  1. Or how can I accomplish selecting a stateroom on an upper deck that has a stateroom above it....and a stateroom below it.....yet doesn't cost a fortune. An inner stateroom would be fine. Ocean view SEEMED to be limited to Deck 1. Any help finding a "quiet room" that is "affordable" would be most appreciated. Steve
  2. Stateroom 1090 seems to have the Atrium or the Pinnacle Grill above it. Agree? It's difficult to tell. I'm only concerned with having a quiet room between Midnight and 9am. Thoughts on Stateroom 1090 everyone????
  3. I am so very thankful for the responses I've gotten so far. Very helpful! What about the "VISA" question I posed earlier. Will our US Passport be sufficient or will we need Visas? If we need visas, how is that accomplished?
  4. We are considering Stateroom 1090 What is above that? What is below that? THANK YOU!!!! 🙂
  5. My wife is in a new job and she does not have the seniority to take that many days off from work.
  6. Ocean View deck 1 for our dates....details: Guest 1 $1,322 Guest 2 $1,322 (This is based on "Customer selects the room" ...rather than "Holland A. selects) * Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses $250 Minimum Deposit $350 Remainder of $2,544 due on May 14th Total : $2,894
  7. For Ocean View Rooms they seem to only offer me Mid Deck 1 Would we hear the engines loudly or just somewhat and it would be like a sound machine lulling us to sleep? Pros and cons of a deck 1 stateroom please?
  8. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/find-a-cruise/E3N07A/Y355.html * This link better reflects the August 2023 dates we are considering.
  9. On the itinerary that HA provides, there is more than one instance where next to the Norway ports of call it states: " VISA required for some nationalities " I'm sure you can tell from my user name that I am an American who resides in New Jersey. Would my wife and I need to obtain "Visas" for/from Norway? I've never done that so forgive me if I am clueless about that. Thanks in advance to anyone will to provide feedback 🙂 Steve
  10. Has anyone cruised on The Rotterdam in the past? I'm considering a 7 Day Cruise Holland America refers to as the " 7 Day Norse Legends " https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/find-a-cruise/E3N07A/Y332.html * The dates we are interested in would be this coming August 12 to August 19 (2023) * Please share any feedback on the ship or the itinerary. We 9my wife and I ) are Royal Caribbean cruisers but a very interested in this Holland America cruise.
  11. I came across this article.... https://www.princess.com/learn/cruise-destinations/europe-cruises/europe-cruise-tips/activities/see-the-amazing-swiss-alps-and-lake-como.html * .....and I'm intrigued. On Princess we can seemingly take a cruise that would dock somewhere and then we'd take a train excursion to Switzerland??? I'll contact Princess sometime soon, but I thought maybe someone here could provide me some helpful info. Thanks in advance for any responses on this topic. Steve
  12. Hi again, I have more time for a detailed post. This is what the NCL Cruise planner offered me: Norwegian Dawn July 27, 2023 to Aug. 6, 2023 Thurs. Embark Southampton England Fri. Portland England Sat. Cork (Cobh) Ireland Sun. Belfast Northern Ireland Mon. Dublin (Dun Laoghaire) Ireland Tues. Stornoway United K. Wed. Kirkwall, Orkney Isles, Scotland Thurs. Inverness (Invergordon) Scotland Fri. Newcastle ( Tyne) England Sat. At Sea Sun. Disembark at Copenhagen Denmark
  13. Thank you! I am glad to have you share w/ me that RCCL has something to offer.
  14. Thank you so much! I just back home (NJ) from bringing my daughter to Liberty University (VA). Sorry I did not come on and thank you sooner. While I was in the hotel I did a Google Search that led to an online chat with an NCL cruise planner. That have a 10 day cruise that starts in England and ends in Copenhagen Denmark. England, Ireland Northern Ireland and Scotland. I'll talk more specifically about this tomorrow. I just finished driving a ton and I need some rest 🙂
  15. My ideal cruise would be 9 days....but I'd consider cruises that are as little as 6 days yet no more than 11.
  16. Is there any cruise on RCCL or any of their competitors that covers England, Scotland and other locations? Other possible itinerary locations might be: Wales....or Northern Ireland( 6 counties)....or the Republic of Ireland (26 counties). I'm thinking that in the Republic of Ireland cruise ships do stop for excursions. Possibly Waterford or Cork? I like Royal Caribbean but I am very open to other cruise lines so feel free to point me in any direction. I'm just thankful for any and all responses. Steve
  17. I'm the OP....back on Cruise Critic for the first time since Dec. 2021. IF my wife and I wanted to go on a Royal C cruise, and we were vaccinated in 2021 but never boosted....are we allowed to go if we test negative prior to sailing?
