As noted, no hairdryers in the cabin, but you can ask your cabin steward for one, and they'll bring one to the cabin for you to use, while aboard. Be advised, that the dryers supplied have an off/on switch that must be held down, and it's kind of a PIA, I suggest bringing along a strong rubber band, or something similar to help hold the switch. Other than that, they work fine.

I too, go through that every cruise. In fact, I used to repair some of the computers aboard Carnival ships, while they were in port, and I ALWAYS told them that the thing might go down again, and I should probably stay aboard,,,,just in case. Well, it NEVER worked, but I gave it my best shot.

I too, think you'll have a FANTASTIC time aboard "Paradise". Yes, she is a smaller, older ship, but that doesn't take away from her many positive things, and the fact that she is smaller, means fewer people, less lines, and less walking. You and yours are in for a great cruise.

THANKS for posting, what I consider a very fair, and honest summary of your "Magic" cruise. I agree with about 90% of your comments, and will be sailing "Magic" again in November.

As noted above, there is only one outlet in the cabin, and there is also one outlet in the bathroom. Be advised, however, that the outlet in the bathroom turns OFF when the lights are turned off. ;)
I use my Carnival Card to pay for everything cruise related, and a few other things (gasoline etc.) and the points rack up fairly quickly. It's a good deal IF,,,,you pay it off faithfully each and every month. The interest rate on unpaid balance is HORRIBLE! :(

Actually, there are quite a few unique benefits, but to me, the best one is the "Diamond Get Together" with the Captain, and the senior officers. Lots of fun, and great snacks, and free drinks.
Congrats on your reaching the "Diamond" level, and I hope to see you on board one of these days.

I sail the "Magic" on November 11th, and look forward to Dr. "E". Never had the honor, and can't wait to meet him.

This was posted by John Heald. Guess they no longer want anyoneto e-mail the maitre'd? Sorry 'bout that.
My thanks to Marlene for the opportunity for me to kindly remind all of you please, please do not e mail the maître d for dinner or table reservations.
I know a few will try and help but they really should not have the pressure of getting dozens and dozens of e mails each week. And most of our Maitre Ds may not reply and that is not as Marlene suggests “ not good customer service” but simply the fact that they do not have time and most importantly neither are they required to do so by Carnival management.
And while I greatly respect experienced cruise like Mr or Mrs “ Skyway” I would ask that nobody e mails the maître d and if you need a special request for dining that you ask me and I will certainly do all I can
PLEASE COULD SOMEONE POST MY RESPONSE ON WHEREVER THIS IS POSTED ON CRUISE CRITIC.

Nope, I don't think there is a bar in the Fascination Serenity area, but they usually have folks walking through the area selling, and serving drinks.

YES! New Years Eve was one of the most fun I've ever had aboard ship, followed closely by "Halloween". Fantastic time aboard, and I'd highly recommend sailing then.

The playlist production shows have gotten much better than they were when they started out. We saw some great shows in early 2017 on the Breeze and the Freedom. It was sad that they were so poorly attended because the performers really gave their all.
They were probably "poorly attended" because many of us have seen so many "Playlist" shows, and found them to be far less than good. "Divas" was one of the worst excuses for a show that I've ever seen. LOL Anyway, I'll attend the shows on my next cruise in hopes that it's improved. Thanks for the "heads up" that it may be.

The rep you talked to is "full of Poo-Poo". Of course you can contact the Maitre'd, as you know from past cruises, but unfortunately, there really isn't any way to know for sure that he/she received your message. They simply don't have time to answer each, and every e-mail they receive.
I too, greatly prefer fixed seating, and have my little "requests" that has been honored each, and every Carnival cruise. I think you're doing exactly the right thing to get your Moms problem taken care of, so don't worry about it. When you board the ship, you'll find that the Maitre'd will be available on embarkation day, usually from 1 P.M. or so for questions, and inquiries, so head over to see him/her at that time to make sure that everything is O.K., and if not, it can be taken care of at that time.
Have a GREAT cruise.

I've got a bunch of 'em, but I'm a singer, and have done well over 50 Carnival cruises. The great majority of them were presented for participation in the "Legends Show" or the Passengers Talent Show. GREAT fun indeed.

As noted, you'll see just about everything the first night, because a lot of folks haven't even received their luggage yet. (Especially if they opted for early seating.) Bottom line, don't stress too much the first evening. Just enjoy being aboard the ship, and getting ready for a FUN cruise.

I thought it was Sale & Sign card ???????????? NO?????????
No,,,,I'm looking at an old one, and it says "Sail & Sign" Card. Anyway, it's would only be a "Sale & Sign" card, when you want to buy something in one of the shops, and then that would make it a "SALE", when you used the card to pay.

The closest decent one that I've found is the Hampton Inn & Suites,,, 1301 East 7th Avenue,,, Tampa, Fl. 33605 813-247-6700. I haven't checked this hotel out for a while, but in the past it's always been O.K. (You can see the ship from the hotel. Just 1/4 mile or so from the dock.)

My recent renewal was FAST as well. Right at two weeks. Seems as though they're "on the ball" these days.

The lovely, and talented Mrs. Jones and I sail SOLO about 90% of the time, due to our "small business", and scheduling conflicts, but it all works out EXCELLENT! I suggest booking either early, or late seating for dinner, as they usually seat the SOLO cruisers together at a BIG table, and that makes for some excellent conversation, and lots of new friends. As noted, you can do what you want, when you want, without having to satisfy someone else, who might not like what you want to do. For instance, I LOVE the big shows, and the musical entertainment, but the lovely, and talented Mrs. Jones prefers to go to the casino. NOT my cup of tea. Whatever you do, go aboard with a positive attitude, and you'll enjoy a GREAT cruise, and new friends.
I can't really recommend any particular ship, as I've enjoyed them all. Perhaps "Dream", as I've had a great time recently aboard that one.

I've been told to wait until no more than 90 days before the cruise, but like most everything else, I've seen the OBC posted in exception to this rule. As noted, they want to be sure that you actually own the stock when you sail. In any case, it's a great benefit, IMO.

I too, am sailing "Magic" again in November. Sorry to hear about all the lines, but the explanation makes perfect sense. Regardless, I always find good food on my Fun Ship cruises.

As an entertainer, YES,,,,,but as a steward, or waiter,,,not a chance. (I used to maintain the hardware on the "on board SUN computers" many years ago, but that was done when the ships were in port,,,,not at sea.)

Sunshine or the Breeze what would you chose?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
BREEZE,,,,in a heartbeat! Not only do I personally, enjoy the BREEZE a bit more than Sunshine, but it's a day longer, and IMO well worth the extra $100.
