  1. What a slap in the face. Wonder who they kicked people out of the vibe for?
  2. Thank you so much for your response. We are planning an Alaska cruise next year and were not planning on vibe due to cold weather. Blankets make it a game changer. May have to reconsider.
  3. Interesting to say the least. NCL has a lot of splaining to do. If what probably happened, booking to a group and then after the fact kicking out the people who have already paid in full, that is not fair in any way shape or form. If so I hope they are compensated above and beyond what is customary.
  4. On these cold weather cruises, do they provide blankets for passengers in the vibe?
  5. @phillygwm We were surprised that we got free balcony cabin on Prima cruise from CAS. Wife is 7 star CET player but we rarely gamble in casino. When I say free we still had to pay fees, tips, etc and vibe passes but it was an unexpected bargain. Still I am surprised we were able to get this in what at the time was their newest ship.
  6. Have a great cruise. At the very least they owe you some OBC. Can't imagine what would have happened to cause the removal of your prepaid vibe passes. How long ahead of time did you purchase your vibe passes?
  7. Even at its current price vibe is still worth it IMO. I just can't say enough how great the experience is while in the vibe. My fear with the vibe is not the price going up further but increasing occupancy. As it is now it is never crowded. Almost seems kind of empty at times. Great place to relax or read a book.
  8. Drinking water out of the sink over ice in a glass tastes better than the "boxed" water tbh.
  9. I don't consider myself cheap either but I am glad they are throwing us a bone and giving us the American Diner for free now.
  10. The vibe is worth every penny. Unless the ports you are visiting you have never been to before or otherwise planning all day excursions at each port. With a few sea days it makes it even better.
  11. Not sure but I think doors are metal. There were lots of doors with stuff on them on Prima cruise we were on last month.
  12. @bcolli Good luck to you and I hope you are able to get vibe tickets. We booked ours a year in advance for our Escape cruise this coming December. If you are able to get in, there is an elevator to get to deck 19 where the vibe is located that is not on the deck plans for some reason. As more people find out about the vibe, the price is going to continue to go up but it is worth every penny. In regards to your port time of 10:30 you should be okay as they normally don't start letting people on until about 11. I disagree with @BirdTravels regarding the mad rush to get vibe passes. There might not be literally a mad dash but there will be others that will be wanting to get vibe passes. You might want to continue to check your reservation daily between now and then as some people may have cancelled resulting in some availability. Keep us posted. Hope you get in.
  13. Pay the DSC and the prepaid gratuities on drink package and specialty dinner and you are good to go. Beyond that to each his own. You are not required or expected to pay more.
  14. It was too icy for us. Void of flavor. Glad to hear you liked the ice cream machine in Prima. The only one we know of there is in the buffet. It was one and done for us.
  15. Yes. Should be in envelope on desk in cabin. If not call or go by guest services.
  16. Ice cream is ship dependent. On Prima for instance soft serve ice cream in buffet is terrible and should be called ice cream headache as it is made with ice instead of cream. They do make up for if you look around on Prima as they have real ice cream inside Indulge though only open limited hours. They also have hot fudge sundaes at the Local. Local while not open 24/7 is open most of the time. So if this thread has legs and hangs around long enough you should get a decent representation of the quality and availability of ice cream on NCL ships and where and when you can find it.
  17. @WillCruiseForMoneyBoth times we have cruised since becoming platinum, we sent off laundry in extra thin bag provided ( thanks BTW to whoever it was who suggested placing it inside similar sized plastic bag before cramming laundry in) writing Platinum outside and filling out inventory form of items to be washed. I never received a replacement bag for second round of free laundry. I had to ask room steward to bring us one. I guess that is just standard procedure or just a coincidental oversight by the room stewards in question on our two experiences being able to utilize free platinum laundry perk. I see under latitude perks that they say one bag of laundry per member and one of each of the two types of platinum dinners per cabin. My point is to eliminate confusion, on the voucher, they should probably say one free bag of laundry per member as well as saying one free of each type of platinum dinner per cabin. It would be easy for them to do and eliminate any possible confusion.
  18. So why do they say one bag of laundry on the voucher? Looking at the coupons and if I did not read CC I would assume it was only one free bag of laundry per cabin. We have always been able to get two bags of free laundry per cruise since obtaining platinum level. It just seems strange that the laundry is not worded one free bag of laundry per platinum cruiser. The free bags of laundry are a great perk. By wording it the way they do a significant amount of platinum cruisers probably miss out on the extra bag of free laundry they are entitled to. Perhaps in the next round of cuts they will begin enforcing the one bag of laundry per cabin much as they are now enforcing the 1 app or salad or soup, 1-entree, and 1 dessert on the platinum SD's. Would not be surprised. Until then the one free bag of laundry for each platinum is a great perk.
  19. That's a good question. Even though the coupons only show one bag of laundry. But since wife and I are both platinum we always get 2 bags of laundry. We have always assumed the dinners were one of each per cabin. You have to take the coupons with you for SD's. One has bottle of wine one does not. Curious as well how they got two bottles of wine.
  20. I kind of miss the hash browns. Did not care for them at all back when they used to be onion flavored. Now that they taste like McD hash browns from what I remember they were not bad.
  21. The last time we experienced prime rim night was on the Bliss a little over a year ago in the MDR. Even though we got there fairly early, 5:30ish if I recall correctly, it seems everyone was ordering prime rib. I think they were caught off guard a bit as it took forever to get our meal. They must have not put the prime rib in the oven in time as there were quite a few of us looking around waiting on our prime rib. It was good when it finally arrived. It is almost impossible to plan your SD's around these type of events in the complimentary eating areas. Sometimes you need to get lucky to participate in one of these.
  22. Yep. Won't be an unknown gem much longer. Now if they would just add hash browns to the breakfast menu there would probably we a wait to be seated. Really happy to hear you say that they have an omelette station there. Makes a difference to us anyway that you can order an omelette or eggs over easy as part of breakfast.
