Anyone been on an Ultra cruise recently?  My last Ultra was August 2021.  Just wondering if the gifts have changed and if you can still opt for Fun Play instead of gift.  I will be on Mardi Gras April 2 and it's an Ultra. I am hoping it won't be as crowded as the last Premier and Special Premier I have been on.  It will probably be more crowded, now that they are filling the ships.

I don't know what an ultra cruise is but we were on the Mardi Gras Feb 26th and I assure you it was close to full with 5200+....they'll fill er up, plus I caught Covid by those non mask wearers 8-%+ despite having mine on - hackers, sneezes and coughers all over the place and in the elevator....

Just wanted to report that I have heard reports of 2 people testing positive for COVID this week who were on this cruise (since in my last report I said I hadn’t heard of any cases after the cruise). Both minor symptoms.

My hubby woke up this morning with muscle aches, fever and chills. Tested negative. He worked at our church a ton last week so may have caught something there. I am still feeling fine since my return (no symptoms of any sort).

I tested positive Sunday - would of tested Saturday but waited for the am.

    From the cruise.

  3. Going forward Carnival is going to pack them in to whomever they can sell a ticket to....by May there will be no vaccines!  Google that - Carnival considering dropping vaccins - just to jam in the kids off of school.

We think we'll stand on the sidelines for a bit to see how this all pans out.  after all, cruised Horizon July and Oct, Disney Fantasy Sept, and the Mardi Gras Feb 28th - that was too packed for us.

Screw all the carp - let's cruise this weekend!  Both of us negative - be at the port at check in time 10am!

If your sick stay home, if not, join the crowd!

I hope everyone is mostly respectful on board.

Well, in my opinion, the mask were off the majority and the ship jam packed.

Elevators packed with people not wearing mask.  Did not respect my privacy nor meet our expectation.  That was the protocol.  They make you wear them in the terminal and embarkation/debarkation a the ports and home.

The past cruise this year were at 60% tops on the Horizon July and Oct cruise and the Disney Fantasy had only 1000 on board in Sept.

We did our best wearing our, but when outdoors we took them off.

Carnival is now going to say mask are optional and considering non vaccinated cruise starting in May.  Why?  So, they can fill the ship with the kids out of school and make more money.  I say, take each step with caution.

Yes we own stock and want it to go up, but don't want to risk bankruptcy with another cruise shutdown.

Could not get the app to work once I got the 2 guest accepted - it said continue, but did not darken like you could click and go?????

    Any suggestions???

    Finally got it to work......

  6. Just curious as the current Mardi capacity and actual passengers count - Carnival works out everything to book the most and revenue in these items.

Although previously committed to the CDC which seems to have gone to the wasteside.

They work the numbers and bookings to make the most recently from the recent news we've read.

The reason I ask, we are on the ship next week, and we've sailed several times the past year with limited restricted bookings.  We will not cuisse a booking after March 1st 2022 until we have a better feeling, that's out option.

But what is the number onboard today???

    Thank you for your help!

  7. We are on the Mardi Gras for the 2/26 and look forward to the cruise regardless of the ports - we knew this going into the cruise.

Covid can change many things and none of this 100%.  Theya can all change up to the last minute.

Carnival had been accepting changes and flipping cruises for those families that chose to do so.

My suggestion is you call Carnival and rebook.

If you want to go to San Juan so bad, Southwest has cheap flights as others!

I simply provided a viable option for those who are technologically challenged. There seem to be many on CC asking for menus.

A viable issue Carnival needs to address.

Phone battery life is hurting many if us.  Can't keep them alive all day - duh!

Print any restaurant menus and fun times...along side our little towel animal!

Afterall, Carnival posted revenues are soaring!  Bought popcorn onc, and will not do it again, bland, no butter or salt available - sucked.  Take it up a notch if you want us to pay!  Not the fist cruise - was better in July.

That's all that is asked - simple, not anyone's personal way, but those that are paying customers and a way forward.

    .

  10. By the way, the popcorn was the worst ever on this cruise....no butter flavor nor salt - they should have given away - only bought it once.....so bad compared to the July trip - yeah right John Heald BS maybe we'll take it up a notch - such biullshit.

Carnival boost top revenues this month - just google it....

Maybe they are trying to do away with it......

  11. We were there every night and many early.....they did allow standing.....but they need to open the cairs around the piano.....plus put in the bar tools again and or add additional tables....this is too much talento waste...

Eden leaves after next week and good luck to him and getting home to family and friends, but you still have Jeffrey, Mignon, Heri, and hopefully another piano player....best cruise ever since 2013 on the Freedom (tied)....glad we booked the same trip after our July 24th sailing....

The entire shop and staff were the BEST!

Okay we had 3 cruises since July - looking for another but may have to wait for 2022 - ugh......

PS rough seas the last night after 1:30 am - the reason for being an hour late....

Just got off of the Mardi Gras. Not impressed. Do your room morning OR evening. Not much for them to do anymore. Well our next Carnival cruise will be our 50th. Once we reached the Priority boarding level we we so very happy. The other perks are nice but not as great as Priority Boarding. Well not this time. Only those that purchase a suite were considered priority. Look at your boarding pass. Do you see priority on it? I just went and took a look at the list. It still shows Priority boarding. Well the Mardi Gras boarding took 1-1/2 hours. Now lets cover the other perks. Want your free bottle of water. Go get it yourself at the bar. Want the ships pin and gift. Go get it yourself at Pixels. By the way. No ships name on the pin any longer. Want the nice strawberries or cookies delivered to your room. Call room service. So I guess you going to get the items yourself is saving them money? How? There was nothing telling us any of this. If we did not ask, we would never have known. Remember the get together party. Free flowing drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Now you receive one glass of wine. No other choice. Then they give you a $10.50 voucher for a drink. Now! they are saving money and demoting our status at the same time. If you are not going to give something additional, at least do not take things away. I do understand they took a hit. They are charging more for the cruise plus other things. Maybe the Priority Boarding will just be temporary. What can they possibly be saving there? If you purchase a suite and you get priority boarding why not us that deserve it. Guess loyalty has been tossed overboard.

Since Carnival started sailing again, this was well documented as to what the rules would be.

Diamond and Platinum were granted an addition 2 day advance to secure an early booing time to those that wanted to get on board quickly.

In addition, Carnival always loaded Wedding parties and suite first ever since I've know.

I've sailed 3 times since July and have no issue getting on straight away.

We are also in a Covid restricted era with Protocols; hence the way to gather your perks.

Unfortunately there were out of strawberries when we called for ours on day 7 of 8.  But we just pressed on an enjoyed a fantastic cruise on the Horizon.

When the nrom returns, if ever I'm sure things will change back to enjoying more service and gifts.

But if you need high treatment, pay the price and seek HAL or Disney.  You pay for what you get.

Look in the mirror and say to yourself, what's the solution, usually you have some humble pie.

Hats off to the best thing going for Carnival right now - The Horizon - ranked #1 amongst their fleet!

There is no doubt for us as we've been sailing since 1980.

  13. Okay

We book excursions with the ship or independent.
we sailed the horizon on July 24th and did the De Palm excursion.
We didn’t care the small amount of chairs.
MSI we book the 10/30 cruise and arrive in the am.
we used to take cans but with Covid need some help.
We always ge taken to the same ole beaches.

    we are there 9am-11pm.
mid there a place they can take us to with a pool / resort / beach without pre palm I g or what beach should we go to.
    thanks for your help.
