  1. I was on the Discovery last week and it was port side on the Dolphin Deck. I know they were blocked off just forward of the aft elevators and also at the mid ship elevators. I never went forward on Dolphin to verify how far forward it went. I was in D706 and it was great for a regular balcony cabin. The balcony was huge and about 1/3 covered.
  2. I just disembarked today as well, and it was extremely smooth process. Our group was called about 8:40 AM. We did the airport transfer, but just to pick up a rental car. We were to the airport by 9:30 am and had the rental car by 10:00 am. At our time there was a long line for the airport transfer. Both the Discovery Princess and HAL Westerdam were using the same buses. If you use a porter, you can bypass that line and go right to the front. We didn't know this when we got the porter, but were thankful. I also didn't stop when going through customs, just had the passport open to photo page and he just waved me through. On this sailing the Platinum and Elite disembarkation lounge was in Gigi's.
  3. The service for the most part was excellent, and the ship never really felt as full as it was. We ate most meals in the Ketchikan dining room and was lucky enough to have Aleksander as our waiter. We ate in Sabatini's one night and service was excellent there as well. Gigi's was mixed, we ate there twice for lunch (both on sea days) and the first time it was excellent and the second it was really rushed. The bar service was excellent and quick.
  4. I just got off Discovery today. Skagway was open for the embarkation lunch and Gigi’s was not doing the Al fresco dining. If you want to do the embarkation lunch, I would advise to arrive early. We had about 3400 passengers and the port struggled. It was 2 hours in line just to get through security, and then luckily there was a platinum, elite, suite line at the check in desks. The ship ended up sailing an hour late.
  5. The captain just announced we will be tendering with 3 of our tenders and the Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam is lending 3 of theirs. Will at least be able to get into Skagway.
  6. I am on the Discovery. The ship is okay, but it did affect the gangway. One person got minor injuries, and only 13 people had disembarked.
  7. I boarded the Discovery Princess today in Seattle. My parents and I did our Covid tests on Thursday afternoon, so 3 days before. We did the proctored antigen tests. We had no issues boarding with those tests. I will say that check in and boarding was the worst I had seen it. From getting in line at the terminal to getting on board was almost 2 hours.
