  1. I see your point and for your sake I hope things improve. Truthfully the day stuff does not matter to me personally. Except for the "At Sea" days, we'll get off the ship and do/see stuff whenever/ wherever the ship docks during the various days. Thanks for posting though.
  2. Thank you for quoting me and giving a helpful response. We will likely use NAL excursions and it seems to me my choice of a 5:45pm daily dining reservation will be fine. It's late enough to get back from an excursion and early enough to be done "just in time" for the evening musical offerings. Do people reading this agree?
  3. I didn't want to reserve it any earlier because maybe we'll do some excursions and then upon returning my wife would want to wash her hair...do make up. I needed to allow time for that. When do most people get back to the ship from excursions? Difficult for people to answer probably? Varies?
  4. My wife and I have a daily 5:45pm Main Dining room reservation. Will that work out well to have us done in time for whatever happens at the Lincoln Center Stage?
  5. Well that was a super helpful answer. Thank you!😉
  6. First of all, thank you for your encouraging uplifting post. Secondly, I'm not looking for something to do after 11pm. I'm looking for something to do after our 5:45pm Main Dining Room seating. So...kind of like 7:15pm - 11pm. More or less 😉 I am sure we will enjoy seeing live music...but not every night please. I'll have to do as you say in your 2nd paragraph. Yet just for now, it is helpful to have back and forth discussions going on this thread 🙂
  7. Thanks for taking the time to post a response. Tell me about the hosted games please.
  8. Oh No! This is not good news at all. No wonder the price was so reasonable.
  9. Correct. August 2nd still seems far away. Forgive my laziness please.
  10. What DO all of you HAL cruisers do after your Main Dining Room dinner and before heading off to sleep? .......or better phrased: What are the best evening activities my wife and I might enjoy?
  11. Sailing on August 2nd and I have previously enjoyed karoake onboard Royal Caribbean ships. How about HAL's Nieuw Statendam....will it also have evening karaoke as an option?
  12. NCL has two choices in August: 11 days and 14 days . I need a cruise that is 9 days or less and the 7 days that I have already booked is ideal. I'm just keeping what I have. Holland America 8/2 thru 8/9. Thank you for taking the time to post on my thread.
  13. Yes I CURRENTLY plan to stay with the cruise I have already booked. We are exploring various ways to get to the start of that cruise. We are currently considering flying from New Jersey to Iceland then on to Copenhagen. or... Flying from New Jersey to Dublin Ireland....then on to Copenhagen. ..................both of these options I just mentioned are cheaper than a direct flight from New Jersey to Copenhagen.
  14. Here is what I am doing on Tripadvisor to find a way to our already booked HAL cruise out of Copenhagen (Aug. 2...returning Aug. 9th ) * https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1-i10702-k14230521-EWR_or_PHL_to_Copenhagen_or_get_creative-Air_Travel.html#116135882
  15. Sailing from Tromso Norway in August did not work out. Abandoning that. I'm on Tripadvisor working out ways to get from NJ to my already booked cruise. Maybe taking Iceland Airlines from Newark NJ (EWR) to Iceland....then continuing on to Copenhagen Denmark.
  16. Thank you. If we save on the flight but pay significantly more for the cruise...well then I'll not do that. I will look at NCL's Norwegian Star website now and then report back here when time permits.
  17. Maybe, but I am very experienced at picking people's brains on Tripadvisor or Cruise Critic and then arranging things myself. I am willing to work hard on the internet.
  18. Please tell me more about the "overnight DFDS ferry to Copenhagen". Is this ferry only available overnight? I'll search for the website on my own but I'd enjoy hearing more from you as well.
  19. I've booked a HAL Cruise from Copenhagen to Norway and then back to Copenhagen. Aug. 2,2023 to Aug. 9, 2023 I put a $700 REfundable deposit for my wife and I. Refundable until May 4th. The problem is that flights form our area airports Newark NJ (EWR ) or Philadelphia (PHL) are so expensive. Yet flights into Norway itself are a much greater value. Are there cruises that leave FROM and return to Norway? We would like our cruise to start no earlier than August 1st and it must conclude by August 18th. A 7 night cruise would be perfect but I'm open to learn about slightly longer. Certainly NOT a 2 week cruise though. HAL cruises would be good but I'd entertain suggestions from other cruise lines as well.
  20. Thank you. Here it is.... https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/nieuw-statendam-1179/grand-dutch-cafe-420901/grand-dutch-cafe--v18662548/
  21. Thank you. You inspired me to do a search and I found this... https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/onboard-activities/cruise-activities/bbc-earth-experiences.html
  22. The theater on the website looks modern and big. Why have such a theater unless you are going to do something worthy of attracting a decent sized audience. I look forward to additional feedback...thanks! 🙂
  23. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that I should not expect main theater shows like I am used to on Royal Caribbean. That's ok...yet....what SHOULD I expect to be able to see or experience in the main theater? 🤔
