  1. Is this something official (where they will eventually update the web pages and coupons, or something you just need to know about? Also, what counts as an appetizer at La Cucina?
  2. I gave up calling after a couple of locations that used to offer shuttles to the cruise port no longer offered them and decided we would Uber/Lyft. The list posted above says it was updated April 2022, so that seems like the best place to start, but compare the locations on Trip Advisor and call the hotel as well. Reviews for the Tahitian (supposedly offers both transfers free) are awful.
  3. We are staying at the Sheraton just a bit farther down the road from the Marriott near the cruise port. We stayed there this past February and really enjoyed both the hotel and the customer service we received. It is in the Marriott family and from a points standpoint is slightly less than the airport Marriott. We are staying at the airport Marriott post cruise because we have a super early flight and I don't like worrying about traffic and transportation when I have an early flight. There is a lot to see walking distance from the hotel and along the free trolley (about 2-3 blocks away), so we aren't renting a car on either end. We will likely 3 times (airport to hotel, hotel to port, and port to airport/hotel). I'm looking for transportation alternatives that may be less expensive but haven't found anything yet.
  4. You can check these out for now... https://profcruise.com/norwegian-dining-and-restaurant-menus-2022/ I've seen the new menus mentioned a couple of times, so I'm interested to see what those look like. We have an 11 day cruise on the Dawn in Feb and it is a pretty unique itinerary, so it will be hard to find the menus. To the OP, the MDR menus typically are fairly consistent across ships, but do vary based on location, food availability, and to a small degree the chef's preferences. I haven't sailed NCL since 2019 and that was the Pride of America that is a little unique, so my info could be outdated.
  5. For me it is the convenience of throwing it in my backpack for shore excursions. I actually prefer the water on board and would refill our platinum water bottles and put them in the fridge for the next day, but now with the boxes of water, that probably won't work. 😞 Have to bring my thermal cups since the other water bottles I have will leak.
  6. BirdTravels is on Breakaway and said she had Coke 0 there, at least for now. I hope they do have. I will make do with Diet Coke.
  7. As always, I am loving all of your info. Thank you for posting. Too bad you can't go on our ship and itinerary before we do to help out with that info. 😉
  8. We used magnets in our paritally blocked Ocean View in 2019.
  9. It was back in 2018, but we flew into Long Beach and drove over to San Pedro and were stuck in bad traffic for a long time. I'm guessing Uber/Lyft probably account for that, so I'm not sure how expensive those would be. We had a rental car, so didn't price out Uber, etc.
  10. We stayed there back in 2018 and loved it. We had rented a car to tour a few days before the cruise, so we didn't use the shuttle, but really enjoyed the hotel. I think I was Hilton Gold at the time and was pleasantly surprised when upgraded to their top suite.
  11. Were the MDR menus only for the current day, or for all days? If all days, I could definitely make a stop at that table during our initial browsing on day 1 of the cruise.
  12. Thanks. That helps. I'm in a lowly interior, down on deck 4. Maybe someday we will hit the lottery (not likely since we don't play) and stay in a Haven room. 🙂
  13. Again. thank you so much!! You are going to get sick of me. More questions. I see it says Mobile menu in the file name. Does that mean that once you are on board for the cruise, you can wake up and see the menu for the day without walking around to the dining room and peaking at what is outside on the wall? If yes, is that the normal NCL app that I have already downloaded or something additional?
  14. My family really gets a kick out of my saying, "we are winging it today", and then pull out of a list of items to pick from for "winging it". I'm glad I'm not alone out there. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and unless NCL changes things again, we should be Sapphire at the end of the Feb cruise. Every time I get close to moving up, they add more levels or change the requirements.
  15. Thank you all so much for all of the information. I appreciate all of the opinions and got some good smiles out of some of the comments about pickiness and planning in general. I realize now I led everyone down the dining path with my specific questions. Back to my general question, Any overall tips, comments or suggestions about what has changed in the past 4 or 5 years with NCL cruises. Thanks again.
  16. Thank you so much for all of the info and especially the menus. Did you happen to take pictures of any main dining room menus? We are doing an 11 day, so I'm sure it will be different from other cruises, but I like to know the main dining room options when I book my dining reservations. I know they can always vary, but I find most ships follow a somewhat similar pattern. (Or at least they did 5 years ago). Thanks again for the menus.
  17. Keith, thank you so much! I think it was you who wrote the old thread I was looking for. We are happy with the 3, but the Teppanyaki vs the Moderno and booking the fixed price first was exactly what I needed to know. I appreciate your willingness to repeat the same info over again for those of us who are bad at searching.
  18. I and NCL platinum and am an obsessive planner who enjoys the cruise more when she knows what is coming, but haven't cruised since Feb 2019. We are sailing the Dawn in Feb out of Tampa. I need to find the current version of how to best mix loyalty free meals with 1 dining plan meal. I'd love to find menu and activity info. I read recently Cagneys is no longer good. It was our favorite. Do you agree? If so, next suggestion? We're boring steak and potato people. That is why we liked Cagneys. Any and all tips, suggestions, info on what changed, etc will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  19. I just started planning this port, but someone put a video on our group page and it looks like there is a pool and a little beach area right at the port. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N6-cHLxgx4 Also, I pulled up Google maps and it looks like there is a beach near the Ocean Center that looks kind of nice and doesn't seem that far away. I have not been able to find any info on taxi available, cost, safety, or anything else. You go a month before me, so if you learn anything, please post back. I don't like being herded along like cattle, so I typically prefer doing our own thing rather than a ship tour, but I haven't been able to gather much info yet.
