cruising with HAL. It just doesn't make sense.
  13. I prefer to trust people. I get the point you are making, but when I'm on a cruise, I don't want to get bogged down with trust issues. You could drive yourself crazy otherwise.
  14. I've never had it. I'd be happy with sardines on saltines anytime anywhere. They don't do that on the ships....too bad.
  15. Haha, and then you can grab a beer and go to your lifeboat demo! Fun times!
  16. Laundry bag left on the bed and magic! It comes back soon shiny and clean as a new penny.
  17. I'm lucky to have a good one right now. She's great. I've not had that experience with all....I've been assigned a number of different ones over the past few years. They quit or get laid off and here we go again. I really hope this one lasts. I like the convenience of getting through to someone helpful. I've no patience going through the main lines and long waits on hold. Such a drag, wasting my life.
  18. Music is our thing and the Pinnacle class ships have more to offer in the way of night time entertainment. After being at the beach all day (exhausting), or laying around on lounge chairs on the ship (tiring), I'm usually ready for bed early. HAL has had that reputation forever, for the old and early bird gang, but that's why I love it.
  19. One thing I miss is the cooking demos in the culinary art center. I was an avid follower and attended every day, especially on transatlantics. They gave out samples, too, which were great. On those long cruises, there were plenty of activities for everyone, including in-depth lectures. The Caribbean cruises, by contrast, don't really have as much to do. Bingo just isn't my thing.
  20. Eat, drink, read, and nap. All good. Oh, forgot about that walk on the Promenade.
  21. 21+ member. Well, that didn't take long, lol.
  22. Florida shrimp is so much better than the shrimp served on board. The shrimp cocktail is nothing to write home about. Certainly not worth the upsell.
  23. And it's horrible. It's painfully jarring.
