  1. I don’t know if onion rings exist on any menu on board Summit, but they were able to pull it off with 24 hours notice. They were pretty good, too!😉
  2. It was my pleasure. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask. I hope to work on my final comparison posts shortly after the holidays. Enjoy Summit !!! The crew are really fantastic. Numerous superstars.
  3. Gratitude Post Two more cruises booked with these two so far. The future’s so bright we gotta wear shades. Thanks to ussie maestro Peter for yesterday’s shot from the pier. Two more cruises booked with these two… …Which means 15 more potential sunrises like this morning’s to look forward to. Having lunch with Gen Pop in The Solarium. Did I spell that right? DH fetched us Pool Grill burgers and I snagged this table and sides from The Spa Cafe. I am thinking DH’s beverage selection was appropriate after yesterday’s adventures. Almost time to seek out a perfect spot for one of my favorite spectator sports.
  4. Great bar service in the Solarium this morning while I perused yesterday’s photo journal. After my second bloody I can barely spell Solarium.😂 Reflecting on a day of non-stop fun from sunrise until sunset in Cozumel. Rosie and I booked the excursion in the cruise planner and then repriced it twice during subsequent flash sales. First stop at the ruins DH stated is was the best ship’s excursion he has ever been on. Well, I would highly recommend it, but not quite the privately organized tours we have experienced in the Med.🤓 We got our fill of Mayan history and “local” culture thanks to a great guide Armando and an excellent cooking instructor Moises. I hope I got that second one right. He was a hoot. Colorful “handicrafts” Local textiles Maracas Tequila tasting😂 Tasting room Overpriced. Just saying. Wildlife Chef DH Lunch Mural at tequila stop Mural at cooking lesson We circled the island🤩 Adios Cozumel Sunset from Sunset Bar
  5. Mozz: Luminae lunch menu. Day 2’s menu I believe. Only 2 per order. Marinara dipping sauce was delicious.😋 Onion rings: Placed special order with Serdar 24 hours prior on the way out from lunch on Day1. That is a double order.😂
  6. Didn’t the sky suites on the Millennium-class ships always have a tub? We both actually preferred the tiny rain shower in the Yacht Club Interior suite on Seascape. But the larger vanity in the Sky Suite is nice. It would make sense to have a towel bar above the toilet to properly hang the fresh towels rather than stuffing them on the shelf under the vanity. DH enjoys the extra breathing room in the Sky Suite. It was nice stepping out onto our verandah to view the sunrise over Cuba, but the verandah wont get much use the rest of the day.
  7. I can only report on Luminae. Yes, I caved. But that is it. No more. I can drink my grocery store wine on Thursday when I get home. Ordered one glass of Whispering Angel and charged $2.40. I was warned upon ordering. Last night DH asked for a Syrah. We both sampled. DH accepted. I found it unsinkable and I am NOT a wine connoisseur by any means. So, I had Conundrum red. At the end of the meal I asked if I could take the remainder with me upon leaving. Was given a different glass and offered a top off. A $4.80 charge on my account. I guess I go back to Chopin and Lychee Martinis tonight.😃
  8. Firm and stained loveseat seat cushion. Floppy backrest cushion that falls through frame, so when I leaned back I was against the metal frame. Spattered with white paint. I covered the loveseat with pool towels.😢
  9. Kelly’s chairs and barstools at the Sunset Bar are an epic fail. Paint on chair legs all chipped off. Far from Modern Luxury. Interiors of the ship are fairing much better. Judging from the clientele currently on board the ship does take quite a beating.
  10. As you may have already deduced DH and I are more impressed with our experiences in Luminae so far compared to MSC Yacht Club Restaurant. YCR was fine, but just not overly impressive, exciting, or delightful. Hit and miss. But is Luminae really worth double or triple the price of YC? Not that I would ever pay those prices. I did enjoy some wonderfully succulent grilled jumbo shrimp and rack of lamb there, but nothing else really comes to mind. Our complimentary specialty dining meal in Butcher’s Cut was quite nice. Apparently this was there display of special cuts. Today we met our friends for lunch at 1:15. Luminae lunch hours today are 12:00 to 1:30. We met our friends there at 1:15. The restaurant was not too busy. I am sure many are enjoy the wave pools and activities up on deck. Menu We all shared onion rings and mozzarella sticks. I had the parsnip soup which was very good. Then the not-so-petite petite filet. Shrimp from the po boy for another surf and turf experience. DH had salmon added to his vegetable stir-fry. I sampled his choice and found it very flavorful. We all took a pass on dessert.
