  1. I qualified for my first block in June 2022. At the time you had the option to fill out a form and have it mailed to your house.

Despite several conversations with the LA on board various cruises, we didn't get that first block until March 2024 (when we were half way to block #3). And that was after that ship's LA contacted shore side and was told too much time had passed and we were out of luck to get a block for the ship we were on when we earned it. The LA nicely just gave us one he had for the current ship. So our first block, earned on Serenade, is a block for Adventure.

"Individuals without a gluten intolerance, wheat allergy, or celiac disease have a gluten transit time of up to 4 hours in the stomach, 6 hours in the small intestine, and 59 hours in the colon. Therefore, it takes 2-3 days for your system to eliminate gluten entirely." - VeryWell Health

Every time you eat another gluten-laden meal, you restart the clock - not a myth, a medical reality - unless one is in denial. YMMV, but I have never felt better in my life😇

I'm glad you feel better. But it's not because gluten is unhealthy.  And definitely not because it gets turned to fat (what's not digested gets expelled). Just make sure you're getting proper vitamins and minerals that tend to not be included in gluten free foods.

Pure myth - it is gluten that your body doesn't need, can't process, and can't eliminate. I eat twice what I used to eat before I switched, and still walk the same 2-3 miles a day and swim the same half mile a day as I did before I switched, so the only variable that the weight loss can be attributed to is removal of gluten, which the body stores as useless fat.

    This is an urban legend.

Those who lose weight eating GF do so because they're eating less fried foods since GF versions are less available or just don't taste as good.

But gluten is a prebiotic beneficial to the good bacteria in the intestines.

Boarding the Allure this morning for a very rare short cruise for us.  Just wanted to meet her before she left PC, as we have never been on board that ship. .

Booked months ago and could not get anything over a JS cabin, even with checking every day.  Plus just now received my denial on my Royal UP bid.  Oh well, it's a nice "hump out" JS on deck 10 anyway.

AS to this thread...it will be curious if we are allowed (as Pinnies) into the Suite's Lounge.  Will try for perhaps one night in Coastal Kitchen.   Will be fun to "bar hop" around the ship anyway.  😉

As far as I know the ship is totally booked up.

Another thing I find amusing is how people extrapolate their opinions of icon and oasis to everyone. Even though the large ships are getting premium fares and are selling full but the small ships are the lowest fares and don’t always sail full.

What small ships aren't sailing full though? It's likely more the long and thin routes, which are more likely to get slotted to a smaller ship, that aren't sailing full. The more traditional vacation routes, no matter ship size, are definitely full.

Yeah, even at D I usually had a couple sodas and a couple Trulys in the fridge. I really do want to try to use more on actual drinks though. I'm hardly a big drinker at home so ordering lots of random, interesting drinks I'd never try to make is part of the fun to me... I'm not trying to get drunk.

I average about 3 drinks a week at home. On a cruise ship? Yeah that number goes up quite a bit.

Don't know if it's the first, but I see American Cruise Line's American Independence using the temporary channels to reach Baltimore, so cruises have returned to Baltimore.

Out of curiosity I looked at their prices. My goodness. A 7 night cruise just touring Maryland and Virginia is more per person than I paid for three in a grand suite next month for an 8 night cruise on RC.
