We will now sail only on Oasis class ships- we are not happy with the older smaller ships. Less to offer, restaurant choices not good.
I just don’t see the big ships going anywhere interesting, I still go on them, but alternate between the big girls and other classes with more varied itineraries

They didn't do outside seating on Odyssey
I guess as ‘Ultra’ lose the outdoor and the 2nd indoor pool? Off topic, I know but same size WJ on Odyssey?

Nice solariums on this class, nice WJ with outdoor seating, which is only in 2 classes currently(these and Quantum class)

What are the benefits to booking a cruise on the ship? I typically go through our travel agent, would this cut her out of it, I really wouldn't like doing that to her as she is always so helpful in every way she can? Thanks in advance!
You can transfer to your TA and still get the reduced dep and the OBC as noted this is NRD

I am in agreement with the OP and others, when other lines can show you the pricing for drinks or packages with wifi and tips(which I will pay) it makes no sense with Royal,.
if this was a stand alone product with no competitors the price point makes sense, otherwise they have really done their homework to find a price that will still have general buy-in with maximum profit and minimal blowback.
I’m Loyal to Royal and thankfully not enough of a liquid guy besides water that I can live without it, but I guess I’m just embarrassed at this particular practice by my favourite cruise line

Another vote for Cocoa Beach shuttle

What is it that some people have said - That the Icon class going to look like the Oasis class with some new changes and features (mostly) inside?
I'm keeping an eye out all the new blocks and pieces to come in order to see if they give a better idea of the overall look.😁
Besides the changed bow, a twist maybe to the exterior appearance?
This appeals to me.
Looks like the seaside class from MSC

Option 2; as noted above, more days and Aruba/Curaçao.
Allue, still an Oasis class ship for the win

Now that I've been on the Celebrity Edge, I'm not sure why Dynamic Dinning didn't work. I loved the concept on the Edge. No seating times, all "My Time" the 4 restaurants are themed and all 4 share the same changing nightly main dinning menu and classic dishes but then each has 3 or 4 dishes for starters and entrees that don't change(stay the same the whole week) but fit the theme of that specific restaurant. I thought that was a great concept. Not sure if thats what Dynamic Dinning was, but it seemed to work well on the Edge Class.
Yes, 4 restaurants with own theme and specific menus, small amount of items common on all menus, great for those that liked it(we were in the minority)

Just lean over to the table next to you and ask the other patrons "Anyone want some of this Waldorf Salad? I didn't touch it. I just want a spoonful or two..."
Break the ice and make friends! 😄
I am definitely using this next time, I’ll report back…..

I wonder, what does Royal have to lose in keeping it? How many last minute cancellations do they see outside of Covid? 1-2% why not keep it going and have something that sets them apart

Oasis, amped, pool in solarium, no solarium pool on Harmony.
Cats on Oasis(good or bad depending on your viewpoint) when production shows resume
Oasis still great bang for your buck

even with the thermostat all of the way down to the coldest setting, the cabin still gets too warm. thats been my experience on every ship ive been on
The only problem I"ve ever encountered is adjacent cabins sleeping with balcony doors open, and my A/C can't keep up.

I’ve stayed at the BW and Embassy suites at Newark airport which is one of the hotels walking distance from the outlet mall, which was handtpy

Not sure about the new fitness rules, but from what I've seen less crowded because of the limited passengers. Yes towels provided, water was available from cooler/fountain but again would have to wait for current cruisers to chime in about what protocols look like now

I take my coffee black, also being Canadian, don't find Timmy's strong enough in general. As mentioned the Promenade is fine for us thrifty guys, l also like the WJ brew-as long as it's hot. If i order a Starbuck's I order the same thing anyway and don't see enough of an uptick in the flavour to be worth the $$

Had an 80s party on Liberty just pre covid, was a great change but was not supported by the entire support crew like with the 70s party.
It was the CD and a couple of activities crew. I do like the 70s but also like the some other eras/genres, the thing to consider is it has to be entertaining and danceable which eliminates some genres mentioned(IMO)

Have done Quantum and Anthem on 12+ day cruises, We've intentionally chosen Bayonne vs FL/Texas based on longer cruises and cheaper airfare.
Yes there is a cool day on either end. That is why we need the 12 or 14 days to make it worthwhile.
Will look at sailing again if possible, if the went back to 12-14 N regularly.

All ships are great Oasis class, longer cruise is always better.

Asian, Silk was my least fave, there was Chic, American icon and Grande.
liked Grande a lot, Surf and turf every night,

Not a drinker, I drink a lot of water, will have an occasional Pedro Collins in the Schooner, but the drink package ‘value adds’ are lost on me as Diamond I don’t even use my drinks all the time.
Royal hits the sweet spot, like others I will do X based on itinerary and price and have no desire to go on Carnival at any price, will probably also cancel my Princess cruise, simply because it’s not X or Royal

I’ve probably posted this before(I definitely have) but when being sold on the Quantum experience it was sold as something completely different, which is why I picked it.
I heard lots of complaints about, on (insert ship or cruise line here) it wasn’t like this, this was kind of the point and maybe instead of the loud and long complaining by many, just realize that if that is the model on this class of ship. If that is how someone felt just know they won’t sail this class of ship.Still think RCLshould have allow the growing pains and the growths to happen.
The continual bastardization and tweaking to soothe the traditionalists did not do the program any favours either.

DH and I were just talking about this. Our waiter most definitely followed us and was waiting for us at our table each night. We had set dining time. We always do late. I also remember when we got to our cabin, there was a piece of paper with which restaurant we were in each night, and at the same time each night.
This is definitely the classic not the OG, with the OG you could pick wherever and do Grande or Chic every night with your res, not saying I did Grande every nights, but it sure felt like old school cruising
