  1. Update!

    I won my bid!

I was checking my credit card authorizations all day, and at 4:55PM I saw a charge from Celebrity so I knew I had won the upgrade 😀  The app shows my new cabin number, and of course I received the email confirmation as well.

My original cabin was a single infinite verandah cabin, and my new cabin is a Prime Concierge Class Cabin on deck 12.

I followed others advice on here and called Celebrity right away to move cabins within the category (they had me in a forward connecting), now I am in a mid-ship non-connecting cabin!

    I'm super excited for Monday!

  2. First time on Celebrity in November - very excited! Sailing on Beyond after over 50 cruises with Royal. I am Diamond Plus on Royal, so Elite on Celebrity.

I am sailing in an Edge Single Stateroom with infinite Verandah.  I got the Move Up offer and was able to bid on just about every category, including The Retreat suites.  I bid on Concierge Class and Aqua Class cabins.

Has anyone that was booked in a single stateroom ever been upgraded?  I know I am paying double, but just curious.

    Thanks 🙂

And with that the 4 of us were ready to leave the arena.

The thousands that had been out front had long left and there were just the stragglers leaving the arena. Robyn walked back to our hotel and Lisa and I walked her to the tram that goes back and forth to the Bellagio where she was staying. She didn’t know it existed but said it worked great. The price is right too, it’s free.  She texted saying she made it back safe and sound. We grabbed some pizza, headed up to our room and finished packing.  Our alarm was set for 6:30 the next morning.

The trip was an experience of a lifetime.

I am reliving every minute! Thanks again for a once in a lifetime experience!

Robyn ,if you haven’t been on the edge class yet, you are in for a treat.   Our first cruise back from Covid 9/2021 was the edge and we were blown away with how beautiful the ship was.  Total passengers being 900 didn’t hurt either but fabulous cruise/ship. We bounce between celebrity and rccl now.

I’ve yet to sail Celebrity, and I can’t wait! I have a solo edge balcony cabin 😎

Originally a friend from home was supposed to meet us in Vegas Tuesday for the game, but unfortunately his plans fell apart that morning and he could not fly out early that morning to meet us.

That left us with 3 seats for four of us. That said a fellow member of CC was in Vegas which I follow on Instagram.  We have never met her in person but feel like we know her from her reviews. Some of you might know her from them as well.

@Ocean Boy you could probably guess as she lives close to us here in Canada.

The following is our messaging back and forth.  We all had a blast.

Andrew, I am still in shock that I was there! It was an unbelievable experience. It was so amazing to meet you, Lisa and Owen - a more warm and welcoming family would be hard to find!!  I am looking forward to taking you all to dinner next time you’re in the city… you promised!!!

    Robin,

More than likely they will just skip Coco Cay. As it stands currently, it looks like the storm will be at its worst Wednesday into the wee hours of Thursday.

Honestly, as much as I’d love a Perfect Day… I’d be happy to miss it to stay in calm seas. I’m on a b2b with the week of the 12th - heading to the ABC’s .

If you're from out of town and sailing in this area, you may want to search for WPLG Channel 10, which is the South Florida ABC affiliate with great weather coverage.  It seems like Tuesday to Thursday are NOT going to be great days for the intended itinerary for Independence, Liberty & Freedom, that stop at Coco Cay and/or Nassau.  (Oasis by the topic of this thread must also fall into this category.)

Watching this morning, it looks like the storm track will take the path right over Coco Cay and just north of Nassau.

I’ve been watching closely, arrived in Miami yesterday, boarding Explorer today. We are supposed to be at Coco Cay tomorrow…

  8. I am cruising in a Grand Suite on Explorer this Sunday, and staying pre-flight and pre-cruise at 2 different Marriott's.  I am interested to see if the switch to wall mounted bathroom products is a thing - sounds like it is.

Personally I don't care because I bring my own, but I agree that wall mounted anything just looks cheap.

No obvious COVID protocols anymore.  I've cruised multiple times since January, and the protocols have eased over that period of time.  I stick to my own protocol, and several of the people I cruise with do, too.

We don't get on crowded elevators, and if we are on and it gets crowded, we get off.

I wear a mask on elevators, the theater, and in the Windjammer except when I'm eating.  I also use my own and the ship's hand sanitizer frequently.  You're basically on your own for health protocols.  I'm on day 8 of a 9 night cruise, and I tested myself today.  Negative results, so no infection from airports, restaurants, hotel, shuttle, and ship.

Your protocols are exactly what I do too.  I will wear my mask in the same circumstances as you.

I cruise on Explorer November 6th for 14 nights (b2b).  I have just recovered from Covid - got it for the first time 2 weeks ago, and I don't want it again!

OK thanks.  I am still trying to figure out how this works. So you won a bid for $30 over the minimum for the GS.  What was the minimum bid for the GS if was not $2400/PP? And for solo too?

The minimum bid was $300.  I bid $330 - In Canadian dollars, so that would be roughly $235 USD. I paid double, so $670 CDN which would be about $480 USD.
