  1. Is there a difference between a CVP and a PVP or are they the same thing? The first couple of times we cruised with Princess we used a TA, and the next couple of times we just booked online ourselves. I put a hold on one of the new Australian itineraries when they were released this week and received a call from a CVP today. We currently have three booked cruises for 2 days, 14 days and 29 days. We had FCDs applied against two of the bookings, and had also made some instalment payments. She shuffled around the FCDs to maximise our OBC, threw in some extra OBC and managed to reduce the fare on one of the bookings as well. She also managed to retain the cabins we had booked, and moved our instalment payments over so we didn't have to pay any additional deposit. In short, it was a fabulous experience and I will definitely be keeping her number for future use. 😊
  2. Does anyone else wish Disney would offer adults-only cruises? I love the idea of a Disney cruise, I just hate the thought of so many children on board. *shudder*
  3. We have hired a car in Vila before, and driven around the island. It's a wonderful way to get away from the main part of town and explore the areas that interest you most. We visited places like Tanna Coffee and the villages of Tanoliu and Port Havannah. If you would prefer not to drive yourself, there is a local bus service that takes you to the Mele Cascades which are lovely to visit for a swim and short hike. (NB: we last visited pre-Covid so things could have changed.)
  4. On our most recent cruise I loved the frozen pina colada during the day by the pool, and the Baileys raspberry martini at night. 😋
  5. This is what is pictured on the Princess website but I have not received one so can't confirm if this is accurate.
  6. We were on the Coral in late January and Journey View didn't show the full schedule until the day before departure.
  7. Ah, now I understand. How annoying!
  8. I currently have two cruises booked, and can switch between them by selecting the 'profile' option in the bottom right corner.
  9. This is what we experienced. There was a very clear notice on the initial email notifying us of the cruise cancellation, that the credit needed to be booked and sailed by specified dates. As those dates came and went, and multiple cruises were booked and cancelled (by Princess), we contacted Princess and received multiple extensions. We were finally able to sail using the credit in February this year.
  10. We bought the Premier Package which includes the cruise fare, beverage package, unlimited photos, fitness classes, premium desserts, etc, etc. Yes, it is very confusing. 😊
  11. That's lovely, thanks for sharing your experience! I've been nagging hubby about renewing our vows for several years now. I think I'm just going to book the deluxe package and tell him on the day. 😂
  12. That's interesting. I welcome the opportunity to fill in a comprehensive survey after every cruise. I see it as my chance to give constructive feedback about what was fantastic, what was okay, and what fell below my expectations. I imagine it's the operations team that is most interested in the survey results, rather than the marketing and sales departments. 🤗
  13. I would respectfully suggest that the user who made this comment is a far greater waste of space than your extremely helpful FAQ, which I and countless others appreciate immensely. 😊
  14. We have booked a two night cruise from Adelaide to Melbourne in November and we had the choice of either the Plus Package or the Premier Package. We've chosen the Premier as the cost to splurge for two nights is reasonably low. The Premier inclusions are all listed in our booking confirmation. 😊
  15. The vast majority of businesses in Australia will take your money any way you want to give it to them. Tap and go (known as Paywave here) is extremely common, and you can use debit or credit cards. Some businesses will pass on the merchant fee (usually between 1.5% and 3% of the transaction amount) while others will build the cost into their pricing. A small minority of businesses are cash only, and an equally small minority are card only.
  16. Caprice Cars Chauffeured Vehicles are fantastic. They will design a tour to suit your individual needs and preferences. They are a family owned business and their customer service is exceptional. https://capricecars.com.au
  17. Coffee, coffee, coffee, blah, blah, coffee, coffee ... anyone care to hazard a guess about what this means for hot chocolate afficianados? ☕
  18. It's an internet forum. No matter what you post, *someone* will get mad about it. Don't take it personally. 😊
  19. We were very fortunate to receive an upgrade on our very first cruise, from an inside cabin to a balcony. We did not receive advance notice, it happened when we checked in on embarkation day. We were very grateful and it was a lovely introduction to Princess... but it has never happened again!
  20. Hooray or hooroo? Hooroo is definitely not endemic to Lake Macquarie. I've heard it in many places around Oz. 😉
  21. You can use it, just make sure it's in the Aussie context. 😂
  22. Apologies for veering slightly off topic, but on Coral in February I made it my mission to try as many desserts as possible. 😂 I agree with those who have said that the layer cakes have no flavour. They are basically all the same, just with different colours. The doughnuts were also disappointing. They're quite dense, not light and fluffy. The pastries and danishes were consistently good. There was a nice lemon meringue custardy cheesecake that was quite nice too. The chocolate cake available in the Medallion app was excellent. But my favourite was the rotating selection of cupcakes. They did have good flavour, and the buttercream toppings were divine. The red velvet and chocolate chip versions were my top pick but the carrot cake and other variations were all lovely. They had a dessert extravaganza in the buffet one afternoon. I didn't try anything but did manage to get a quick video of the selection. XiaoYing_Video_1679544605115_1080HD.mp4
  23. I really liked the Pandora inspired bracelet they launched earlier this year. You get the bracelet for free when you buy the first bundle of three charms for $20 I think it was, and then another six charms were released gradually along the way. Sadly the clasp on the bracelet is very poorly designed and I don't wear it because it comes open and the charms fall off. I'm not sure if I just got unlucky with a faulty one, or if they are all like this. The free Effy bracelet and charms are also a bit of fun to collect and make a nice souvenir.
  24. There is so much to love about the Diamond. The toilets are a definite highlight, and so is the Izumi Bathhouse. See you there! 🥰
