  1. Yes, I am sailing solo. My bid was x2, so I paid as if there were 2 in the cabin. What is so hard to believe here?
  2. I paid $900 cdn for a Superior Ocean View Balcony (and that is sailing SOLO!) The GS when I looked at what it costs to book outright was about $2400/PP. Yay me!
  3. Oh excellent - thanks for that. I will call.
  4. Notified today that my bid was accepted and I am 9 days out. Successfully bid on a Grand Suite (was in an OV balcony).
  5. I won my bid today, and I sail on November 6th, so exactly 9 days out. Everything on my reservation now reflects the Upgrade from balcony to Grand Suite, except my docs still show the old cabin, which means the luggage tags do too..... I will over-write the ones I have I suppose. I know......first world problems.
  6. Today I won my bid and went from an OV balcony to a Grand Suite. I got an email from RoyalUP at 2:23PM, and a new booking invoice from Royal at 2:24PM. I only checked my email at 4:40PM!!! Super excited! I won with $30 over the minimum bid!
  7. I’m sailing in 9 days. it’s a 6 night cruise 😊
  8. Low key freaking out! I sail in 9 days, on the Explorer. Just found out today I won my bid! my bid was $30 over the minimum. I was in an ocean view balcony and now I’m in a Grand Suite πŸŽ‰ I did not bid on a Junior Suite. Miracles DO happen!
  9. I just found out I won my RoyalUp bid! I sail in 9 days on the Explorer and I went from an Ocean View balcony to a Grand Suite for slightly above the minimum bid!!! SO excited!!!!
  10. I got my bivalent booster 3 weeks ago. That was my 2nd booster and my 4th shot. Last Saturday I tested positive for Covid, for the 1st time. I had a pretty bad head cold and felt awful for a few days, but am very thankful that overall I was ok. I believe that the vaccines are doing what they are designed to do, and that is keep people from a severe outcome. No regrets getting the bivalent, and now having just recovered from Covid, I am ready to go on my Explorer B2B coming up in 2 weeks!
  11. I am on a b2b on Explorer in 2 weeks (14 nights total). I have checked in for both legs and hope the process will be seamless.
  12. Uhm Yah. No. The pool it is for me when I am there in a few weeks. On the bright side, your weather looks divine. It is a balmy 10 degrees in Ontario today.....
  13. Looks like a fab day! How is the jellyfish situation? I heard the last few months have been really bad.
  14. Tomorrow is 30 days out for me - hoping luggage tags will be available to print! The OCD in me needs to put them in their nifty plastic holder/sleeves πŸ˜„
  15. I am that person. The person that rats out every single parent who tries to take their non-potty trained children anywhere near the main pools.
  16. My cruise is 32 days out. There is a JS Guarantee There are 8 Grand Suites available There are 7 Owners Suites available There is 1 Royal Suite available I have bids in for everything above except the JS (before it went guarantee, I could see there were 6 available all at the aft - not my fave on Voyager class) My bids are significantly above minimum but not considered strong. Checking my emails every day.....
  17. Sorry to hear about your fall on the Flowrider, but glad you are doing ok! I am honestly impressed when I see anyone on that thing! I usually head up there late in the afternoon to watch for a bit before heading back to the cabin. Looking forward to it in a few weeks when I board Explorer for my b2b πŸ™‚ Have a great day on Labadee! Can't wait to see your pictures.
  18. Looking forward to following along! Mariner is a great ship - I have sailed her a few times and really enjoyed each cruise. As for Voyager class - it is my 2nd favorite behind Freedom class. I may be in the minority, however I am not a fan of Oasis class and prefer the "smaller" ships (although not as small as Radiance which was my first cruise ever). Safe travels to Florida πŸ™‚
  19. When is your cruise, and when did you find out you won? Congrats and enjoy that balcony!!
  20. Oh wow - 7 weeks in advance of your cruise? I just found out that the RoyalUp program is handled by a 3rd party, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how upgrades are awarded. Curious, were you notified by email or you just saw a new cabin # on your reservation?
  21. I really need to check in here every day! There have been thousands of posts in between the last time I posted, and now! Hope everyone is doing well and had a good summer. I cheated on Royal in late June and sailed NCL for my first cruise back since Covid started....It was incredible to be back on a ship, but I missed Royal a lot.....so.....I am headed on a B2B on Explorer out of Miami, leaving on November 6th πŸ˜€ Really looking forward to 14 nights onboard. For the first time, I placed bids on higher cabin categories (I am sailing solo so I really need the extra space of a GS lol) I am currently in a balcony (unfortunately not the same one, but a few cabins apart) for both weeks. Wondering if anyone on here has ever won their bid? I am absolutely fine in my balcony, but the waiting game gives me something to do for the next 40 sleeps before I board! Thinking of doing a LIVE report....you know, for old times sake, and also because I need the navigational expertise of @oceanboy to ensure I know where I am at all times πŸ˜‚
