This image (if it links properly) is the (back page of the) one-sheet "FunTimes" John Heald posted on FB for the Mardi Gras yesterday, a sea day.  It shows most breakfast venues opening at 7am or 7:30am, Lido at 8am, sea day brunch in MDR at 8:30am.  Not sure if Lido opens earlier on a port day.

Excellent way to answer a question - with the facts.....print the funtimes again!

i have not been on any ship

I do not understand your comment as I was inferring that the new rule would mean NO kids which would be awkward for CCL.

That wouldn't be much different from what we saw on board.....less than 100 kids imo, probably closer to 50....12 and under.....

I'm on Horizon now. Bought the 24 hour internet so I probably won't be around for many follow up questions but i can confirm that while most are wearing their mask....it is no big deal if you are not.

There are signs in the elevators and entrances to most venues but it is self policed and no scary security posted up like I hear on vista.

The buffet is the strictest spot. They have staff (in lido uniforms not security) at the entrance presumably to ask you to wear a mask if you don't have one on.

I have seen them handing out masks to people leaving, but coming in everyone has always been masked up.

I do like I do at home, if people around me have them on I pull it up for their comfort level, if people around me don't or I'm not in a crowd it goes on my chin.

I'll be on next week as well and protocols could change at anytime if we have the health issues vista seems to be having but for now masking is about like chair hogging, it's up to you to obey the rules.

Just saw a video from the Horizon Piano Bar and only saw one set of guest in the room wearing mask....all others none....they have table chairs for two, so I fell that's safe and distanced, but going in and out, mine will be on....sailed her on July 24th and coming back Oct. 30th.......

wow that means a ship with no kids then.  hmmm not a good strategy.

See this whole issue over non 100% vaccinate cruising is because it is summer time and parents take their kids on vacations.  Many ships would be very empty if not for families.

    And the beat goes on...................

And what ship have you been on lately.....didn't see that many kids / families compared to the 3300 on the Horizon July 24th......couldn't see over 100 of non vax kids ages.....I had one parent said her kids were bored because they couldn't get off the ship in any port.....while she gambled in the Casino......go Fish.....

The card is just for show and to reassure guests.  It never was needed

It is also to track your consumption so Carnival can limit you to 15 drinks a day for those out of control......

  6. So who has cruised with this option.....I have ....I ordered when I sat down and tipped, they were back to me asking if I wanted another....on the 8 day trip I had 4 drinks o the casino.....so if you're going to drink or or are you going to gamble....what is your priority....it will be cheaper to buy your own IMO, but again, I could have played much longer and had a few more, but was more interested in other things too.....being smart....I saw people blow hundreds to thousand of dollars, not my interest, more of an R&R cruiser.....

What would be the recommended dish from the seafood shack? It still butters my biscuit that they took away the free fish and chips and other seafood options in order to do the seafood shack. Not counting it took over the tandoori. Grrrr.

I'm a shrimp fan no matter what.....wanted the wife to try the lobster roll, but just a lb of peel and eat as a snack...can do that all day long....lol.....couldn't keep her away from the lunch Italian place 3 times!!!

We really enjoyed the MDR - could not find fault with the food or staff.

Had a table for two - in and out as that's what we like.  Skipped desert to save the weight and calories and shows - off to our favorite places for the evening.....

Are you talking about a cruise since restart? If so I'm surprised you were able to watch CNN. Carnival went to full streaming TV service before the pandemic and severely limited the number of TV stations. The only news station was CBSN, no CNN, Fox, MSNBC, HNN, no other news service. The problem with CBSN is they only broadcast 15 minutes of news. Then it repeats the sane news stories over and over.

    It was CBSN I guess.....

