They also canceled Labadee on our August 11th Freedom cruise
They're canceling everything through September

Looks like they're sacrificing this short cruise to get to Vancouver in order to fix things before the Alaska season.

Not sure what you mean by "proposal". Did you mean "disposal"? Or maybe "propulsion"?
Propulsion thankfully. Issues with the disposal system would be quite bad.

Which I've told a few people on FB. There are posters on a couple of pages that are worried about their July and later cruises. I really wish people would learn to google so they might at least have a bit of a clue.
Hey the cost of my 2025 Vision cruise dropped over $1000, so if that's due to people's concerns, I'm all for it!

Reviving this thread as there's going to be a limited access channel opening on Thursday.
So it's quite possible the channel will be totally back open when the Vision returns to service.
Fortunately the timeline hasn't changed from the original. They still plan to have everything cleared by the end of May.

Our “plan my cruise” is still showing as Labadee, I just went on to see if there were and Turks & Caicos excursions showing.
I was on the first cruise affected by the change back in March. We had Labadee in the cruise planner until pretty much the first day of the cruise.
But don't sweat it. There won't be many excursion options since it's a tiny island.- 1

Am I the only one that finds this odd that with everything that is going on and the decisions that have been made , that Royal is making middle of the night stops with thousands of passengers aboard .... (Assuming this is actually true) .Especially in light of all the talk about Travel insurance policies possibly even becoming invalid due to this ... Seems Risky
??
RC never stopped due to safety concerns. They stopped due to PR concerns.
Plus since the ship wouldn't have been cleared for passengers to disembark, the ship technically was never there.- 2

low stress
Yep, since it's a vacation, hopefully most people can destress for a few days. And that sure will help with any lingering health issues.

Did you take Relief Factor?
(I hope I'm not the only one who has seen that awful commercial)

You can find lots of videos online of people being left at the port as the ship is sailing.
This rarely happens. There are plenty of good, reputable 3rd party tour agencies that will ensure you're back in plenty of time.

Just saw on a FB page that Adventure of the Seas pulled into Labadee at midnight one night and delivered supplies. The supplies might be for the people living there?
Yes. They've been doing humanitarian stuff, especially fuel for generators.

Cancellations are now going into June at least.

Spectrum is registered in Cyprus.
I believe that was a somewhat recent change.

It has nothing to do with going "home" once in a while. It's just about taxes and other rules they have to follow (or better yet, not have to follow if they were flagged in the USA). And obviously those taxes and rules are the most favorable in those popular registry countries like Bahamas, Malta, Panama, etc.

The same reason many US companies are incorporated in Delaware and many semi trailers have Maine plates.

The simple fact is that the big ships cannot service many of the existing itineraries that Royal offers. As these smaller ships age out Royal has 2 choices. Either build new smaller ships or abandon many of their itineraries. My money is on the new ships.
And the smaller ships are still big compared to competitor lines.

$18.99 per day seems like a default sale price. $16.99 is the cheapest I've seen it in the Starlink era.

The only time I sailed out of LA it was a PITA after the cruise getting an Uber. Maybe because we were going to LGB not LAX.

There should be no stress. As long as you understand what you're bidding on (a cabin category upgrade might be seen as a downgrade based on location on the ship of that cabin), you bid, and you forget about it. Some crock pot logic. Set it and forget it. And if you win, great.

Captain on Vision said the same thing. It apparently comes up at a lot of the Captain's Corners.
No surprise. Experienced cruisers are an inquisitive bunch, for better or for worse.
RC is probably hoping they can get Utopia out the door before they have to publicly announce the new class.- 1

I cant book the transportation through the RCI site as I am not booking my flights through them.
There's no requirement to book airfare with RC in order to use the transportation.

Can that charge be made in the photo gallery when I go look for the embarkation photo? I assume they do those photos just like Carnival does....? Once on board everything is charged on your room card...
Yes, if the first thing you do when you get on board is get that photo, that'll likely be the first thing charged to your account, therefore using that OBC

I have always had credit on Carnival and like to use it on embarkation photos..I assume they do that with RC
Yes, but, you can't pick and choose what to use that credit for once on board. Once on board it just goes towards the first X dollars charged to your account.
