  1. Thank you @Two Wheels Only. I appreciate all the details 😀
  2. I am an experienced cruiser (14 so far and 2 more on the books.) I’ve cruised (at least twice on each line) NCL, Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and MSC—so I am familiar with the quirks/differences with each cruise line outside of the suite areas (I’ve not experienced the suite life yet.) I’ve cruised in interior, oceanview, and balconies. I am hoping (fingers crossed) to try my first sailing in the Yacht Club sometime next year. I would be sailing out the USA, so looking at Meraviglia, Seaside, Seashore, Seascape, and Divina. Ports aren't as important to me (I've been to most multiple times) so I'm looking at trying the ship within a ship experience. Any cruisers who have sailed on more than 1 of these ships, could you tell me which Yacht Club you liked better and why? I’m looking for information like how the YC pool was, service at the YC pool, YC restaurant, stateroom info (ex. if you had an interior, how convenient was it to get to the YC pool deck), etc. I might be overthinking it, but just curious to know if any are better than the others. TIA for your insight 🚢
  3. I had a friend who used to be a TA. They had a system that would check for reductions and alert them when a booked cruise was discounted. It's good practice to let the client know....you want their repeat business and for them to spread the word of what you've done for them to their friends and family.
  4. We actually found the bracelets to be quite functional when we cruised the Seascape in October. We didn't have any problems at the bars (they had these little white scanners they would pick up and we would tap it with the wristband.) It was great having my door open as I was approaching, especially when I was bringing a couple of coffees back to our stateroom. I liked that it is waterproof and I could go swimming with it. When we cruised Princess, they had the medallion ones.....these are so much more comfortable and we didn't have to worry about the medallion popping out of it. We only needed our cards in the casino and when we exited/entered the ship.
  5. @bruce85 I would love to see daily programs and dinner menus. Enjoy your cruise.
  6. Not sure about NYC but when I took my NCL cruise out of Miami in February, there was a separate line for those without documents. This was after the X-ray scanning.
  7. Agree 100%. Only reason I didn’t initially respond to the OP is because I figured it may be a troll just trying to start some “stuff” with what they probably know is a controversial subject. I’m always suspect of posts like these from first time posters.
  8. I agree, GMA did a much better job of reporting it than the Today show did--loved Michael Strahan's response at the end lol.
  9. The main casino is smoke-free. They have a small enclosed area off the sports bar with some slot machines where you can smoke and gamble.
  10. Here is a pic I downloaded to show my SIL what B1 cabins were available at the time we booked. Should give you a little idea of the depth of each deck.
  11. My guess is this cruise also combined 2 cruises into one itinerary.
  12. Thank you so much. I knew deck 13 had the smallest balconies. It was either deck 13 or deck 15 and I wanted cabins above and below me. Thank you so much for all the information. Sailing on her next year through the Panama Canal and looking forward to my first aft balcony.
  13. Thank you. I thought we were on 10. Just checked and we are on deck 13. Do you know those?
  14. Wow you are so full of knowledge. Do you know the configuration of the aft B1s on deck 10?
  15. I think the S in S. Bergen stands for “salty” 🙄 I’ve organized (I’m not a TA but my family treats me like I am 😜) large groups of 16-20 family members on a few mostly NCL cruises. I’ve NEVER encountered these issues that old salty here has—even our dinner reservations have worked out well. We always sets up our dinner reservation months in advance. We always eat dinner together and I always meet with the Maitre d’ well before the first nights dinner to make sure they have us sitting together (usually at 2 large tables next to each other.) Old Salty is trying to sound like a seasoned cruiser with a very good travel agent daughter but after reading this review that is really difficult to believe. I wish they had listed what other cruise lines/ships they’ve been on. I agree with others who say it reads like a letter to NCL hoping to get reimbursed some of their money. Buyers remorse maybe???
  16. All of the Seashore oceanview cabins are on deck 5. Has noise been a problem in these cabins? I'm concerned being under the theater, Times Square, near the atrium, and I'm unsure about what I would be over on deck 4. Please let me know your experience with this deck, and if you remember, what cabin you were in. TIA.
  17. @ColdCruise is the ship decorated for Christmas? We board on December 6th and I’m hoping decorations will be up.
  18. Was there any charge to participate in Press Your Luck? I've seen on the dailies where you can sign up, but no mention of cost (if any). Did you watch it? I've watched it on TV and just curious as to how they work it. Enjoying the review--thanks for doing it.
  19. @ColdCruise will you be posting any Freestyle Dailies? I’m mostly interested in the embarkation one. I like to see what, where, and when I need to go to get the first day things done (like booking shows, etc). Also thanks for posting a pic of the inside cabin—I am sharing one with my adult son in a couple of weeks.
  20. I've done it on other cruise lines--never hurts to ask. Call your consultant.
  21. My last cruise we were 4 decks up from a smoking area and it did affect the enjoyment of my balcony. I’m hoping to pick a better location for us this time. Do you know what side smoking is allowed on deck 5?
  22. Where are the outside smoking areas on Freedom of the Seas? I'm trying to pick my cabin location and it would be helpful to know. TIA
  23. After posting this question, I came across another post that made it sound like different length sailings had different point requirements--which makes sense. I appreciate you replying back. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  24. @JamieLogical I know you're onboard the Meraviglia right now, and if you think about it the next time you go to the casino, could you ask the casino host about the question I asked above? I always enjoy reading your posts and I will totally understand if you aren't able to get around to this. Enjoy the rest of your cruise 🙂
  25. I was on the Seascape recently, and as you said the buffet is extremely busy, but I did not wait an hour for anything. I will say the line to get made to order omelets was long, and I chose not to stand and wait for that--maybe that is where the hour long queues were??? You can also eat breakfast at the Green Wave MDR. The attitude you go in with is everything--enjoy your cruise 🙂