  11. We are not wine snobs by any means. Grocery store wines as they have been described previously in the comments on this thread suit me just fine. I am not sure your wine BYOB question was answered by anyone, but I believe the rule has recently been updated from 2 bottles of wine per adult passenger down to one per adult passenger. I hope someone will correct me if this is inaccurate.
  12. The Retreat Concierges are Eve and Mudit. I’ll try the Luminae maitre d’ again. I think his name is Serdar. I hope I got it right this time.
  13. I tried it once. I did not care for it. So, there goes another line on the wine list I can’t consider as an option.
  14. So glad you enjoyed Apex last week. Looking forward to hearing all about it when we meet up in April. Our first Edge-class sailing is not until September on Beyond.
  15. Oh please don’t get me started. Desk drawers have deceivingly larger face fronts than the actual drawer innards themselves. No grab bars in the bathtub/shower to assist with making the giant leap in not to mention with showering in rough seas. But we all know that has been addressed here on numerous occasions. Pitch black in the bathroom in the middle of the night. I could go on. First world problems. Our verandah furniture is not the grade school chairs in the photo you shared. We will give our verandah furniture a comfort test in port tomorrow when the weather is calmer.
  16. OP has garnered a significant number of responses to their post. We agree with much of your opinion having just disembarked Seascape yesterday. We moved over to Summit on our “turnaround day” and find the Luminae experience far exceeds the Yacht Club Restaurant in food quality and service. Yacht Club is the clear winner in the Sundeck department with a pool, huge jacuzzis, unlimited padded loungers, Al fresco buffet, and an army of pool butlers and bar service. Top Sail Lounge usually had a minimum of two bartenders and three waitpersons taking and delivering orders to far more comfortable seating areas. But we are only on Day 2 of our 5-night Summit cruise, so the verdict is still out. We will definitely consider Yacht Club again. Looking forward to reading the rest of the feedback generated here.
  17. I was told that would be $2 when inquiring in Luminae about newly priced $19 per glass Conundrum that sells for $18.99 per BOTTLE at Costco. Maybe The Retreat Lounge is another story. Sorry I realize point has already been made. I guess I need to decide if I will pay up or shut up and move on and drink $10 per glass Columbia Crest Merlot or Cotes de Rhône covered under Classic and premium beverage packages. This piece is not luxurious to me. Although my wine pallet is not very refined, i do find both of these alternatives drinkable.🤪
  18. No. My apologies to him, but my memory fails me. Our most gracious maitre d’ in Luminae is named Sardar or Sandar from Turkey. Yesterday at lunch I placed my order with him for onion rings with today’s lunch. Of course he doubled the order. Everything at this morning’s fabulous Luminae breakfast looked to be doubled up as well.😳 Pete’s smorgasbord. Crispy bacon, pistachio danish all around, and fresh squeezed OJ and GJ were also enjoyed, but not photographed. I have to draw the line at some point.😂 Well, okay. If you insist on continuing to follow this food circus. My dining companions and waiters Andy and Anna are extremely tolerant of my photography inhibitions..😋 Rosie’s Potato waffle. Just my inclination, but did the four of us already earn a reputation for our appetites?😂 My Peach cobbler French toast prior to Andy’s generous and unhealthy pour of hot syrup. DH opted for quicker, lighter fare at The Spa Cafe since he was seriously engrossed in the final chapter of his book.
  19. My sentiments exactly. Feels like coming back home to visit an old friend.❤️🥰 Gorgeous, plush, and luxurious are adjectives that come to mind when strolling the interiors of the ship. Plenty of cozy nooks to discover before the masses awaken and begin to filter into the public spaces of the ship. However, DH is my counterbalance with his white-glove inspections and observations. The Solarium pool is cold and the jets in either Solarium hot tub is non-functional. Pool bar grout between countertop and edge needs attention. Valen and Brian are doing a fantastic job on the accommodation end of things. Of course, they have no control over Kelly Hoppen’s interior design fails choosing aesthectic over functionality.😂😂😂
  20. Good morning from off the northern coast of Cuba. DH and I started at Cafe Al Bacio until the weird music annoyed us enough to move on. I met up with our friends in The Retreat Lounge to make a breakfast plan. TRL morning dose of food porn… Could have just stayed here for some nosh. More relaxing music, but some loud passenger interrupted the serenity with their complaining about something at the crack of dawn. There is one in every bunch. Tim is still stuffed, so he has set up camp in the Solarium as it is quite windy on The Retreat Sundeck. Next stop Luminae.
