It is UNTRUE about no deluxe drinks packages for 7n or under. It is the usual restriction on the 2-3n Southampton cruises where there are no deluxe drinks packages which has been in place for 5 years or so

At the port gate there is a ticket machine ( if no one is manning the ticket booths) As of 11/2023 the price is €1.50 pp each way. You press the €1.50 button and then the option comes up for how many tickets 🎟️ you want. Press 2 gets you two tickets one for each trip. The machine takes coins. I’m not sure if it gives change as a lady was trying to put in €20 note and wasn’t getting anywhere! The bus is #13 It runs every 20 minutes and it is about 20 min ride into town. The bus driver takes your ticket and tears it in half. You keep one half. You catch the return bus from where you are dropped off. The return journey takes a little longer as it goes via the military base. However you could always get off in the little shopping area when you see the ship and walk down. Love it! Virgin and Saga are using it as a port more. Should be a very interesting sail in through the little channel past Gunwharf and all the Royal Navy ships. There is a motorway 🛣️ literally outside the port and it is a short cab 🚕 ride to the train station for good links to London. And it’s only 30 minutes from my house! No next cruise as she’s going into short dry dock.

No drinks packages on short ex-UK cruises under 3n already in place ( and has been for about 5 years)… extending it to 7n and under would be a killer. Even more reason to cruise MSC on their nice new ships and with their cheap drinks packages out of Southampton !

On Enchantment now and it’s already very evident that the furniture is new in VCL or Spotlight Lounge; unlike the threadbare saggy scuffed chairs on Brilliance or Jewel. The art in my cabin isn’t sun faded either.
