  1. If the OP’s friend had done an internet search on lash extensions she would never have gotten them especially on a cruise. The procedures to be followed after getting extensions is not something you want to do on vacation, especially avoiding humidity, showers and soap. Many people have reactions to the glue and she should have had a patch test before the procedure.
  2. This thread should be retitled and put under the port, Seward. The train is not an option for any cruise line unless you want to take the 8:30 train. This does not relate to Celebrity at all!
  3. Luggage Forward is great and is still in business. They deliver your luggage to your cabin on Cunard but they may be available for other lines.
  4. We were on the QM2 for 19 days in Dec 22. There was a lovely mix of ages on board although I didn’t see more than 6 mobility scooters. Celebrity was more of a geriatric ward on our last crossing. I imagine the world cruise might have on older demographic but it certainly isn’t the case on transatlantic crossings or cruises less than 21 days.
  5. With the new, downgraded dress code passengers may dress exactly how the refugees outside the hotel in Manhattan. They all wore jeans and sport shirts so they could have easily dined in the Seabourn Restaurant. I fully understand the homeless encampment.
  6. In December the cost limit per drink was $12 U.S. Have they raised the cost to $13?
  7. Have you been shopping lately? There are still many supply issues so no, that jig is not up!
  8. Farewell Mr. Diamond, Seabourn will miss you. I don’t think your experience had anything to do with Seabourn Post COVID. It has everything to do with a stabilizer break down on a brand new ship and their attempt to get it fixed. I don’t understand why this makes Seabourn a discount cruise line or are you just having a “moment”.
  9. You may want to read the cruise contract you agreed to before you hire a lawyer.
  10. Certainly sounds like this thread is in error as there are no cutbacks in the breakfast or lunch offerings in the OVC. Another thread that should be taken down.
  11. I did reassure the OP in my post, i.e. that we have had no problems cruising and they should check the testing requirements for the cruise they taking as testing requirements vary.
  12. If the OP is really that stressed about the upcoming cruise, it may be too soon to go on a cruise. We have been on three cruises on Seabourn since July 2021 and the pre boarding issues are now much less than they were in the summer of 2021. Your ports for the cruise will determine any additional requirements I.e., no test, self test, or supervised test.
  13. The OP menus for the OV evening buffet look fine for folks who want to skip the MDR. Even with this list of buffet offerings, let the complaints continue.
  14. The moderator should rename ,e this thread. Passengers not washing or sanitizing their hands is not an Apex sanitation issue!! It’s an ignorant passenger issue and they sail on all ships and lines. Herad many passengers say they are allergic to the hand sanitizer. You have to take care of your own health and assume everyone has filthy hands who eat in the buffet.
  15. Just looked at the live Eclipse sailing. Doesn’t sound like the cu TA have had much impact on this sailing. Sounds like the food offerings in the OV for dinner are more than adequate. Luminae also seems to be offering great food.
  16. Just booked a return flight to IAD ( Washington Dulles) in December. Booking with United directly was $500 cheaper and it’s a non stop flight. With the savings we can get our own car to the Barbados airport. You need to check the prices before booking with Seabourn Flightease. The price with United also included insurance.
  17. If Celebrity is cutting costs why are they including more beverages in the standard (classic) beverage package? When we had it, pre epidemic, premium bottled waters were not included neither were beer brands other than Budweiser and Miller.
  18. Cunard doesn’t take dogs in the kennel on the World Cruise. If you book a lower Queens Grill Fare thru a guarantee you unfortunately have little say in your suite assignment.
  19. We were on the QM2 in Dec 22. She is not a new ship but we found it to be in excellent condition. There are a few cosmetic issues but nothing that would disappoint or ruin a trip. The Queens Grill was better than ever, Osman runs a great restaurant.
  20. You may be more comfortable on a different cruise line. Several sail from NY or NJ with a much less formal dress code, NCL, RCL, and Celebrity come to mind.
  21. Heidi13, Silverseas flipped a Zodiac this year with a full passenger load on board. Luckily no one drowned. Viking was returning to Ushuaia because one of their Zodiacs experienced an explosion and badly broke a passenger’s leg.
  22. Never had my favorite cookies, peanut butter or chocolate chips. They did however have gluten and sugar free selections so perhaps they can only bake so many different types of cookies.
  23. Of course none of those other lines have ever had issues in the Antarctic! Things break on ships, nothing is guaranteed to run perfectly, just ask the ships engineer. At least Seabourn hasn’t had an accident this season, look at Viking, Silverseas and Quark. I am glad they are being safe and have not killed any passengers. We were on the Venture in September and saw the Captain every day. The ship was run in a safe manner.
  24. Funny, I thought that the King Crab fishing season was closed in 2022 and will be again in 2023 in Alaska. Where did they get the “fresh” King Crab Legs from, Russia?
  25. If you are in a Grill Suite, the Concierge will arrange luggage forwarding for you. Saw this done numerous times on our 12/15 crossing.
