  1. Yes and it was the quickest embarkation and disembarkation that we’ve had in all of our 29 cruises, facial recognition or not! We just did adventure of seas from 7/1-7/8 from port Everglades.
  2. Cafe promenade is just a few steps away. Pizza was really good. Did not try the sandwiches. Coconut ranger cookies are delicious and the chocolate chip cookies were also good.
  3. Schedule shows, book specialty dining, eat lunch, grab a much needed cocktail!!😂 Enjoy your cruise. If you have any tips, suggestions, opinions on the Wonder after you cruise, please post as I’m on wonder in December
  4. Hopefully when you are on board, Sheldon will still be one of the bartenders in the Duck and Dog. We are just off the Adventure and he really made our Duck and Dog experience fun.
  5. Definitely balcony!! We had unobstructed views when sailing to view the glaciers, meaning no other people in the way for some great views and pictures!!
  6. @The Fun Researcher, we were on the week before
  7. We did this on the Anthem in March. Had a great time!! And we now make sushi at home! We had so much that I did not eat all of mine. DH forced it all down. So do not eat breakfast that morning. When it was done, we all got certificates for completing the class! The pictures below show the amount of food that you make per person!!
  8. We are also NCL past cruisers who jumped ship to RCL. We do not see any difference in dress. Show times are comparable to the times on NCL. Food was slightly better but with some recent changes they are now about the same. They both have expensive drink packages, extra charge for specialty restaurants and internet. We enjoy both lines, but have been sticking to RCL because DH gets way better casino offers.
  9. We did free and pay. We enjoyed both. Free just goes up in air while in a port. We had awesome views of the whole island at Coco Cay. The paid time goes out over the sides of the ship. We enjoyed both and got some amazing pictures, especially when out over the side. I definitely would do the free time in port again. Not sure if I would pay again since it would be basically the same type of pictures but I’m not saying I wouldn’t do it either.
  10. I call for every cruise. DH gets Deluxe package and I get the Refreshment package. But as stated before, you have to call if you want to do it before you board, which is cheaper than waiting till you get on. But they will do it on embarkation day also but it will be more expensive then.
  11. We didn’t have seaweed at Nellies beach last July.
  12. I didn’t think I would enjoy Alaska because I hate being cold. Did Alaska last week of July into August 2019 for DH. Did I enjoy it and would I go back? Absolutely and definitely! Next time will be a land and sea package. The scenery, wildlife and seafood are some of the best. The blue coloration in the chunks of ice we past was the most vibrant blue I’ve ever seen. And who needs to pay for whale watching when I seen soooo many just from the cruise ship. It’s definitely something a person should see and do at least once in their lives!
  13. From port Everglades to FLL is $15.95 pp for one way. Just booked it last week for upcoming 7/1 Adventure cruise for disembarkation day.
  14. Did explorer in July 22. Did not have a washline in the shower and I don’t remember any usb ports. I take magnetic hooks to hang wet clothes on. And of course had a usb charging port with me.
  15. In the cruise planner, where it says about Royal up, you can check the status of your bid. If the bids are listed as expired, then you know you didn’t win the bid. If it says pending, they are considering the bid and most likely will win your bid, but not always. If it says submitted, they haven’t even looked at it yet. I did this for my July Adventure cruise at about 1 1/2 weeks after I submitted my bid on several categories. All but one said expired. The one for a spacious OV balcony cabin said pending. By 9 am the next morning, I had a notification from my cc about a charge to RCL. So I checked my email and at 9:10 am I had the email telling me we won the bid.
  16. Ooooo! I must find and try the mudslide cookies!! I have 3 upcoming cruises so hopefully on one of them I will be able to try them!
  17. We absolutely loved the coconut cookies!! Thanks for posting the recipe!
  18. We did Alaska at end of July into beginning of august 2019. We had 60-70 degree weather. So I agree to dress in layers. We did take packable raincoats and waterproof sneaker line walking shoes. We did use them on more than once. Family at home in NE PA were laughing at our pictures we were posting because we had on sweatshirts and jackets and they were back home in shorts, tanks and flip flops because it was 100 degrees 😂
  19. On the Mariner in Sept 2021, they knew it was our anniversary so out last night eating in MDR, they brought out a piece of cake with a candle in it and sang to us. The. The last night of cruise in Chops, they decorated a plate with chocolate and berries with a little candle that said happy anniversary and all the waiters came and said Happy Anniversary.
  20. You will see the offer in the cruise planner for your sailing when they put it out for bids. Also can try this that Startyeyes shared some time ago on CC that I screenedshot. I only had to use this link once because since then it started to show up in the cruise planner
  21. Yes.we have a comped cruise on Adventure on 7/1 OV cabin. Placed RoyalUp bid last week. Today was notified that our bid was accepted and we were upgraded to a spacious OV balcony cabin😄
  22. Just keeping watching. We have the WOS in December which we only booked in April. Immediately I went to book a daybed and they all said sold out. I checked the excursions everyday. About 3 weeks after booking, while out to lunch, I remembered that I didn’t look yet that day, so pulled out the phone, checked the app and lo and behold there was 1 chill island beach bed available. So before we ordered lunch, I booked a daybed!😄
  23. If you don’t want hibachi, but want to go to Izumi for sushi, do you still need to go to Izumi to book your reservation? Or can we book Izumi just for sushi at any other restaurant as soon as we board?
