  1. Thanks. JR has been my goto for breakfast on Oasis class since they stopped serving breakfast in the Concierge lounge.
  2. According to @chengkp75 In shallow water (like the harbor) as the ship goes faster, it sits lower in the water, increasing the clearance under the bridge. Oasis always does this in NY.
  3. IN my opinion, the whole subject on pizza, as far as I am concerned, is the sauce. You can add all of the toppings you want, but it is the sauce that makes it. My favorite sauce I have ever has, was for Jim Staffa's County LIne Pizza, in Jupiter fl. I am sure he made his own, and I really loved it. And , in winter, the snowbirds would show up, and announce they had just driven thousands of miles to eat there. Of course, that was BS, it was a small place off of US1, and if I recall, he sold the property in the 1980's, and I don't know where he went. But that gives me a funny cruise story. On our Odyssey cruise last October, my wife struck up a conversation with a fellow who was from Boston area, which is where she grew up. At one point, he mentioned he was a cop from Tequesta fl. Tequesta is a town on the county line next to Jupiter, and he had moved there in 1977. I said I had moved into the area in 1976, and one of my favorite thing was to go to that pizza place to eat. Joe, the cop, started to smi;e when I sad that my waitress's husband was a Tequesta policeman. Joe smiled and said that was his boss when he moved there. He also had a neighbor who was a nurse at Jupiter Medical Center, which was where DW worked at the time. Yup, the are facebook friends, I get home, stop at a local Publix liquor store, where Fred , a retired Publix store manager works part time (when not cruising), and tell him the story , and he laughs. The store he managed was in Tequesta. Of course, all of the cops stopped there.
  4. Boy , they didn't do that when we sailed Explorer out of Bayonne. This was before the new terminal, so we all had to go down, get on a bus over to the Quonset hut, go by the agent, get back on the bus and drive back to the ship. PIA In winter, In the cold.
  5. At the end of each cruise, Customs requires all passengers pass through immigration , and then they all allowed to board again. No luggage or checkin is involved with the process.
  6. Don't you just love it when you don't have to read this, at least this week. But then, it will be your turn next week. WE will be leaving on a B3B on Allure in 2 weeks.
  7. @Radio Odyssey has a similar vending area just before the diamond lounge on the Esplanade.
  8. We didn't used too, and often on the next cruise I would get dinged for not having a credit card on file. Now I do all B2B and that problem goes away.
  9. I took mine to the dealer to replace mine. When I saw how he did it, I just picked up a package of batteries (2032) to do myself.
  10. The truck we used on the dairy farm was an F250. When you said split rims I figured it wasn't a half ton. Our farm truck had a full floater rear axle, that I don't believe the half ton trucks had, and dealer installed helper springs. That first gear came in real handy if you had a load on and on rough ground. LMC has some shows , I think on Motor Trend TV. I don't think I ever watched it. Curious how long the restoration took.
  11. @A&L_Ont At first glance I thought the videos were for Pebble beach and said huh, that's not in Canada, then I realized it was Cobble Beach. Nice coincidence. I don't think I have ever recalled seeing a Mercury version of Ford trucks. I imagine that is where the tailgate in the second picture came from. Or where the Canadian trucks marketed with the Mercury name.
  12. I suspect Royal associates Orlando and Port Canaveral , so folks not familiar with the area know what airport to book flights to.
  13. The routes from North America to Europe follow the great circle route, which is the shortest route on a globe. For example, go to web site Flightradar24 , spool out till you see the Atlantic ocean from America to Europe , and will see the tracks of the flights. It is best viewed in the evening, the majority of east bound flights are over night flights so they will be landing in the morning of the next day.
  14. The problem is that the guy you tip at drop off is not allowed to be on the ship, and has absolutely nothing to do with the delivery on the ship, regardless of what he tells you. The last cruise, the tag came off, but not before it got sorted got go the the correct floor and and side and correct section, so I just walked down the hall and found it. Rarely happens though.
  15. I'll bet nothing like South of the Border on I95.
