Anyone cruised without drinks package?
BND replied to Frapaccino's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We've seen it all. People slamming back as many as possible as soon as they board and others who drink moderately even with the package. On Wonder in Jan on the second leg of our b2b, there was a couple sitting up near the entrance area (just past the handwashing station) every morning at a bistro table. Every, single, morning, he had a bloody Mary and she had a glass of wine. Wine with eggs and bacon, etc? Yuck lol. We've never bought a drink package in 40 cruises. We carried on wine for a while and we made D pretty quickly so then used the DL in the evenings and usually had no more than one drink during the day that we paid for. Now, we get 5 free drinks a day and 3 bottles of wine (525+ amenities). We don't even use all of the 5 per day. What I don't get is the mentality that when buying the drinks package, you don't have to keep track of or worry about what you spend. Odds are, most people wouldn't drink as much if they didn't have the package because they're only drinking as much to try to get their "money's worth". As I've said on other threads, Royal wouldn't sell the package if it wasn't really profitable for them. They're not selling it for the cruisers benefit. -
Um, I don't know maybe they don't need to say anything. Would you? Labadee used to be a favorite and common port for us, but since CC was revamped and the pier added, that's where we've been going. We're scheduled for Labadee in March 2025, but we won't really miss it if they still aren't going there.

What we've seen on recent cruises is that the Concierge/Suite lounges aren't very busy so this shouldn't impact them at all. I'm thinking they looked at the numbers and decided that this was a way to make it look like they are giving something to them which really doesn't impact them at all. How many Pinns actually cruise with non-Pinns they want to share a cabin with? It only benefits the non-Pinn so there's no incentive for Pinns to do it.

Should my kids have their own C&A number?
BND replied to Neosophy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Of course, if they have custody/guardianship, then it would. It appears that isn't the case. I'm guessing Royal for some reason assumed the grandparent was the parent. -
We go to eat lunch at a place we've been to many times. Can't do that in port.
-
We always used to walk it. Takes about 15 minutes. With my knee injury it would take us a bit longer now so we take a regular taxi. Have done the water taxi in the past, but it's easier IMHO to just take a regular taxi.

That shouldn't have happened unless he lives with you as a minor. -

Anyone cruised without drinks package?

We drive or take the train but never carryon anything. With 635 pts we get 3 amenities on most cruises which we use for wine. We absolutely use our vouchers for whatever we want and the whole idea that it's "wasted" to use on anything but alcohol is ridiculous. It's not wasted if you use it. We also end the day with unused vouchers left over. I know that'll give a few a heart attack haha. -

Pay as you go never cost us more than a drink package. We're D+ and get 5 free drinks per day. Most people do not get their moneys worth out of a package. A lot report they start out strong but by day 4 or 5, they just can't keep up. Plus, port days it's harder. -
Advantages of a Junior Suite over Balcony Cabin
BND replied to cjdixon4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We just kept putting off going up to get a reservation. We're back onboard Wonder in Nov in a JS for another b2b so we'll make a point to go. We have friends going on the cruise also who are Pinnacle so hoping we can all eat together there. -

Still relevant. -

My understanding is that if she doesn't have suite privileges then they will say no. We did two weeks on Wonder in Jan and never even tried to get into CK. We ate there one time on Oasis a few years ago. We only book JS, regardless of ship size or amenities. We love the space. -
The ones that then complain there's not enough for their kid to do. They also decide that the solarium pool is a requirement as their child "has to swim" when the outdoor pool is closed because a child decided it was a bathroom (actually happened like 4 times on that cruise). That was only one of many things that happened, including a family getting kicked off for something their teenager did.

Why are you making excuses for Royal? The entire point of this thread is that they removed the menus.
-
It's an 8 day SE coast and Bahamas. We know the menus inside and out. My point was we shouldn't have to go look for them. We didn't have to prior to recently. If you look at my history, you'll see we've done 8 and 12 nights several times out of Baltimore. That wasn't my issue. it's the fact they for whatever reason took the info out of the app.
-
We're on Vision in a few weeks. Until a few weeks ago, we could see the menus, but now they're gone. The menu was there for our last few sailings (last was in Jan on Wonder) for pretty much the entire time we were booked (months). We shouldn't have to go search for it on other sailings.

Should RCCL have more accessible cabins?
BND replied to thefog's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Why tiptoe around lol? It's Carnival that announced yesterday the change to scooter policy. -

BND replied to thefog's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are plenty of people who report booking them even though they don't really need them. As for the poster you quoted, out of Baltimore, the ship is a small one (Vision currently) and it has much fewer accessible cabins. We always book a JS and have to book early to get one on that class. -
LOL. I wasn't paying attention, but they do play it at CC.

How many bottles of wine on 4 day cruide
BND replied to ILOVESHIPS's topic in Royal Caribbean International
DH and I get 6 as D+, so 3 each. It's been 6 every time since they started doing water only. We also get 3 bottles of wine (Pinot Grigio) as we're over 525. DH doesn't drink it but there's really no amenity that he wants otherwise. -
Have you heard "Perfect Day" played yet?

Does Vision supply umbellas in Suite?
BND replied to barric's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My parents lived in Oregon for a few years and used to talk about how they rarely used an umbrella because it mostly drizzled. It rarely rains like it does here on the east coast. Plus, my post was kind of tongue in cheek to your post. You know, as in you would never lower yourself to use an umbrella.
