New Cruise Contract Terms
swoopy2110 replied to printingchick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Any UK guests that book with US TAs had any trouble since this was released? I am strongly considering booking a cruise with a US TA, price is £900 cheaper than booking in the UK and includes $175 OBC! Unsure if this update to the contact could get me later down the line though. Thanks. -
Like yourselves, UK residents are unable to get price drops on Royal Caribbean Cruises once booked, however, they usually allow us to upgrade to a higher category of cabin (which can sometimes be cheaper than what you've booked). For those of you who have booked on Day 1 of sailing release before, do prices tend to go up or down from that point ? Looking at booking a 2025 NZ sailing when they are released this week but unsure whether to hang on until later down the line or not. Obviously it's going to depend on how the pricing comes out anyway! Even if they are priced highly I'd be hoping they'll drop over time and even if I book the cheapest interior I'd be able to up it to a higher category of cabin later. Thank you.

When will The Anthem get replaced in Southampton
swoopy2110 replied to Speedbird01's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Genuinely, what do you want ? Anthem is due to be replaced in 2025 by Odyssey... also not good enough according to some in this post. Newer ship, different shows, different layout, dining room etc. Oasis class ships will never suit the UK climate. Would you really want to be 'downgraded' back to a Freedom class ship? This is honestly why I try not to sail out of Southampton anymore as it's just listening to moaning Brits the entire time moaning about trivial things. There's a whole world out there! -

You cancelled your cruise because you couldn't buy a dining package Jesus whept. -
New global legal terms and conditions
swoopy2110 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They went through a phase once of saying that an onboard booking for UK guests could have one re-pricing done to it. I bet the CSRs in Guatemala weren't informed of that though. -
It's easy to get from Southampton Central to the port. We have walked it with out suitcases before (although we are in our 30s 😉 ) Also agree with Thejuggler who said don't use the trainline! Use any of the the train operator websites instead.

Scary Medical Emergency - Cruise Credit Chance
swoopy2110 replied to Kever1818's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I am glad your daughter is ok! Must have been scary for you indeed. This question comes up all the time, and the usual replies are that if cruise lines allowed 'exceptions' for all the reasons people came up with why they couldn't make their non-refundable cruise then they'd go bankrupt. You can try asking the cruise line if they'd be able to assist you, but this really is the reason why travel insurance exists. -
Yes, that's fine.

Online check. We don't have an I Phone?
swoopy2110 replied to ace2542's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Android phones work too 🙂 -
Not sure why you're all surprised that the credit card charges have been processed and go to actual payments. They wouldn't be able to stop them given the amount of time that had passed since the original transactions had been processed.

Looking to head 'down under' for the first time in 2025. Looking at booking a NZ cruise on Royal with a few days prior to do a bit of exploring Australia. We'd be fine with either of them. Have done Anthem / Odyssey before so know what to expect. I take it there's nothing majorly different on OZ / NZ cruises compared to Europe / Caribbean 🙂 Thanks

Explorer of the seas HEADING BACK to dry dock?
swoopy2110 replied to proposal's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I'd get them to have a look at that blue coloured ship too that has decided to go rogue and started ploughing through land towards Malaga. -
Certain travel insurance policies that have "cruise cover" may have a missed port section that would pay in this scenario.

Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins

Looking at a first visit to this part of the world for Winter (Summer?) 2024. Looking forward to the itineraries being released in due course. -
Don't understand why people complain about the room assigned when booking at GTY. It literally tells you they can assign you anywhere on the ship in that category as a minimum. It's the chance you take for booking at a lower rate.