Our family cruises often and on various lines......RCCL/Norwegian/Carnival. Recently returned from the Breeze and I wanted to comment on the lack of stations to watch in staterooms. In the past few years, I have become used to having ESPN International and usually 2 news channels. I enjoy watching sports and have watched NCAA tournament games, football, NBA, Ryder Cup and baseball playoffs in the past.
Unfortunately, on the Breeze we only had access to CBS News channel (I've heard of Fox News and MSNBC, but never CBS News Network). No ESPN. No Fox Sports. Nothing. The US Women's World Cup final was not shown anywhere on the ship. For some reason, Wimbledon matches on ESPN were shown in the casino, but not in staterooms. How can they have an ESPN feed to show in public places, but not in Staterooms?
The news channel issue was just as concerning....never heard of CBS cable news network. Why cant Carnival give us CNN or FOX or MSNBC?

My guess.....money. There obviously is a cost to providing those networks to staterooms and Carnival opts not to pay it.

I may upset some Carnival fans with this post and I would like to know if there is a history to which channels are offered or other explanations for the low number of channels. (but please don't say that a person should be on vacation and not want to watch news or sports)

I have to agree with you.....more options should be available with satellite service, but likely cost cutting measures......

The on demand worked fine for a movie, but we only had CNN.....I like the news and the wife used to catch CBSA once in awhile.......

as far as the room we only take an afternoon break and then to bed late......

The only option is to buy the top internet package and hope to stream stuff....but that's not a quarenette......

They had them on the past several ships we have cruised.  I saw someone at one of the comedy clubs with a plate of fries and that got me thinking it would make a good snack, so I got some too.

Yup, they have fries at te deli and had cookies too....got the fries once, but opted for cookies the next time - great BLT

    All items looked very good.

So in our humble opinion nothing beats sitting under the Caribbean sky with drink in hand enjoying a movie under the stars.  So I hear they are charging for popcorn now. Eh.... not ideal but oh well it is what it is.  With that being said it's pretty crappy popcorn but beats a blank lol. I read that it read $3. The servings in the past were pretty small, especially with  $3 price point? Any recent cruisers that can confirm the size? Price? Free refills? Thanks

Get over it - same size $3 bucks - no refills

We have a family reunion planned on Carnival Nov 4th to Mexico.

Our 2 grandchildren 9 & 11 are going and unvaccinated. My daughter, son in law and the 11 year old all had Covid last December, but the 9 year old never had symptoms and was not tested. (We assume he was asymptomatic, but still take precautions with him).

Everyone else is vaccinated except our grandchildren and another child in our group who is also too young to be vaccinated.

I agree with the new protocols to keep passengers safe. (Although I think $150 per person testing is over the top since they will be tested (along with everyone else 3 days prior to sailing).

To be honest...I wish we were not taking them, but this was already planned, booked and paid in full before the new restrictions (and before the recent rise in Covid cases)

They cannot go in port without a Carnival shore excursion and I'm not even sure that waterslides are open.

Does anyone know if the waterslides are open and if unvaccinated kids can use them?

Hoping the cases come back down soon...

Waterslides were open on the Horizon.....if you go to Aruba the De Palm Water Park is open and they had a buddle cruise there too.

Spot on!  .2-.3% testing positive.....really??  Who honestly expected anything near these %'s?  If the protocols work/continue to work, cruising seems to have been very successful thus far to me.

Just sailed late July on an 8 day cruise and prior to leaving heard of small groups of reported Covid....the cruise I was on, well just saw a post crusie note that 10 to 12 reported covid on VAX people.

I do not believe Carnival is Transparent with any covid reporting, only when they got caught on the Vista.  True they might not of been notified, but with all the testing, I'm sure they had some crew and others test positive.  Heck the ship has been CDC Ship Status Yellow ever since sailing!

Saying that would I crusie again, yes, but my wife and I stayed to ourselves avoid contact with groups.  We masked up when we felt it needed.  Also washed and cleaned hands.

It was despicable to see people use the bathroom and walk out uncleansed.

So, no matter what the crowd, you will have party animals that throw caution to the wind, those that are the middle of the road, and those that practice caution and Covid common sense.

Face it, this isn't going to go away soon.....use common sense, but again, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink!

Vaccinated passengers are also required to be tested as of 8/14

Not a problem at all for us....we'd do it in a heartbeat!  In fact we are trying to sail again in October.
