  1. Thank you for an informative thread and for answering others’ and my questions. Loved the photos and hopefully will bump into you on either X or Cunard and if we’re all inclusive I’ll buy you a drink! Cheers and thanks again.
  2. Seems another has replied on your behalf and never cruised on Celebrity lol! But seriously, your fans are awaiting with bated breath…..
  3. So Groryjm, if Cunard and Celebrity both had an identical cruise departing Southampton on the same day and you could have an identical suite which one would you chose?
  4. I read on another discussion that Cunard is Carnival’s most profitable cruise line.
  5. Chemmo, I don’t suppose you live in Newcastle or Wales do you? If so then we might know each other! I’ve got large shoes to fill when I’m on my cruise as the OP has done an amazing job with this thread. Strange that Celebrity fans are now looking at Cunard. Why are we doing so? We’re happy with the Silhouette in the U.K. and hate the faff of flying to Miami the day before the cruise and kicking our heels all day in Miami for the night flight back. We’re trying a Celebrity Cruise from LA in April to see if that’s better but there’s nothing can compare to driving to Southampton and leaving the car next to the ship. Maybe we’ll love Cunard but is Cunard ready for an influx of Celebrity guests the same way that Carnival guests are creeping onto Celebrity?!
  6. Chemmo We appear to visit the same haunts here on CC and reading your posts we may actually have cruised together at one point. Did you go round the U.K. on Silhouette last year? We did in The Retreat and loved it. Got to agree with your comments. We have mulled over Cunard for quite a while now but do wonder about getting dressed up every night and lack of venues. No doubt I will suffer the wrath of Cunard diehards, especially one in particular, but we’re sticking our neck out and have a nice little trip booked in Queens Grill in three weeks. We did exactly the same itinerary on Silhouette in September so it’ll be interesting to compare and am indebted to grorygm for his regular updates. Only one problem is that we enjoy a drinks package and Cunard don’t do one on shorter cruises. Methinks our drinks bill might be more than our tickets!
  7. Not currently possible to compare San Fran with the Amalfi coast at the moment. Unless, of course, the Amalfi coast now smells of urine and hash.
  8. Thank you for your informed posts and photos. We’ve really enjoyed them. Looking forward to your views on the food and entertainment too.
  9. The OP only asked a question. I’m as guilty as most for challenging some views (especially negative ones from an Elite+ contributor) on here but I think the question’s been well and truly answered!
  10. You’ve made us really laugh. Thanks a lot. We’ll do jam and cream then cream and jam for you when we’re on board!
  11. Thank you for your comparisons and for the photos of the theatre. It seems, even on here as on cruise ships, some people complain about anything and everything! Data protection no less. I’d better start dieting to get into the old tux.
  12. Erm, shouldn’t you have put the jam on first? Really enjoying your trip. Thank you
  13. Really enjoying your posts, especially the menus and food photos. Few questions please. What’s the age demographic? Is QG on a par with Murano and is it relaxed or stuffy? Any chance you can take a discreet pic of how people are dressed in the evening please? She wants to know what to pack in a few weeks. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work!
  14. Are others permitted to join in or is it all about you?
  15. Celebrity fans here, done the Retreat on Edge and Solstice Class and adore Silhouette. We’re trying QG in a few weeks time and, unlike one of the comments by Vic2, we are looking forward to your reports immensely. Lots of pics please and lots of comparisons with ‘X’ will do nicely. x
  16. We went on a Celebrity cruise a few months ago to Amsterdam and had a delayed departure from there which suited everyone nicely! Apparently, there’s also a lack of water in European waterways so the lock timings are now very restrictive, especially to bigger ships.
  17. This statement confuses me as your last sentence negates your first! One or our new carriers is HMS Prince of Wales. The OP’s post, I think, is merely trying to get a debate started.
  18. Agree 100% with OP. We were in the Retreat on Edge and, apart from the room, we were underwhelmed. The Martini Bar is in the bowels of the ship. No windows. The Martini Bar on Solstice Class is bright and airy with lots of passing traffic. We couldn’t put our finger on it but it’s not for us. Went on the Silhouette a few weeks ago and we felt like we were coming home.
  19. Again, I’ve enjoyed your informative posts about warm/cold food, masks, etc. How has Mr HH ‘enjoyed’ it?
  20. I think you’ll find Celebrity to be quite different to Carnival. I’m sure the answer is yes you can. The majority of clientele might be guilty of smuggling a bottle of Krug or Chateau Lafite but certainly not coke! In short, you’ll have an awesome time and don’t worry. X
  21. Still enjoying reading your posts. Is Mr HH getting tested regularly and is he showing positive? If he tests negative does he get out? I only hope your insurance company is on side.
  22. Thank you HH. We’re enjoying reading your well balanced posts. We’re Celebrity fans but having our first short cruise on QV soon and your informed views are adding to the excitement.
  23. Great to know she’s still with Celebrity. We’ve done a few Silhouette U.K. cruises recently and thought she’d be perfect there as the CD’s on these trips just didn’t do it for us.
